7 - 10AM
4 Church St, Belmont“Been trying to get more into indoor fitness now that the weather has turned brutally frigid and jogging outside is no longer pleasant. This review for OTF may be more detail than anyone wished for but here goes!PRE-CLASS: I scoffed a little at the reminder to get there 30 minutes in advance, thinking I'd be waiting around, but really - do get there earlier. There are some forms to sign, a heart rate monitor to awkwardly clasp onto your forearm, and then the instructor walks you through the various stations/zones. It's a lot to take in at first and it started making sense (somewhat) as you go through all the rounds. I super appreciated Marcy taking the time to walk me through it and demo some of the moves, particularly the rower, which I was utterly hapless at - more on that later. CLASS: You're assigned a certain treadmill/station and, depending on the format of a given class, you rotate through running, rowing, and weights. I liked how there was a good variety of moves so if I got tired of one thing, I knew I could switch to something else. The rower was the hardest for me, having never done it before, and I'm pretty sure my form was atrocious. I also mixed up a few of the cues that the veterans of the class seemed to follow seamlessly. Pro-tip: grab a mat for the weights portion. Doing push-ups on my knees on the floor was no bueno. INSTRUCTOR: Marcy was wonderful! Patient and kind and pumped everyone up. She followed up with me after class to see how I was feeling and went over the breakdown of the stats. Her passion for fitness and helping others reach their goals was so evident! I'd definitely take another class with her. COMPETITIVE: There is a scoreboard displaying everyone's stats during and after class but for someone who hates any ounce of competition (thanks, high school PE), you can either tune it out completely or use it as motivation. FACILITIES: There are lockers, coat hangers, two showers, and bathrooms with toiletries. PARKING: Lots of street options and a lot in the back. This is a huge plus for anyone who's ever been running late to a class and also needed to find parking. OVERALL: 8/10. You can tailor the class to your own abilities but at the same time, there are lots of areas to push yourself. (PS: The log-in/class sign-up page of their website could use a rehaul ... just saying. It looks like it hasn't been updated since the early aughts.)”
“I got a free credit and joined a colleague, it was a wonderful decision. The staff is very friendly, the workout is excellent, and it was an overall great experience. I'm a wheelchair user and they even accommodated that. Definitely will be back.”

I have never been very athletic or engaged in physical activities but fireclycle made me love exercising and taking better care of myself.
The classes are very entertaining, the instructors are fantastic and very motivated. I could not recommend this place enough!”
“Romel really shows the importance of starting by learning good form instead of just jumping into heavily lifting immediately. Recommend to anyone looking to get into fitness and to better themselves.”
“The instructors at My Gym are fantastic at keeping my 2.5 and 4-year-olds engaged in a small class environment! Special shout out to Coach Maui and Coach Marcus for always putting a smile on their faces. They skillfully encourage the kids to move and sing, all while honing their coordination, social skills, and physical activity. My children eagerly anticipate their My Gym sessions every week!”
“I really like the place because the routine it combines Pilates with weights and it has helped me a lot to have a slimmer and healthier body and that makes me feel very good. Poli is an excellent coach, she always helps and motivates you, I highly recommend ?”
“Great workout option in Charlestown. They often offer promos for classes/class packs which is always appreciated. Instructors are great and good class schedules. I do wish there were later weekend classes but there must not be a big enough demand.”
“I cannot say enough great things about D1 - from their workouts, their facility, their staff everything has been amazing. I have learned so much regarding nutrition and exercising that I never knew before (and I was a dedicated high school athlete). If you are looking for a gym that is personable and really dedicated to you this is the place to go! The owner of the gym is even involved in the workouts every day! I highly recommend giving D1 a try - you won't regret it! It is a true investment in yourself and your health journey.-Katie Morales”

An hour just flies by...The coaches, especially Jules and Helen, are just remarkable with such dedication and interest in each and every member of their class. I so look forward to the hour of fun and a highly satisfying workout each time. (And did i mention the awesome music?)”

778 Tremont St, Boston“The only time I’ve seen muscle growth when working out was when I joined B3. Chris is an amazing coach who explains each workout and gives a workout routine that actually helps you build muscle. Love working out at B3!!”
“I’ve been coming to Invictus Fenway since my next door CrossFit location closed almost two years ago. It has been a great experience with an amazing group of coaches, incredible schedule and solid programming. I’ve had the opportunity to drop in almost every CrossFit location I traveled to, either nationally or internationally. I’ve seen amazing boxes and the Invictus Fenway is definitely one of these amazing places (I know I’m biased ?since it is my home gym).”
“I had just moved to the area and was looking for a new gym back in October. Boston Underground was the perfect fit. The strength camps work best for my goals, and the coaches have all been amazing. They make you feel like part of the family from the start and provide individual attention to help you perfect your movements and get the most out of your workout.”
“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Reimagym and the whole team there. It really does feel like you stumbled into some magical realm where your identities and your body are celebrated for who you are right now, not some fantasy of what you could become if you just work hard enough.
Working out with the people at Reimagym is so, so special. The camaraderie is something that must be felt to be believed. As a fat person, I’ve had so many gym experiences where I felt invisible at best and humiliated at worst. Reimagym is a balm for those wounds and I’m so happy I found them. Big big love! Rainbow infinity stars for the whole team! (Bonus: Hector the Gym Dog is the cutest sweetest boy and will make your day better, guaranteed)”
“I had a great experience here as a fitness focused and working woman. I always take note when I am not the only woman in the weight room. Wonderful front desk staff, clean facility, and great positive gym vibes for a focused lift and cardio work out. I wish we had a gym like this in Baltimore.”
“I am not the most athletic guy, but I've been coming here for almost two months to do the "Punches and Crunches" class. What I have found is a gym full of supportive, passionate, and motivated people who want everyone around them to succeed. You should give this place a shot, even if the idea of a boxing gym is intimidating for you!”
“I started going to MBSC when I was in middle school and now I’m in grad school. I go to the adult group with my mom now, and we have so much fun. I have had different coaches and they are all amazing. I love Megan because she is always challenging me and is very encouraging. She also does chin-ups with me to help motivate me. Steve is good too.”
“I've been going to this gym for 6+ years, even after I moved from the neighborhood. HIGHLY recommend for anyone (of all levels). The coaches are true professionals (and fun people) who understand that everyone is at a different point in their fitness journey. The workouts are scaleable and are highly effective for producing results. I always leave this place feeling physically and mentally refreshed.”
“If I could describe CrossFit Southie in one word it would be Awesome!!! The owners Chris & Amy are the absolute best! All the coaches are friendly, encouraging, patient, and extremely knowledgeable.
The box is clean and updated with all the newest and current equipment. All members are very friendly and supportive. It is an amazing community. The place is perfect and really special. I highly recommend it for everyone.

40 Jones Rd, Waltham“This is my 3rd CrossFit community (to accommodate my work locations) and I couldn’t be happier to have landed here. The staff truly goes out of their way, during and outside of class, to deliver top-notch service and get to know their clients. Nothing makes me more proud than seeing the community embrace a new first-time member, then watching that member succeed and learn to love all they are capable of. Special shout out to coaches Steven and Scott for your unwavering support and passion for making great experiences.”
“Sweat Fixx is not only a great workout, but also an amazing supportive community. The instructors cater to all fitness levels, providing alternatives and options throughout class. It's particularly great for soon to be and new moms!”
“This gym is one of a kind! A gorgeous gym that is well kept and well equipped! (and located on a lovely park/water space) The programing is fantastic, allowing for appropriate scaling when needed/wanted. The community is AMAZING, have found great friends here both in and outside the gym. There are community events and fundraisers very regularly that not only build the gym community but also support meaningful impact. Have loved this gym and community and sad to move away from it.”
“Dropped into CFN twice this week and have nothing but positive feelings about this place. Classic CrossFit class format with stretching, strength, and a metcon. Worked with coaches Alayna and Jack. Both couldn’t be more friendly and attentive to the athletes/community. Witnessed them assist adapt the workouts for newer athletes as well as critique the more seasoned gym-goers. CFN also has a very welcoming community which always enhances the overall fitness experience. Plenty of room, clean facility, and amazing people. Would strongly recommend for anyone living in the area looking for fun yet challenging workouts or dropping in for a couple of days. Thanks for having me, I’ll be back.”

“I have been a client at Activate since it’s start and feel that Julie and Daniel are the best in the business. They have extensive knowledge of fitness and how to train and the experience to know when to push me to do better without injury or real discomfort. Activate is a very unique little gym that is personal, private and quiet. I am an older client who feels very safe in their workout environment and with them. Working on both my fitness and nutrition with Julie and Daniel is a seamless overlap and gives me the motivation and accountability I need. Having regular scheduled appointments works best for me and their facility is convenient, well equipped and set up for all types of training and fitness work. They make it fun. Nancy N”
