“Friendly, efficient, and most important, took time to explain my pet's health issues and to recommend the most efficient and effective treatment. Was given a prompt appointment. Treatment done and received a call with full details. Received a full report again when I arrived to collect her. Additional, in-home, treatments recommended. So happy I took the recommendation for Crossroads and Dr. Reppuhn is outstanding.”

“Our very old. Quaker parakeet is quite sick. We had him to an emergency vet when we were traveling and knew we needed to see a local vet. I am so grateful to have an avian vet almost in our neighborhood. In years passed, this wasn't even a possibility so we were very happy to find Ridge Lake animal hospital. The staff there is wonderful. The intake worker seems to have an incredible amount of knowledge which was not expected and a pleasant surprise. He was both reassuring and quite helpful. The nurse assistant was very kind and gentle in caring for our poor old bird. The vet seems to be truly knowledgeable about birds. Birds are quite different from many pets and a bit difficult to treat. Her knowledge has quite helpful to us. She has been willing to take the time to speak with us at length and to send us information that we need. An added plus is that she doesn't seem push too many tests right out of the gate the way other places have. Yet she is more than willing to order whatever tests are needed. The whole staff is very compassionate and patient, which is something any pet owner with a sick animal is going to appreciate. I highly recommend Ridge Lake animal hospital”

“Some reviews said this clinic was out for a dollar, but it's business, they have to make money. As far as personnel go they are very kind, professional, and polite. I am a new patient and they worked with my Teo big dogs and managed their care while I also had my human children in tow. From receptionist, tech, doctor, and paperwork, I am very happy with my experience and think my dogs are in good hands.”

“Old Bridge Vet has been our veterinarian ever since we moved to Virginia. They helped us through a difficult time with our dog Bella when she passed away earlier this year. They were compassionate and caring. Our new dog Peggy is well taken care of also by them. I would highly recommend them to any pet owners in the Lake Ridge area. They also provide kennel services which we have used several times. Always with great results. I should also mention the employees there. They are very friendly and you can just tell they love animals. Pricing is about the norm for any vet and they also provide a military discount.”

“I recently went to Dale City Animal Hospital w a foster cat I have. They recently moved and have a new facility which is large, clean and very welcoming. I got an appointment approximately a week or so after I called. The front desk staff was courteous and nice and I was checked in right after arriving. I did wait a little for my appointment but that’s pretty standard for a veterinary office. We saw Dr Drake whom I found to be very informative and was willing to listen to my concerns, which I had a lot of. I really liked the way she seems to summarize her findings and she was gentle and compassionate with my foster who is an older cat who has not had the best life before coming into our rescue. I was very happy with her plan of action and her recommendations. She called me as soon as she had the lab results which I appreciated and gave me an outline of what our next steps should/could be. Again, I found her to be very informative in her explanations and the possible plan of treatment. I was very surprised when my phone rang at 8:15 tonight and showed DCAH. She had received a lab test we were waiting on and had taken time out of her busy day (when she probably just wanted to get home) to let me know the outcome. I thought that was pretty great. All in all, I’m very very pleased with everything at this location and I consider myself to be pretty picky, and Dr Drake is a caring vet whom has a great “bedside” manner, or should I say table side manner ?. Thank you DCAH and Dr Drake for being so good to my sweet foster boy who deserves the best after his first 12-15 years of life which were not so great.”

“Took my little dog who was sick to VCA for ER services. They took care of him and kept him for fluid and medicine. It was a little expensive but it was worth it. They took good care of him and I picked him up in the afternoon feeling better. Everyone one at VCA were so kind and helpful as always.”

“I found a colony of homeless cats in an industrial area when I moved into Belmont Bay 12 years ago. At extremely low cost, they helped me with getting the cats fixed and all their shots. I kept 14 cats. I take them back annually for shots and flea treatments. They save me hundreds of dollars annually. They are great people who work extremely hard keeping the homeless cat population down. They also help low income people get their pets fixed and get their shots. Great organization!!!”

“Late post-but I must share. Our fur baby Mason was three months old and suddenly gravely I'll. Google told us to take him to the hospital in Lake Ridge. We made the late-night drive and had him accessed. A few hours later, we were met with a grave diagnosis-Kidney failure and imminent death. We were advised to have him euthanized or allow him to suffer with pain. My Infantry-Man husband refused to accept the diagnosis. I immediately went back to prayers. We wrapped Mason in his blinkie and cried all the way home. His body was limb and his eyes told us he was in pain. Then through divine intervention we called River Oakes the next morning. We faxed the documents to them, had a conversation with an angel of a woman on the other end. She said - BRING HIM IN NOW! She spoke with authority, empathy and compassion all at the same time. We did exactly that! None of our clothes matched, we looked horrible after holding, praying and crying over a dog who was now passing blood. When we handed Mason over, we were met with an immediate plan of action. DEATH was not spoken over our fur baby. I was reassured- Tough Guy aka my husband looked relieved. Mason was immediately taken to the back and the care plan was implemented. We were advised that he would have a hospital stay there for a few days. Two days later, the nurse sends me a video of our dog walking in the garden area. I yelled out a praise so loud that it scared my Yorkie, my husband ended his business call- took my phone in the bathroom and cried as he watched the video. I wasn't supposed to know he was crying. When he came back to my presence we prayed again and watched the video four or five more times. Our rambunctious fur baby was back to himself. When we called, we were told that he had to stay a little longer for observations, but we were able to visit him. The staff was sending videos every day. We danced and praised GOD for River Oakes and the entire staff. If Mason could speak our language he would say "Thank You and He Loves You All". We bought him home totally recovered. Its as though nothing happened. I don't know what they did in the back room-but whatever it was, It was a manifestation of God's power through people! My family and I are truly thankful!”

“When I moved to NOVA in 2014, I went to VCA Woodbridge out of convenience since it was so close to where I lived. I immediately knew without a doubt that Dr. Shackelford was going to be our vet going forward. She has been with us through the loss of two of our dogs due to age and even sat with us on the floor, crying and comforting us when we lost one of our beloved hounds. We have moved out of the Woodbridge area but that hasn't stopped us from making the drive so that our pups get the best care and attention not only from Dr. Shackelford but from the rest of the incredible staff at this location. We always feel like we have her undivided attention, she listens to our concerns, answers our questions and gives us her honest advice and opinions. When we have needed referrals she has provided great recommendations. We would follow her anywhere in the DMV if it meant we were able to ensure our dogs were able to receive their care from her.”
