Worst ER, after waiting 8 hours in the waiting area, I just gave up and went home. Next time when I need to go to the ER, I will drive to Worcester or Lowell. I wish I could give this ER 0 stars....

+12 hours waiting in the emergency room. No communication of any sort from the staff or updates on wait time.EDIT: Ended up being +17 hours. We were sent over from a smaller clinic that recommend a head MRI. This was conveyed to the receptionist. After the long wait, we were told that head and neck MRI were not possible unless it was a life-threatening situation. It would have been great if the receptionist would have told us this before we sat in the waiting room overnight. There were other patients who waited longer than we did.Emergency rooms really need to think about putting in place a communication system between hospitals to let patients know a real-time accurate waiting periods. So that patients can be diverted to other locations. Along with what diagnostic services and equipment are available at each location.

The Emergency room doctors are incompetent. I have a chronic condition that requires pain management and nothing by mouth. They change up plans that go against what I previously said. No communication between me and the doctors. I leave AMA. They call me to come back in cause my blood tests came back at a dangerous level. Waited 11 hours for. I came back and they said they hyper inflated the numbers. Again I sat there for several hours in pain. I left AMA and went to Emerson. Got the treatment I needed and got better. They ran the same tests I received in under 2 hours. Numbers weren’t close to what UMass said. You need to have your license of running a hospital removed. Seriously removed. And I had a previous incident here that legit almost killed me. Incompetence.

A year ago I gave this Hospital a 1 star review. I don't know what's changed exactly but I was recently seen here and it was a much better experience so I am changing my star rating.

People smoking directly outside the entrance. Sign on the door said must wear mask - all 3 security guards had masks pulled down under their chins. Let after waiting an hour and a half after my 5 year old said she wanted to leave in part due to an older man consistently yelling a d cursing that it was taking too long to be seen. Not a good experience.

This hospital must be closed as soon as possible. The worst is that you will die while you are waiting and a doctor has not seen you yet, more than 5 hours and I have not yet entered to see a doctor and went to another hospital

If you're not bleeding out I suggest going literally anywhere else. Didn't even cover my foot wound with a band-aid. Complete waste of time.

I went to the emergency department two weeks ago with chest pain. I was seen very promptly. The physician and nurses were very professional, highly trained, efficient, and compassionate. Within 2 1/2 hours I was in an ambulance on the way to Mass General in Boston where I had a heart catheterization and stint placement. The ambulance crew was excellent as well. I sincerely thank everyone who was so attentive to my needs. I am truly grateful. Roberta Kiley Pastorello/Fitchburg

Why the state does not close down this disgraceful emergency room is a mystery. Never before have I seen so much carelessness, indifference, rudeness and outright hostility from so-called medical professionals.I am a heart patient and been there several times with chest pains. At various times I have waited for 10 to 12 hours without being seen by a doctor. Repeated requests for food were ignored for several hours as I became hypoglycemic and dizzy. On another occasion my cardiologist sent me there as I was having chest pain and told me to ask for a transfer to the cardiac unit in Worcester. But the Leominster triage nurse just snarled at me "Your cardiologist doesn't know what he's talking about" and refused to do anything. After waiting for about 8 hours in vain to be seen by a doctor, I went home.Another time I went to the Leominster ER with blood pressure of 193/109 which, according to both my cardiologist and the Mayo Clinic, is an emergency which could prove fatal. But the Leominster ER said "you're not having a stoke or a heart attack", refused to increase my meds and sent me home to die without treatment. For my most recent bout of chest pain, I went to the ER in Gardner and received much better care.
