“While we’re not regular patients here, they were there in our time of need. The staff are kind and helpful, the vets caring and thoughtful. Ultimately we had to make the decision to have our dog put down, which was not expected. Dr. Taylor was delicate about my feelings and was kind enough to provide a comforter for our pup to lay on while I said my good-byes. Knowing that she was comfortable and in good hands made this very heart breaking experience a little easier to deal with. Thank you to all!”
“Abby is a very anxious 12 year old Beagle mix who has been seeing Dr. Ruth on most visits. She is always very thorough in her exams and conscientious about Abby's anxiety. The vet tech Michael was friendly and gentle with Abby as well. I have never in 12 years had a bad experience at Veterinary Housecall Service. Keep up the great work!!”

“We followed Dr Steinberg here about 40 years ago and have never once looked back. All of my kitties have been coming here for years and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I love the staff! They are patient and accommodating, which helps so much (my little old man has gotten cranky in his golden years - and they are so good to him ?)
Dr. Buchanan is an angel - we are trying to stick with her only because my geriatric kitty (17.5yo) is starting to show signs of his age and we need that continuity of care now. But prior to this I have been willing to see any doctor. Again, we have been coming here for almost 40 years I've never had a doc i didn't like or didn't trust.

“Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty took great care of my cat, who was first there for an emergency and then needed a preventative surgery. The doctors called me daily (and sometimes twice a day) to update me on my cat’s status during his stay. They also sent doctors’ notes daily to me and our regular vet via email, even without me asking them to do so. They were also clear upfront on what the total cost might be. And even after a discharge, a staff sent a follow-up email to check how my cat’s doing. Overall, I had a great experience, and I think my cat did too, considering the circumstances. I would recommend this place to other pet owners.”
“Today I thought I was going to have to put my 20yr old cat Angel I inherited from my mother to sleep because she was very sick. My dog Bodi is already a very happy patient of Bay Country and they treat him like a big baby, he loves going for visits! So I called about my cat and they got her in immediately and came to the conclusion she has a bladder infection and could be treated and would be fine. They were SO patient and understanding and loving with her and it was a lot cheaper than I thought it would be. She is a pretty feisty cat so I was worried how she'd let them treat her and she melted in their arms not even budging when she got a needle. Bay Country saved my dog Bodi from losing his best friend today and saved our family from a lot of heartache. We cannot thank them enough!! We will never go to any other vet as long as Bay Country is in business!!??????”

“Dr. Hamilton (and my breeder) saved my dog who was born with a clef palette, so I always bring this dog to see her when there is a problem. She and her staff are always professional, accommodating and spot-on with their diagnoses, care and treatment. It's not always what we want to hear, but it is what we need to hear, and Dr. Hamilton is very good at identifying options.”
“Look, here’s the deal! I moved here from DC in 2002. It took me months to feel like the first home WE bought was actually ours!
Took time to also get used to the different culture and lifestyle. We were not “boaters.”
The biggest surprise of all though was how much the town truly is, “A Dogs’ Town!”
Being a dog person it only made sense that I might have moved to the right place!
Bay Ridge Animal Hospital has made tough decisions that have either “helped us make THOSE difficult decisions” or have kept so many of our dogs ALIVE.
They are not perfect! No one is! But they give a damn and their expertise shows it!
Have faith, be kind and believe - this IS the first place I go to for my pet needs. It’s not cheap, but anything that is worth it when it comes to your family members, you GET UP. Thank you after all of these years and about 8 animals!”
“It was our first visit here. Our dog's back legs suddenly gave out. They triaged him immediately upon arrival but then there was a 6-8hr wait to see the doctor .Yikes. We stayed and made the best of the situation. They gave him meds to keep him comfortable. I sent my son to the store to get a crate as our dog would not endure sitting there for several hours in my lap. Finally got in with the doctor and was given our options on how to take care of our dog. Over all a good experience, just didn't like how long it took”
“I can't say enough good things about this place and everyone who works there. My mom took her dog to another vet who she LOVED in Annapolis and I really wanted to go there. Unfortunately, they weren't taking new clients at the time. A friend recommended Dr. Thomas/VCA, so we gave that a shot. She didn't have anything open at the time, so they booked me with another vet but then called be back the next day to let me know Dr. Thomas had an opening.. and the rest is history.
My labradoodle has a minor heart murmur as well as the world's most sensitive stomach and wildest allergies (with a very anxious dog dad, to boot..). Dr. Thomas has been amazing through it all. Brody and I would seriously follow her into a fire. She is so good at what she does... so thorough, always answers my (sometimes probably very annoying) questions and remembers every. single. detail. The entire staff is truly just the BEST! Like ... my ... dog ... loves going to the vet. That's how great they are!
And definitely do Care Club - it's so worth the $$ -- I'd pay for it just for the texting/live chat...

“The team at ADC is fantastic. While we didn't go in for a happy reason (advanced oral cancer consult), the team was kind and compassionate from making the appointment through the day of. They provided information and guidance, and were truly so thoughtful and sweet to both the pet and the parent in the face of a sad prognosis. “My Yorkie has been on the preferred care plan for almost 9 years now. Spreading out the cost for her care has been more manageable with the plan. The staff at reception are very helpful in making appointments especially if there is an emergency. I have seen all the veterinarians at this location and feel the quality of care is high. When my family has had to use their euthanasia service for our 3 elder cats dying of kidney failure, the doctors and staff are very kind and comforting.”
