“I had a great experience here when I went in for a brake inspection and tire rotation. They said I still had some life in my brake pads and identified a battery terminal issue that could lead to some issues down the line (the terminals were incredibly rusty and I had been ignoring it lol) and they did great work. Chuck and Mike at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The shuttle service is so awesome. It really helped me out while my car was in the shop. Mark, the shuttle driver, was so nice, personable, and a joy to talk to. Don't sleep on this shop, they do good work and won't try to sell you services you don't need!”
“These guys are great and saved the day for me. I was traveling in Ann Arbor and my car suddenly started making a terrible loud sound that felt unsafe (and I was trying to drive 500 miles back home). They were busy on a Friday and couldn’t look at the car until Monday so I took it to another establishment (Convenience Auto who ended up keeping the car until Monday anyway and doing $900 of unnecessary repairs). When I left this other establishment the car began making the noise again almost immediately. I pulled into Japanese Auto rather desperate. They were quickly able to diagnose the problem as a brakes issue and have the part fixed within a couple of hours. I was so relieved they had a great mechanic who could diagnose the problem quickly and correctly. Save yourself time and money and start with these guys. If they are booked, get on their schedule and wait.”

“Drove from WI to MI for a trip and realized I super needed an oil change. They fit me in same day even though they seemed pretty busy! Price was great and they even went above and beyond to inspect my car to recommend other tune ups for next time without being pushy. Considering it’s an old car, this was much appreciated and I’m honestly even considering making the long trip back just for their service :)”

“Highly recommend! I've had brakes, shocks, and a muffler done here. I've been thrilled each time. Their prices are lower than nearby competitors, and they don't upsell you on anything. They've even told me to wait on certain non-critical repairs, and the signs to watch for when it's time to do the work. Their service is almost always same day -- I was in and out in under 3 hours for my muffler from drop off to work completed.”
“It's a great place with reliable mechanics for European cars, but they almost never have availability, they won't adjust or understand special cases, they would stick to their rule book. Also they are comparably expensive. So they are great for certain type of people who are willing to wait / plan and spend and go by the book. That's not true for a lot of people who simply want their car fixed reliably at the cheapest rate asap.”

“7 year old compact SUV. Bought this when my first kid was born, now the oldest of 2. To say the inside was trashed would be an understatement. The car seats had never been removed. The outside had lots paint from rubs on the garage entry (wasn't me). The car was nearly unrecognizable when I picked it up. Love these folks.”
