“I am from out of state here in Mount Airy to help my daughter. I went to Ace and met Gary who helped me from finding the right plumbing hardware and what tools I needed.
Gary made me feel right at home. Extremely kind helpful from the start. Told me if I had any more questions, he would be at the store and come on back. While helping me, he would field other customers questions then right back to me. Reminded me of how customers used to be treated.
I returned to Ace, the next few days on several occasions. I felt as though Ace was a second home in Mount Airy, thanks to the warm smile of Gary and the rest of the staff. Thank you Gary. You made my stay here most pleasant.

24000 Frederick Rd, Clarksburg“I've been renting from the Clarksburg, MD location for about 10 years now and I've never had a bad experience. The equipment is always in good shape and they'll give you a quick run-through on how to operate anything. Just rented a backhoe and it was almost brand new. Great service and great equipment.”

15 N Main St, Mt Airy“I went here when I got stuck doing a DIY plumbing job. The owners were extremely nice and very knowledgeable. They helped me figure out my issue quickly, and honestly, I would have never figured that out in my own. Places like this show what we are missing out on when relying on the big guys like Home Depot and Lowe’s for everything.
Will definitely be back to support this business.”
“The most challenging aspect of making that quick 'special tool' run to Harbor Freight Tools (HFT) is finding yourself standing in the middle ofaffordable disposable tool heaven.
How are you getting on the web to find a new 14 inch chainsaw blade for that the Chicago 14-in electric chainsaw you bought from there flight 45 dollars on sale or whatever to find out that the dang thing has been recalled because the power switch tends to stay on. I'm considering yourself pretty pretty skillful that you still got all your digits. Call up harbor freight Central to find out what to do with a recall and they tell you to take it to your local store and they'll deal with it and if you want to that chainsaw blade you're going to have to get it from another local hardware store they're pretty common but they don't stock them there.”
“Walked in today to get puppy food. Left with a handful of amazing information giving to me by Jackie. I honestly feel some much better as a new pet owner after talking with her”
“Excellent service at this location in Gaithersburg! Dealt mainly with Santiago and Fernando, excellent reps of this establishment. I utilized TW Perry for a deck project, using them for roughly 90% of my materials and they were extremely professional. There were a few snags during the process, but both Santiago and Fernando made them right! It was a lot of materials that were ordered so small hiccups like missing parts (very small ones) and damaged items (most likely in transit) are to be expected. They credited me for the damages and even gave me the missing pieces, without giving me any grief. A++ I highly recommend this location, looking forward to my next project using them and will absolutely be referring people word of mouth style. Thank you Santiago and Fernando, you guys are awesome!”

19600 Frederick Rd unit e, Germantown“These guys are great, always helpful and friendly. I get my mower blades sharpened here every year. I used to get my chainsaws sharpened here too before buying the tool to do it myself. I still buy my new chainsaw chains from them. They are custom made to length and they beat box store prices on them. I was surprised to find several items they carry to be cheaper than box stores and even Amazon.”
“Total Professionals, always. It’s a real pleasure doing business with the folks at IHD. I have no hesitation recommending them to any security professional looking for a great price and a deep stocking warehouse.Vincent G. “Bobby” Smith, Jr., CMLCertified Master LocksmithWashington-Baltimore Region”
“Online purchase returned to the store was quick and easy. Employee was very professional.
In contrast to my recent experience at a competitor in the Kentlands, I could not be happier with this Home Depot and plan to give them more of my business.”
“The negative reviews are unfortunate to see. But I can certainly speak for myself. I had a fabulous experience with John today. Came in with a pretty niche product need that the local Home Depot did not have in stock. Without skipping a beat, John walked right over to the shelf, pulled down a box and handed me the EXACT part. John was a great listener, super knowledgeable and handled everything in under a few minutes. Top class service! Would strongly recommend this location for any plumbing needs. Thanks John!”
“So after going to a local nursery and looking at Christmas trees, attempting to shop local for the holiday... I just could not stomach paying that much of a premium for a local vendor. I'm 100% willing to chip in a bit extra to buy local. But this nursery, about 8 minutes away from Home Depot, was almost twice the price for a tree that was 2 feet shorter. Some of the cheapest trees there were 80 dollars, and they were a bit rough off. Most of the trees we're 109 and up. So I made my way over to this Home Depot and found a tree that's about 6.5 feet for about 60 bucks. I'm sorry local nursery. Like, I said- I'd be fine with a bit of a mark up... but not a 100 percent markup for a shorter tree. I'm sorry, I just can't stomach that ;/ In any event, I ran into this place and the guy in the nursery was SO helpful. He asked me a bunch of questions about the tree I wanted. I'm always a little bit lost when shopping for trees. Do I feel confident that I know the difference between a fraser fir, balsam fir, noble fir - absolutely not. Do I know the difference between those and a white pine... yes. I know A LITTLE something lol. Just not a lot of something. So the super nice guy took down some trees for me, cut off the netting and shook them out just so I could see all the branches. He was as nice as could be. Then, the young gentleman who attached the tree to the top of my car was also as pleasant as pie. Is that even a saying? It should be if it isn't one. He was a super nice guy who I found out has worked at Home Depot for 5 years now, and he's planning on going into the Air Force soon enough. He did a solid job of attaching my tree to my car roof, and he was even hesitant to accept a tip when I offered it. I did insist that he took it. All in all, a solid wonderful experience at Home Depot in Germantown getting a tree. It was secure as could be on the way home and I love how it looks all trimmed up :)”

“Went in yesterday and just needed some shear pins/bolts for my snow blower. I was helped right away and they had both bolts and pins available. As usual quick and personal service. Years ago I bought a large amount of lumber from here and the wood quality was so good. Way beyond what you find at the big box stores. Have bought many things over the years for my house. It is such a great thing having a quality locally owned neighborhood hardware store. Please support your local businesses when you can!!”
