“Dr. Quigley and the vet tech listened to my concerns and treated myself and my pet with respect. My dog is very nervous at vets, and the vet tech and Dr. Quigley were patient and made him feel comfortable. He even laid down and relaxed during the appointment, which he never does! The room was very clean and quiet. Dr. Quigley is very knowledgeable and gave me a ton of information to help me care for my dog. I was given a prescription diet and advice to help my dog now that he is a senior.”

“Our 17 year old dog was really struggling so we took him in yesterday, fearing the worst. Of course, an hour or so before our appt., the dog showed new signs of life & was was running everywhere. Spoiler alert: We brought him home. We consulted with Dr. Burbrink upon arrival. She was unbelievable. She came in, sat with us, told us that we can expect many more ups and downs, then examined our dog and gave him some meds for muscles and for pain. He seems to be doing much better. We know we're only buying time, but it's important time. Dr. Burbrink was so kind, so understanding, so patient. she took the time to explain to us what was going on with him and the intended goal of the treatment plan. She got down on the floor to examine him and was so nice to him. He doesn't always tolerate people, but she was great and the dog was nice to her. But I really wanted to post a review because she really was just exceptional.”

“Dr Prime is a wonderful Veterinarian ! She is very professional and you can tell she loves her profession. She and her Assistant were very kind and caring to our pet-treated her as if she was their own. The office is well staffed and very friendly. They keep you up to date and do everything to make your visit pleasant.”

“Dr. L. Gomez is thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate. She patiently answered all of my zillion questions. I took my dog to Fort Hunt Animal Hospital after her limp continued to get worse. Dr. Gomez took her time explaining everything to me and kept me updated throughout the day while she sedated my dog to do tests. When I went to pick up my dog LaLa, Dr. Gomez reviewed all the x-rays and information from the exam and prepared a thorough discharge packet. I trust her with my dogs life and am confident that my dog is getting the best care.”

I immediately knew without a doubt that Dr. Shackelford was going to be our vet going forward. She has been with us through the loss of two of our dogs due to age and even sat with us on the floor, crying and comforting us when we lost one of our beloved hounds. We have moved out of the Woodbridge area but that hasn't stopped us from making the drive so that our pups get the best care and attention not only from Dr. Shackelford but from the rest of the incredible staff at this location.We always feel like we have her undivided attention, she listens to our concerns, answers our questions and gives us her honest advice and opinions. When we have needed referrals she has provided great recommendations. We would follow her anywhere in the DMV if it meant we were able to ensure our dogs were able to receive their care from her.”

They both carefully explained the diagnosis, processes, and treatment. I like that they emailed me the medical documents after the visit. “River Oaks is the absolutely best Vet office I have ever used. After 40 years of having pets I always left the Vets office feeling like they were more concerned building my bill than my animals. When I got Daisy a year ago I was determined to find a small practice with a common sense old fashion Doctor. I am delighted to say that's exactly what I found with Dr. Scott Mckorkindale and is fabulous staff.
I brought Daisy in for her first physical, later had her spayed. Today I brought her in her shots and flee, tick and heart worm prevention. Not only was I not charged for a office visit Dr. Mckorkindale shaved and cleaned around her eyes.
