I trained at this place and decided to move onto karate and TaeKwonDo.I was impressed by the warming atmosphere from the instructors when I entered the dojo. The students welcomed me in and helped me learn techniques. The masters gave lots of attention to their students. Would definitely recommend this place to train.

Superb dojo conveniently located near Metro in Silver Spring, MD. In addition to aikido, this is one of the few places in the US where you can get deep training in Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto ryu.

Capital Aikikai was founded in 1973 and has provided a continuous program of Aikido training in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area ever since. All people who wish to practice are welcome.
Previous martial arts experience is not required to begin practice, and at all levels, you'll find aikido practice to be quite social and cooperative. In aikido we practice with each other, not against each other.
The teaching staff at Capital Aikikai is one of the most diverse and experienced in the United States. All instructors are members of the Capital Aikido Federation, affiliated with Hombu Dojo,Tokyo.
