The branch manager has been there since the beginning and she and her staff are always very friendly and helpful. In all that time we have never had a problem with the bank. In fact, they watch out for you. In one case, I goofed with a transfer between accounts causing a possible significant overdraft situation and the manager called me to make me aware and helped me correct the problem immediately. Recently they made me aware of a special interest for CD's where I was able to consolidate a few smaller accounts into one at a much better rate. These were IRA CD's that had different expiration dates. Knowing that once I'm gone, these IRA's would have to be split and dispersed individually to the heirs made this a good reason for combining them. The penalties incurred would be quickly recovered with the new interest rate earned.My hope is that nothing changes. Oh! “Our journey with SECU started in Nov. 2021. If we had begun with this particular branch with Kristie and her manager, it probably would have been completed in November. However, we started online and on the phone. Getting connected with anyone through the phone on the main line is always a hit or miss prospective. We were passed around to no less then 6 different reps who all made mistakes and we had to start the whole process of acquiring a HELOC 4 separate times.Each time someone submitted incorrect or incomplete information and the application was denied. We would call, never speak to the same person of course, but after holding for a real person to speak with you for over 20 mins each time I couldn't be choosy.Without going through the whole ordeal in detail, we were finally connected with the supervisor who restarted the process. At this time I contacted Kristie at the Ellicott City branch office. She and her manager were actually the icing on the cake. Literally, they went over ALL the documents with a fine tooth comb and made sure that they were submitted correctly and completely, which was flubbed by another branch, smoothed everything over. What took almost 3 months, they succeeded in 1 week.We went into the Ellicott City branch to close on the loan and Kristie, again very meticulously went over every sheet of the doc to make sure there would be absolutely no reason for the loan to be rescinded, especially due to thoughtless and sloppy procedures. She rechecked and asked her manager to recheck all the docs so that not one signature or initial was missing. Thank you, both for showing us how it should have been done in the first place.”

“I have banked here since I was practically a kid and have never had anything but good experiences. Their customer service is exceptional. Mike and Lela went above and beyond to help me with a document that I had requested. They didn't have to do this for me but they took the time to assist me anyway and get me exactly what I needed. I've bothered Mike quite a few times over the course of the last couple of weeks and he was nothing but friendly and helpful. Thank you so much to both of them and all of the other employees at this location!I've also had issues in the past with my card information being stolen and my card was shut down immediately and any money (though it was very insubstantial) was returned to me right away. This saved me the headache and lost money that I've personally seen so many others have to go through when their bank is not willing to help that customer nor return the money back that was stolen from them.Wonderful service!”

“So I just opened an account online and I finally had to break down and go inside the bank and speak to someone. parking was okay. The wait time to sit down and speak with someone was less than five minutes. They actually had enough employees working on this Saturday morning to get people in and out which was a plus. Let me tell you a secret... I hate the bank and I try to avoid it at all costs. LOL.. I am so glad it's 2019 and things are done online and through other electronic devices. While here I got everything accomplished in less than ten minutes. My bank rep was very knowledgable and knew how to accommodate all of my grievances. Hopefully everything will be great and I don't have to go to the bank until next year. I figured I would get a bank account across the U.S since I travel a lot. My poor little credit unions only have five Maryland locations. I know for a fact that Wells Fargo is better than Bank of America.”
