“WE LOVE THIS PLACE!! My sister booked the appointment for me because we are definitely on a budget and it had great reviews. We booked it seven months out from the wedding to give ourselves time to shop around. But WE FOUND THE DRESS! Not only that, but we had a FANTASTIC experience with Missy. She was so sweet and truly considered what I wanted. She pulled dresses I never would have thought would have worked but did, and helped me thoroughly understand the ways they could be altered to fit my personal style. I cannot recommend this place enough. If I could give them extra stars I would!! Definitely recommending them to all my friends getting married!!! Thank you so much, Missy and Fairytale Brides!!!!”
“Great organization, impressed with the thoroughness of their process. My adoption coordinator Courtney was fantastic to work with and a great help in the decision making when it came to choosing the "right" dog. Highly encourage you to attend the weekend events they hold locally to meet all the [pets up for adoption.”
“My puppy and I are in our third class at YDF. The space is well-appointed, there are multiple different classes to choose from, and the price is accessible and competitive. More importantly, however, the trainers are incredibly thoughtful and kind. They understand that they are ultimately training owners, not dogs, and they help break things down for the densest of us :) I have specifically taken classes with Sarah Stoycos and Morgan Stroup, and they are wonderful. They are so patient with all my questions, and I feel like my understanding of dog psychology has truly improved. But one of the behind-the-scenes gems of YDF is the coordinator, Nicole. She is incredibly organized and goes above and beyond to help owners access the resources I need. The other day she called me after hours just to talk through a struggle I was having and offer practical suggestions towards resources that might help. So grateful for Nicole and the YDF volunteers!”

“I always go when it's hot, it's delicious, there's a little stream at the bottom, and when it's cold with snow, it's charming and fantastic for sliding in the snow.”
“The people that I talked with were polite and efficient. I sent an email and the next day they were on the phone setting up the donation. The tow truck arrived the following day within the time frame I was given. Everything was handled very well.”
“Celebrating a Milestone at the Women's Club of Bethesda
Recently, we had the joy of hosting my husband’s 80th birthday party at the Women's Club of Bethesda, and it was an experience we'll cherish forever.
From the outset, the staff at the Women's Club of Bethesda were attentive. The venue itself exuded charm and elegance, providing a sophisticated backdrop for the festivities. With its tasteful decor and cozy ambiance, it felt like the perfect setting to honor a milestone as significant as an 80th birthday.
The Women's Club of Bethesda operates as a modest 501(c)(3) organization promoting and supporting civic activities and public welfare, so don't anticipate extravagant frills or state of the art payment process. Nonetheless, their provision of seating and tables for up to 115, coupled with the flexibility to engage a licensed caterer and bartender of your preference and to bring your own beverages, creates a harmonious equilibrium. Did I mentioned parking is included too! It’s the perfect venue for your next special event—look no further than the Women's Club of Bethesda!”
“I'm a member and have been since 2003. We're a community of Jewish-Christian couples, offering a Sunday school, weekly gathering and support. It's a great community, we've found a welcoming supportive space. We now meet at Charles E Smith JDS on East Jefferson in Rockville MD.”
“Tucked away in a charming neighborhood, Meridian House feels like a secret garden oasis. The historic mansion itself is a photographer's dream, boasting elegant interiors with rich details that transport you to another era. But the real showstopper is the expansive garden. Lush greenery, meticulously maintained landscaping, and a variety of charming nooks and crannies create a backdrop that's both versatile and breathtaking. My couple and I were spoilt for choice when it came to finding picture-perfect spots!
This engagement session at Meridian House has only solidified my love for this venue. The atmosphere, combined with the professional and friendly staff, makes it an ideal location for any couple seeking an iconic engagement session location. IG @daniellerealphotography”

“We took a Spanish 2 class to visit the MCI and had the best time! Our guide gave us a step by step tour of the historical building and added plenty of age-appropriate trivia and information. “We've attended two marriage retreats here, one of which was our Pre-cana, and they both exceeded our expectations. They do an amazing job with the structure of the retreats, which tie together relationship psychology and faith. I cannot recommend this enough. Members are advisors to government and top scientists in their disciplines. The building is not a public museum. It sits across from the Mall and south of the Department of State. Not really a tourist spot, although there is a wonderful statue of Albert Einstein out front yhat offers a photo opportunity for visitors.”

“At a time when we're seeing the real-world effects of our smug self-assurance about our ability to safely produce nuclear power, it's important to realize that we don't have all the answers. It's fine to be wrong in love, or about people, or even in politics; but when you're wrong about something as dangerous as nuclear power, the consequences can be devastating. Look at what is happening in Japan. It's a tragedy that the only country ever to have been attacked with nuclear weapons--a country that has a proud history since the end of World War II of peacemaking and opposition, at least among individual citizens, to imperialism--is suffering the consequences for believing so deeply in its own technological prowess. And if it can happen in Japan, with its cultural attention to detail and strong sense of collective responsibility, imagine what could happen here. There's lots of proof that mistakes are made all the time in the nuclear-power industry. But rather than being admitted to, these mistakes are lied about, covered up. The United States federal agency tasked with regulating the nuclear industry is one of the most corrupt in the government. It usually plays the role of cheerleader. Nuclear power isn't green. The accidents at two separate power plants (and at least six different reactors) in Japan prove that. The radiation that has been leaked in the last few weeks will have devastating effects on human and environmental health for the rest of our lifetimes. And even without accidents, there's no safe way to store nuclear waste, which remains deadly for thousands of years. Nuclear power isn't safe. The tragedy in Japan happened because of a foreseeable act of nature, but even nukes far from fault lines are susceptible to terrorist attack. The September 11 planners actually considered attacking the nuclear power plant just a few miles from New York City. Had they gone through with that plan, far more than 3,000 would have perished on that horrible day. Nuclear power isn't cheap. No power company can obtain insurance on the open market for running a nuclear power plant. Nukes are "cheap" only because the government backs the loans and underwrites the insurance. So whether or not you agree with nuclear power, you are subsidizing it because your tax dollars are propping up the industry. Beyond Nuclear provides solid information to people like me who refuse to drink the nuke Kool-Aid. With the US raring to approve building permits for nuclear power plants for the first time since 1979, now is the time to join Beyond Nuclear. Accidents can and do happen. There's Three Mile Island. There's Chernobyl. There's Japan. But there is also a long list of other accidents and near accidents that no one ever talks about. California's two nuclear power plants are located on the ocean and on fault lines, making them susceptible to the same earthquake-tsunami combo that wreaked such havoc in Japan. Until those two plants are shut down, I'll proudly support Beyond Nuclear.”
