“This is a national treasure, make sure you see the DaVinci, it's laid out earliest works to the west and newer to the east. There are revolving exhibitions currently, Paris 1874, which brings together most of the works of art the first time Impressionist artists put on a show. Going to the main gift shop leads to the cafeteria as well as one of the coffee spots, here you can enjoy coffee in a space I.M. Pei designed with pyramids looking out as well as a fountain wall, you can see his inspiration for his later Louvre work
Going through to the east wing you'll see Leo Villarreal's light installation multiverse, which you'll never see repeated. The east gallery showcases modern art in very large very open space make sure to check out all the towers as well as the outside exhibits.”

I got tattooed by Maria and she did an amazing job, not just with the tattoo itself but with her communication skills and attentiveness. I would definitely come back!”
“Every event I attend at Montpelier has been fantastic whether it's an art exhibit or jazz venue. Everything is arranged & performed professionally. Food at public their art openings are delicious ?”

524 Rhode Island Ave NE, Washington“Truly impressed. This was the Tutankhamun Experience. I've been to Egypt visiting the Valley of the Kings and Tutankhamun's tomb and London to see the Rosetta Stone. The exhibit spaces were very spacious. There were a lot of people, but I didn't feel crowded. You could easily see the exhibits and take pictures. I also enjoyed the audio guide. The information is good and easy to listen to. The exhibit is laid out in three sections plus a 10 minute film: (1) Audio/ Visual Introduction, 10 minute film, guided audio visual discovery, and then more indepth info on various items found (2 rooms). I loved the brilliant colors. You could go at your own pace. We spent about 2 hours here.”

I’ll be returning for all my framing”
“There are two stores that are generally opened in the arts center. The vintage shop and book store by visiting there is always awesome. I also enjoy the changing exhibitions as well as the community events.”

1625 K St NW, Washington“I'd like to add another well-deserved five star review for International Art Gallery and Custom Framing. I recently brought in my own frame (purchased used and with another print already inside) and a print that I wished to have installed and custom matted for that frame, and we received excellent attention and advice on the best way to make the print fit and how best to accommodate it with a new mat. The proportions of the new print and the old frame were close but not a perfect match and so I knew some compromises would be required, and the owner (I think it was - I'm sorry we didn't get your name!) walked us through the various possibilities, pros and cons of what I wished to do.The end result is perfect, the compromises so minimal that I don't even remember what they were, and he even made some cosmetic touch ups to the used frame which had a scuff here and there. Our living room now looks that much better with our print framed and looking great, and we'll certainly be back as we continue slowly outfitting our house with artwork. I can highly recommend you visit International Art Gallery and Custom Framing and have them handle any framing work!”
“We have now had several large photographs framed at Artistic Custom Framing. We were given good advice about the design of the frames and matting. The results were excellent -- the framing complements the photographs and enhances their presentation. The price is fair, and the service is prompt.”

1627 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington“I took my first ever reformer class with Zaina at Toolbox and I was super nervous to try the equipment and try something new. She clearly explained and guided us through the class. I will be back!”
“They fixed a shade for me. Everything was quick and painless. Even if you don’t need repairs or work with stained glass yourself I would check them out. It’s beautiful inside.”

3700 Otis St, Mt Rainier“I had a wonderful time at Washington Glass School. Everyone was so kind, passionate and helpful! I felt comfortable even though I had never worked with glass before and will definitely be returning to more classes in the future. I'm so glad there is a local place to be around creative minds!”
“Both cookbooks by Marcella are staples in my kitchen, and her shop is a go-to for all types of inspiring gifts. Her artistry is intentional and she offers a wide variety of ways to enjoy her illustrations. If you're in the DC area, sign up for a watercolor & cocktail workshop. It was one of the funnest experiences!”
“Attended a celebration for this artist's book compiled as a series of zines. Gallery lovely with wide open space to view art by Sam Gilliam and other notables on their walls.”
“10 stars if I could!Excellent artworks. Fun gallery openings, everyone is sociable and talented. A great range of hand crafted items to choose from also. Plenty of workshops as well, well attended”
“What a surprise to visit an intimate theater (4-5 rows of theater seating) that puts you right there within the performance… We saw Niagara which was an outstanding time… Highly recommended!”
“The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink is a winter wonderland nestled in the heart of Washington, D.C. As you glide across the ice, you’re surrounded by the majestic sculptures of the garden, creating an experience that’s both visually stunning and delightfully fun. The rink offers a unique blend of art and recreation, set against the backdrop of the National Mall’s iconic landmarks. It’s a place where families and friends come together to make memories, against a soundtrack of laughter and the crisp sound of skates carving the ice. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or stepping onto the ice for the first time, the Sculpture Garden Ice Rink promises a magical experience that captures the joy of the season.”
“An amazing use of space in an abandoned old trolley station. It's currently a work in progress and only a portion of it is open, but it's worth checking out. It has so much potential! I can't wait to see the finished product!”
“This is an absolutely gorgeous space to see the work of talented local artists. There are often 2 exhibits at a time and during the opening receptions the artists mingle amongst the guests to talk about their work and the creative process. There is also a lively shop where you can purchase unique pieces from featured and past exhibitors.”
10AM - 5:30PM
Independence Ave SW &, 7th St SW, Washington“I came to the museum last year for the now-closed Yayoi Kusama exhibit a year ago. It was such a beautiful and unique exhibit, even though it was disappointing to have about 30 seconds in the infinity mirrors space, and you had to move fast due to the crowd. The gift shop is pretty nice, as you can get a inflatable lamp, and some unique puzzles. Gelato here is pretty good, but I do think they would attract more people if they sold sandwiches or bagels to go with the coffee you can buy from the shop. Also, the main floor, which is where you check in with security is a bit crowded.Tomorrow is the last day to see the Simone Leigh exhibit, but for those who love poetry, there's also the Jessica Diamond: Wheel of Life that will be there until June. I do think the temporary exhibits are what makes Hirshhorn a unique museum as there's not much to see with the Barbara Kruger exhibit. Pickett's Charge is pretty nice, and you will often find yourself walking around the entire museum through that exhibit. For tourists, I would recommend one trip a year. Hirshhorn not a museum that you would want to keep coming back to as it can get repetitive. Definitely check for the temporary exhibits because that's what makes this museum great.”
“Stable Arts is one of the best things going in DC for artist. I love it's location in Eckington and I encourage everyone to contribute and check out their public events.”
“The tattoo artist was very patient, professional and understanding. Had a pretty good conversation with him. The tattoo I got was on my upper arm and it kinda tickled rather than hurt. If live in the DMV or visiting while you’re willing to get a tattoo, that’s the place to go I promise it’s worth it. It’s pretty affordable depending on what you get.”
“A great selection of cards, paper, and other gifts made by local artists. I haven't taken any of the classes, but if you are into crafts and art it seems to offer amazing skills and equipment.”
