I bought this car with the hope of it lasting 1-2 years, and so far so good.The total cost was around $5k with less than 120k miles. When I first went to check out the vehicle, Edwin offered to knock off $1000 bucks the online price, or to sell it to me at the listed price plus body work (no additional cost). I didn’t even have to ask for this deal. I believe this is because they already had bought parts to do body work. Even though I was lookin for a clunker, it now looks great, and my wife is happy, so I’m glad I went with the body work.They were cool about me dropping it off at Toyota for a pre-purchase check, which Toyota charged ~$150. My big question was, “Will this car break down tomorrow?” Got a resounding “no — looks great.”They did suggests a list of repairs, which was mostly Toyota trying to make money. The one big thing they suggested I do was replace the suspension, which they (Toyota) wanted to charge ~$2k. After getting wise counsel from my father, who has many decades of mechanic experience, I returned to Edwin and asked if they would do the repair for cheaper. We came to a deal where they would do the repairs for free if I paid for the parts, which was ~$300.Overall I’m very happy with their willingness to negotiate on this repair. They put everything in writing, including offering me a warranty on the suspension repair were something to happen. Very cool ?There is always an inherent risk when buying a used vehicle. Do your research ahead of time, look at maintenance record, check the “common problems” sites to see if that model-year has notorious transmission issues, etc. But as far as used car dealerships are concerned, these guys care about their reputation, and did their best to give me an honest deal.Also shout out to Louis for dropping off my drivers license to my house after I mistakenly left it there — super cool ?”

“If you have a brand that you love and know you may need a car in the future, tell Peter about your specifications for your used dream vehicle. It may take time for the vehicle to appear but it will be worth it because the vehicle you will get will be thoroughly analyzed by Peter and John. Learn from me because I did not tell Peter about my wishes until I found my dream vehicle on a lot of another small dealership. I did not want to lose the vehicle so I bought the vehicle as opposed to waiting for Peter to find the vehicle of my dreams. I needed to give a family member my old vehicle which I got from Peter years before and I did not have the luxury of time. My second mistake was not having Peter look at the new / used vehicle which I purchased from another small dealership. The vehicle was great for six plus years without any issues other than maintenance which I did locally and not at Cohasset Imports. In May 2023, I brought my car to Cohasset Imports for an oil change and the 60k scheduled maintenance. Unfortunately, it was too late. Peter and John discovered a very expensive $7,900 repair was needed. If I brought the car to Cohasset Imports years ago, they would have discovered the issue and it would have been covered under the warranty. Since I found a brand that I love, I was limited in my choices to find another vehicle. Again, I did not have time to wait until Peter found another vehicle for me so I traded my vehicle at a dealership and had Peter and John review my new used vehicle. Peter’s analysis included some recommended repairs which I will discuss with the dealership. Peter gave me the reassurance and confirmation that this new / old vehicle is in great condition and did not have any of the similar issues noted on my former vehicle. A customer in the waiting room called him an Angel and I could not agree more. We are so fortunate to have Peter on the South Shore looking out for us and guiding our automotive needs.”

“***I ONLY PUT 5 STARS SO YOU CAN SEE THIS** I was recomended to come here from my stepfather since the owner is his nephew and he would make a great deal for me... Customer servince was great... BUT the car i bought has many problems.. He told me he changed the brakes and tuned the car and fixed whatever needed to sell me my perfect first car i took it to the mechanic he works with and he told me the car is perfect.. NOT A MONTH OF HAVING THIS CAR i get into an accident because the brakes didnt work, i took it to the shop and come to find out that mechanic put one of the "new" brakes incorrectly... Reason why my car couldnt come to a full stop when i needed it.. The shocks of the car were already ruined and I brought my car back after a week of the purchase to let him know there was something wrong with the car and there was a noise but he blew me off saying its nothing... THIS GUY IS A TOTAL LIAR when i got my brakes fixed another mechanic. He told me the brakes were never replaced just one piece to make it look new... The car is working now and i have paid to get my shocks and brakes fixed along with my hood... another issue i have is that he made me sign a 30 day guarentee of the car THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS the law is 90 days guarantee ... He took advantage that i was a new buyer and only 18 that didnt have knowledge of that law... If any parent is looking for a safe first car DONT buy one here!!!.This man MR FIX or Marlito has been avioding me and my familys calls for 2 months now... Like i said UNRELIABLE AND UNTRUSTWORTHY!!!!”
