“Went here to have a painting framed that was left to me by my grandmother. It was treated with the utmost respect and care. The final framing product was perfect.”

“If you're ever in Washington DC, this is a must-visit. It's free and you get to see some amazing quality art. The curators are very friendly and you can meet many of the artists who work there. There are so many pieces on display, I'd recommend setting aside at least four hours to explore. I also highly recommend the contemporary art in the east wing.”

“This is an absolutely gorgeous space to see the work of talented local artists. There are often 2 exhibits at a time and during the opening receptions the artists mingle amongst the guests to talk about their work and the creative process. There is also a lively shop where you can purchase unique pieces from featured and past exhibitors.”

“I came here for a paw print tattoo to memorialize my beloved cat. I'd never had a tattoo before, so I was a little nervous. The folks at Trilogy Atelier were wonderful from the minute we walked in. John, the owner, checked me in and sympathized with me about the death of my cat. He shared how he'd his St. Bernard passed four years ago and he still was grieving. That told me I was in the right place.Fabio was the artist I selected (at the recommendation of a friend). I watched him sanitize the work area. He did a great job of taking her paw print and aligning it with her name. He adjusted the stencil placement at my request by a half an inch. He used a small cordless tattoo gun with a single-use, sterile disposable needle – much friendlier than the big metal ones I remembered seeing in movies. And it didn't actually hurt all that much! The finished tattoo looks so good - you can see the details from where the fur between her toes touched the paper. The fine line tattoo for her name is crisp and clean.Afterwards, John was so excited for me to have joined the tattoo club. He remarked on the wrist placement – that it can be painful, though he didn't necessarily want to tell me that – and Fabio noted that I sat like a champ.I was given clear instructions on how to care for it (SecondSkin for a couple of days, and how to remove that when it was time), and told to call or email with any questions or concerns.I would recommend Trilogy Atelier to anyone who needs/wants a tattoo. I am so grateful to have this small piece of my cat with me forever - and to wear my heart on my sleeve, so to speak. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.”

“There are two stores that are generally opened in the arts center. The vintage shop and book store by visiting there is always awesome. I also enjoy the changing exhibitions as well as the community events.”

“Both cookbooks by Marcella are staples in my kitchen, and her shop is a go-to for all types of inspiring gifts. Her artistry is intentional and she offers a wide variety of ways to enjoy her illustrations. If you're in the DC area, sign up for a watercolor & cocktail workshop. It was one of the funnest experiences!”

“Excellent way to present the life and works of this talented and interesting artist. I learned a lot about him, in a highly engaging way. And I loved how the interactive experience allowed us to go inside his paintings and really feel them using all of our senses.I just wish the tickets were more affordable! Paying almost $150 for a couple to spend one hour at the museum (including VR) is overpriced.”

“The Torpedo Factory Art Center is a great place to visit any time of year. Whether you are a resident of the D.C. area or visiting from out of town, you are sure to find a piece of art (or wearable art) as there is a great variety of media and styles. As you have probably read, it located in what started out as a U.S. Torpedo Naval munitions factory that was opened in 1918. The factory remained fully operational until 1945 which marked the end of WWII. Fortunately, the building was sold to the city of Alexandria and eventually became what it is today. On our recent visit, we purchased a lovely piece by Pedro Ledesma III who is located in space 7. Pedro is a very gifted photographer who has a gallery with photos of subjects including ones of nature and people. We also had the honor of meeting him on the day of our visit and purchase. Pedro's gallery and the Old Torpedo Factory are definitely worth visiting while in the area.”

“The store is clean and well decorated. They offer a lot of Japanese hand made tableware. And many kimonos and clothing from Japan. The owner is friendly and helpful.”

“Absolutely fabulous experience. Brought in an old, beaten-up frame and a high-res picture file -- George printed a beautiful giclée on canvas and framers put it together seamlessly. After a negative experience at another print shop where they condescendingly and incorrectly told me they couldn't make this piece happen, KH brought it to life. Thank you!!!!!”

“We had the most wonderful, intimate, courtyard wedding at the Atheneum! The team was a pleasure to work with, quick to respond, and answered all our questions. The venue was stunning!”

“Love it. However, it isn't a place for a quick stop unless you know just what you are looking for. The best part is browsing, that mood of wanting to buy that something special, be it jewelry or an item of home decor either for yourself or someone important in your life. Rusty is knowledgeable and very interesting. If you ask him, he will guide you in the right direction. It is easy to find, just off of King Street, on Lafayette. It is too bad that the city made them take down the purple balloons.”

“Great little gem in Alexandria Old Town. If you’re a book person and you’re looking for something special, you should definitely visit Bernard’s store. Carefully curated selection of books and Bernard will be happy to give you recommendations if you’d like to. :-) We’ll be back!”

“Beautiful experience on Christmas Eve at the ice rink at the Sculpture Garden, we enjoyed the ambience and environment, it really is majestic to skate in the shadow of the nations monuments and National Archives, it was a beautiful day for our intro to the ice. Tickets are only available on site before skate sessions that start at the top of the hour. The Ice is cleared 15 minutes before the end of the skate session for maintenance, this includes the Zamboni run, and if you have smaller children as I do, they may also enjoy this part. Although no skating aids are available, we ventured out into the ice for the first time and enjoyed pulling ourselves along the way. It was a great Christmas Eve activity for my family”

“So cute! You MUST visit if you are looking for new dishware. The designs vary by artist, but they are so heartwarming and special. The different styles are incredible, and some are based on the local flora and fauna, making them unique to the area. You can even meet the artists!”

“I'd like to add another well-deserved five star review for International Art Gallery and Custom Framing. I recently brought in my own frame (purchased used and with another print already inside) and a print that I wished to have installed and custom matted for that frame, and we received excellent attention and advice on the best way to make the print fit and how best to accommodate it with a new mat. The proportions of the new print and the old frame were close but not a perfect match and so I knew some compromises would be required, and the owner (I think it was - I'm sorry we didn't get your name!) walked us through the various possibilities, pros and cons of what I wished to do.The end result is perfect, the compromises so minimal that I don't even remember what they were, and he even made some cosmetic touch ups to the used frame which had a scuff here and there. Our living room now looks that much better with our print framed and looking great, and we'll certainly be back as we continue slowly outfitting our house with artwork. I can highly recommend you visit International Art Gallery and Custom Framing and have them handle any framing work!”

“For your framing needs, I brought a nice picture and they put it into a very nice frame and the price was very reasonable, I will be back and very highly recommended.”

“I came to the museum last year for the now-closed Yayoi Kusama exhibit a year ago. It was such a beautiful and unique exhibit, even though it was disappointing to have about 30 seconds in the infinity mirrors space, and you had to move fast due to the crowd. The gift shop is pretty nice, as you can get a inflatable lamp, and some unique puzzles. Gelato here is pretty good, but I do think they would attract more people if they sold sandwiches or bagels to go with the coffee you can buy from the shop. Also, the main floor, which is where you check in with security is a bit crowded.Tomorrow is the last day to see the Simone Leigh exhibit, but for those who love poetry, there's also the Jessica Diamond: Wheel of Life that will be there until June. I do think the temporary exhibits are what makes Hirshhorn a unique museum as there's not much to see with the Barbara Kruger exhibit. Pickett's Charge is pretty nice, and you will often find yourself walking around the entire museum through that exhibit. For tourists, I would recommend one trip a year. Hirshhorn not a museum that you would want to keep coming back to as it can get repetitive. Definitely check for the temporary exhibits because that's what makes this museum great.”

“Purchased art from this gallery after some shopping around and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and warm, plus very knowledgeable and passionate about the art itself. You can tell they all love what they do!I don't live in the area so I chose to have the art shipped home. It was done very carefully and professionally, and arrived as expected and in perfect condition.Just couldn't be happier with my experience with Principle Gallary and can't wait to purchase some art again soon.”

“An amazing use of space in an abandoned old trolley station. It's currently a work in progress and only a portion of it is open, but it's worth checking out. It has so much potential! I can't wait to see the finished product!”

“The Theater and Show was great! I was surprised to find that the seats were very comfortable and we had leg room. Drinks were a little pricey but good, and they had plenty of restaraunts for your palate. The Casino was okay I won 370 dollars on penny slots, but high betting started at 25 dollars on tables. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed Diana Ross!”

“I love district clay center! I highly recommend it as an introductory pottery studio. It is a large teaching studio (the largest in the area). The teachers are great and knowledgeable. Once you get in a class you are able to drop in on any other scheduled classes to practice. Getting off the waitlist can be a challenge, I recommend signing up for as many waitlists as possible.”

“Exceptional client experience and beautiful jewelry. I was traveling from the West Coast and used to live in the DC metro area. I've always loved the Torpedo Art Center, but when I met Natalie Abrams I was completely taken with her work. Her jewelry is simple, yet elegant. I chose a necklace that I liked, but she didn't have the chain width or length at that time. I chose another chain and Natalie discussed sending it to me because I was only in town for a couple of days. A couple days later Natalie sent me an email stating she was excited to find the exact chain and was very happy with for me. I received the necklace a few days later and it was just perfect - the exact length and chain width. I have received so many compliments. I tell everyone where I purchased it and have directed them to Natalie's website. Not only is Natalie an exceptional artist, but she is truly committed to creating a great client experience.”
