“I only recently started going here and I don't know why. I think a long time ago when I came here it was different. I do like all their local merchandise for the area and the state of Maryland. I love the big spacious isles. It feels clean and organized. I will say that it's a little overwhelming when you first walk in. It's never very busy so I often wonder who is buying all this food that they they have that's in overabundance? I check the dates because of this. I just can't imagine that they sell these stacks and piles of nuts and candies. Endless amounts of bakery items too. Overall I do like going to this store. I especially like it when I go at night and there's hardly anybody in there and everybody's chill.”
“Lidl has a lot of strengths, including its bakery and meat department. You can save money by shopping here. Milk is a dollar a gallon cheaper than the place up the street (not Food Lion). The weak point is the check out line,. During the last two trips only self check and a poor associate who did full check out and had to deal with glitches on self-check was on hand. The security feature of using the bar code on the recieipt to get out of the store is confusing to the first timer and a heads up should be on the screen of the check out terminal. I have been twice recently and lines stack up when the other lanes are not open. They need to correct this or they will lose customers. Lots of choices in Bear.”

“I love this store and the prices. I generally stop here to get supplies for making charcuterie boards for parties, however I am missing the selection of jams and chutneys that they are now no longer selling. The middle assorted aisle looks a little of a hot picked over mess and I wish that the global food selection wasn't on so quick of rotation of stock. The chicken momos I got back in fall of last year were incredible, but I can only hope they will come back when that rotation comes back”
“This food Lion has the best employees. I shop here every week. Aunt, I go to the lunch meat counter and get lunch meat. Everybody that works. There is very friendly and helpful. I recommend chopping here for great prices and good deals and they have a lot of good options”
“Had a craving and bought 1/2 dzn oysters and 2 rockfish filets (sourced from Virginia)
Everything was absolutely delicious! I cut off skin and the red from filets. Cooked low in butter and OMG was delicious. Per owners recommendation I went with ? Oysters and they were fat and juicy and delicious. Can't wait to try something new next! Price was awesome considering quality!!!”
“I went back to Aldi because someone recommended them to me. I usually go to Lidl. Some prices were less than Lidl, and some prices were more than Lidl. Lidl has more products that I buy than Aldi. I like both places. You need to bring your own bags to both places.”
“More times than not they have what I need unless it's like a Sunday evening. Only four self-checkouts 2 for card's only 2 for cash only. Their staff is very sweet and kind and helpful. I've had a couple problems with the insta cart/ online shopping pick up order where my groceries were thrown into my trunk so much so I had to take a multiple photos of the blatant disrespect from the workers who brought the groceries out thrown and when I say throne I mean sodas have exploded bakery items for smashed and this isn't that big of a deal but they're usually is at least one order on our food store list that is not available. I don't find that as disgusting as exploding sodas that I have to clean out of my trunk because the groceries were just thrown in there barbarically. It's not every single time and only happened three times but 2 times it was the same person. I will all in all say that food Lion is my go-to grocery store they are the friendliest they helped the most the only problem I have like I said is with the throwing of the groceries from the insta cart online grocery pick-up.”

“Am in Food Lion every day almost. It is across the street from my home. I run my pit in their Backlot.
Personally I like the people that work here, they are all good people and help out when they can.”
“I love shopping at Food Lion! One of my favorite things is their small carts, they are perfect for when you just need to grab a few things. The produce section is outstanding! Their fruits and vegetables are consistently fresher and better quality than what I’ve found at other big-name stores in the area.
Prices are pretty balanced too. Some items may cost a bit more, but others are actually cheaper. I did a comparison with 35 identical items from Walmart, and the total at Food Lion was only $2.30 more — absolutely worth it for the better quality and experience.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. My little niece is a total social butterfly, and the employees are always so sweet and engaging with her. It really makes our shopping trips enjoyable. Highly recommend Food Lion!”

“Today was my first time visiting this location and it was wonderful. Sandie was so helpful and I couldn't thank her enough. I was exhausted, losing my voice, and needed balloons for a coworker's last day tomorrow. I found out there is a helium shortage and the first store I went to said they were out. Sandie said her gauge showed it was just about empty, but she tried anyway. I'm so appreciative, she was able to inflate the balloons and save me from driving around trying to find a store with helium. I certainly didn't have the strength to do that, so I'm thankful for Sandie and people like her who care enough to go above and beyond.”
“I came here on Monday and had the best customer service I believe the cashier was named Angie she was so kind and helpful she showed me how to sign up for the app and for drive up and go services and she got another co worker a young girl with black hair to help me with my groceries as I had a baby with me and was having trouble fitting everything into one cart so the other coworker brought the second cart out to my car and helped me with the groceries and she was so sweet my baby loved her. And another customer helped bag my grocery for me he was behind me in line and just took it upon his self to help out. There was such a good vive in this store everyone was so pleaseant.”

“I'm not sure about the negative reviews. I've never had a bad experience here w/ the staff or anything I've bought. I find some of the most unusual items here. I'm a major "foodie" and I find lots of very expensive imported items at super low prices. Also, in the health items area, I've bought really expensive shampoos and moisturizers that I buy online and again, crazy low prices! What's not to love???”
“Just had a remodel done on the 7th of July. First remodel since the store opened in 1985!!! I have to say they did a great job utilizing the space provided. The staff are very friendly, attentive, and hardworking. The store is well stocked, clean, and the merchandise is easily accessible. By far one of the cheapest retail stores in the area. I recommend stopping in for quick shopping trips or you can also browse more due to the utilization of the space. All and all I'm impressed with this store in particular and will be a frequent shopper there from now on.”
“This is my first time ordering from this place for delivery on Sunday with Chicken stew-Sunday and Beef steak-Sunday. They packed abundance of food for the orders, which is unusual for the places I had ordered in the past since I moved to this area. Food was cooked and seasoned very well. I didn't get a chance to take pictures, but I will order again to see if they are consistent with their services and food. Definitely, I will order again and follow up with the review.”

“I live in Wilmington and I have to say that this is one of my two favorite locations to shop at because everyone is so great. This location is very well kept and clean and fully stocked. Every time I have an encounter with customer service it's very pleasant. There's a medical building right across the street from this location so it was easy for me to to just go ahead and shop for my items while I'm in the area and return home. The location is great as well because it's right off of 273 (practically on it)”
“I have been shopping and getting my prescriptions filled for a couple years. Camille is the best pharmacist I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She has saved me money many times because she takes time to find the best insurance to use when I pay for my prescriptions. Camille also takes time to ask how things are going with me.”
“I normally don't shop at Safeway, due to location, but stopped in to pick up a few item to take to work. They had the clerical items I needed and I picked up lunch as well. Im kinda disappointed with the chicken from the ready to eat section as it was too dry for my liking. Other than that store is well stocked and very clean.”
“I enjoy the environment, some might not. It's a blue collar, casual bar scene. They don't have draft beer and the price for said beers are a little expensive, but the mix drinks are made strong and are affordable. They have two pool tables and a shuffle board.”
“This is truly a cultural jewel of a store in Middletown, Delaware. They carry food items, a limited selection of produce, beverages, personal care items, even fabrics, mostly all imported from various African countries. The service was excellent and the clerk was most patient with me as I asked LOTS of questions about various products prior to purchasing. The plantains and imported sodas were enjoyed by my family during our evening meal. Thanks MAM!”
“I go there to send western unions to my son and whoever is working is very pleasant. I am never treated like I am an inconvenience or like I am interrupting them from texting on their phone like the other locations. I have yet to eat there because my money usually gone after I send it to my son however I'm sure it will be a good experience given how they treat their customers.”

“I see the bad reviews but my experience has been pretty good so far! Freeze the meats as soon as you get home. I've had the Delmonico steak, lemon pepper chicken, and burger patties so far and the quality beats the premade store stuff all the way.Now for my feedback on the sales techniques - I'm not sure the best practice is to approach people alone in a parking lot haha. I'm quite a strange individual so I decided to give the salesman (Minolo I think his name was) the time of day and check out his meats (in the back of a white van nonetheless). Social media marketing is probably a better way to go.Have not gotten sick from anything or experienced weird tastes. Should that change I will adjust my rating, but so far it's looking like I'm going to be set for the year on frozen meats! The Black Friday sale I got approached with was more than welcome and the bundle I was sold (easily 60-70 lbs of various products) is going to save me serious money I'd otherwise spend on overpriced ribeyes at the store! I'm primarily a carnivore so the ridiculous amount of meat is perfect for me - your experience may vary!”
