4960 Annapolis Rd, Bladensburg““The quality is Exceptional”. I was going to get some food near by and I discovered this store. The price is good and the quality of the clothe is exceptional. Fia has a fashion spirit. Thank you so much!”
“Growing up very poor these type organizations, especially Catholic Charities, came to our aid and even supplied holiday dinners many times. Because of them we even had presents. So I try and support those who actually support others, not just take your donations for their own profits (like some others...GW). The nice ladies took my donations with a smile and thanked me. They did turn away a few items that were not appropriate for their facilities but that was understandable. The store was clean and looked like a place I'd love to stroll through when I had some more time. Would recommend.”

106 N Columbus St, Alexandria“Great deals, great volunteers. The prices are more than fair and the volunteers strongly care about raising money for the hospital, and are friendly, helpful, and fun to talk to. There's a great selection clothes in good to new condition. One suggestion: I bought two t-shirts and realized the tag gun tore noticable holes in both of them after I got home. Perhaps using a gun with a smaller needle, or tagging at a seam would avoid this. I was able to sew the holes, but it's a shame they were damaged by the store's pricing processes.”

3001 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington“St. Alban's Opportunity Shop is a true gem in the community. With its recent reopening, it continues its legacy of providing quality goods at affordable prices since 1955. The shop's commitment to supporting those in need is commendable, and I am proud to contribute to their cause. The weekly shopping hours are convenient, and the friendly staff always makes my visit enjoyable. Whether I'm looking for clothing, household items, or unique treasures, the Op Shop never disappoints. It's heartwarming to know that my purchases go towards helping the community. I highly recommend paying a visit to this wonderful thrift store.”
“super cute small thrift store! had a good selection of business casual/formal clothes. had an amazing selection of shoes and bags!! a little more expensive than i expected, sweaters are like 12-13$”
“I had no place to 2 grandkids and 2 children of my own butIt was a man's shelter they took care of us thank you Christ house family because of u we are all well. And will give back.”
“There’s a decent selection and the prices are pretty good. Most things are around $10, few are above $20. The customer service was phenomenal. I had $13.00 of $14.80 and the cashier waved the difference. He was super friendly about it, too. The person I was with was also short a few dollars and he waved the difference, again.”
“Good selection of books. They're a little more expensive than I'm used to in other parts of the country.Cover Price up to $6.94 = $2.49 ea.Cover Price $6.95 to $9.94 = $2.99 ea.Cover Price $9.95 and up = $3.49 ea.That's the pricing scheme unless otherwise listed. Many prices are listed on the sticker. However, buy 4 books and get the 5th one free is a good deal.”
“****Military Thrift Store - Not Open to the Unauthorized****I love this store!! I've gotten items at great deals and bargins. Friendly staff. Lots of variety.”
“03/08/2024- I like “ thrifting”!!! I like thrift stores, consignment shops, second-hand stores! Believe it or not, a lot of retailers donate tagged, brand new retail merchandise that has become outdated , to thrift stores! If you know anything about quality of fabric and materials and designer brand names; a thrift store can be thrift heaven! I generally go to walk around browsing and to unwind, or purchase treasures that other people no longer want! It’s not junk! I am a singer and my stage pieces for performance generally are created from my unique finds at the Thrift Store! Yes to Thrift! Love this store!”
“It’s definitely a busy thrift store but I can see why. Really good selection and reasonable prices. It’s a bit out of my way but will definitely come back! Important note: there are no changing rooms at this thrift”
“[Part of Giving Tuesday 2019] I can only write from the perspective of a volunteer/donor, but Martha's Table seems to have a strong mission towards helping children and families in the DC area. Our class wanted to organize a clothing/food drive, and Martha's Table seemed to have the most bang for your buck. You can always donate in liquid like every other organization, but not as feasible for someone on the student lifestyle. There's plenty of drop-off locations for clothing and baby items across the city. If you can give food items like canned and dried goods, you gotta go to their Maycroft location on Columbia Rd NW. Easy to just reserve a 15-minute appointment on their website and drop off our load. I see their trucks all around the city serving the community - here's to hoping everyone's littles go a long way.”
“As a donor, the process couldn't be easier: no inspection, just drop your stuff into the bins by the entrance. As a shopper, I have found luck with some of their kids' clothes and books, as well as some beautiful vintage glassware. Personally their adult clothing and shoes haven't caught my eye, which they dedicate 75% of the store to. I'd prefer a more curated adult clothing selection as I find the quantity overwhelming with too many items that I think no one is likely to buy.”
“Their hours a limited, like all NMCRS thrift stores (Tue., Thu. 1100-1300; 1st Sat. of the Month 1000-1400) but it's the only one in the DC area. They have a whole room dedicated to Navy and Marine Corps uniform items. If you need extra khakis or whites, check this place out first before going to the uniform store. Occasionally they'll have bridge coats or pea coats or even mess dress (typically only men's though). I've been told there are other thrift stores with a better selection of women's uniforms but this is the closest one to me and it's better than nothing! They also have a variety of rank devices, ribbons, metals, belts, and all those other small uniform extras that you'll inevitably loose and need to replace. Also a great place to donate rank items when you promote (including the ones that you might have to sew on!) In addition to uniforms, they also have a decent selection of clothing. They have small collections of toys, books, and housewares, and try to set up a seasonal display. Items will be discounted towards the end of the season and prices are generally fair for a thrift store. They just recently started accepting credit cards and were previously cash or check only which is a huge and much appreciated change. You need a military ID to purchase uniform items and base access to get to the thrift store, but it's a great bonus for the local military community.”
“Hard to find a thrift store like this one nowadays! Very much the "old" style of thrift - no price tags, just show the owner what you want and he will name a price that you can haggle down. Everything I've gotten has been very reasonably priced. Knickknacks stacked to the ceiling, and there's always something new or interesting. Taking one star off because it is very cramped inside, so not really accessible to someone using a mobility aid, but otherwise my favorite thrift store in the area.”
“Love that this place is volunteer run, and all proceeds go to ARC Montgomery (which serves individuals with disabilities and their families). I prefer to donate all my gently-used, no-longer-needed clothing here instead of to some of the big-name donations centers which are either run by religious organizations or are actually for-profit. This is a neighborhood thrift store, where you can know that your items/money are going to a local cause! I always take a half hour to browse when I come in to drop a donation off -- since the store isn't super big, it's hit or miss depending on your luck that day. I've gotten great workwear staples here (J.Crew pants for $8 anyone?!), and I've also walked away without finding anything. The items are mostly clothes (and are well organized by type, size, etc.), but there are some household items and knick-knacks at the front. Overall, Urban Thrift has become my go-to donation spot, and a good, curated spot to thrift.”
“Love this place, lovely family owned store. They're always so helpful. They pretty much have everything you need especially in an emergency. Best part is we get to keep money in our community over national brands. If you live near by and want them to have something that you know you'll continue to buy they are willing to get it to have it on hand for you (of course be reasonable).Just be careful walking in here as there is A LOT so make sure you are careful where you're walking.”
“I have only had positive experiences here. The volunteers who've helped me have been lovely, interesting women. The inventory is pretty incredible, mostly jewelry and home wears. Many things will be listed well under market. To me, it's been a treasure and hope others have good experiences, too.”

900 King St, Alexandria“Wonderful Charity to help raise funds to Prevent Blindness. We donate many items to good use here feels great to reduce clutter. They take small furniture jewelry mirrors dishes platter’s antiques household goods clothes. Repurpose Second hand is a win win for those that want to reduce trash & help the poor w/o $ or insurance. They always need men’s clothes - high demand.”

10141 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring“I'm very passionate about thrift stores and so when I stumbled upon unique I was very excited. I went a little overboard ha ha. My friend just had her second kid so I spent a lot of time back in the kids section... They have a very large selection of gently used kids clothing at super reasonable prices so I was able to spoil my friend's kids without breaking the bank. The good thing about toddlers is that they grow out of clothes so quickly that most of the clothes we got looked almost brand new. For myself I found that they have a nice selection of plus size clothing for women and I left with a number of new items. They give you a discount on different days of the week and if you bring in items to donate, so I always come in with things to give away which is a good excuse to clear out my closet before I add a bunch of new stuff to it”
“Long time downtown Silver Spring thrift store is open Saturday 9 to 1 and Sunday 12 to 2. Small, curated collection includes jewelry, bags, hats, games, selection of women's clothing, housewares, and framed art. Friendly volunteers and very reasonable prices.Located at Grace House basement at the far end of the (free) Grace Episcopal Church parking lot. Accessible via metro buses Y and Q lines.”
“Impressive selection of clothes, toys, and housewares. Easy to donate items and you get a coupon when you do so. Took off a star because there are no dressing rooms. Will definitely return!”
“I was just checking the hours and saw the absolutely bonkers bad reviews - this place does not deserve the bad rating. They are a great little shop.I grew up donating my old clothes so to be able to bring them here and sell a few items or some shoes I don't wear is such a good deal. They often don't pick all my stuff but will sometimes recommend a different Uptown Cheapskate location that would take my items. The employees are always nice and do a great job, the store is always clean and organized, and I've found some great quality items here including a vintage Coach bag and Frye riding boots.Their prices are fair for all the effort they put in - especially since they pay for the clothes vs donation-based. I love coming here and have gotten a lot of my closet from here.”
10AM - 5PM
3716 Howard Ave, Kensington“Adorable cozy little cottage nestled up in-between a row of antique stores. This shop is a great go-to for vintage tea sets, saucers, glassware, textiles, pottery, and even artwork. They also have a room dedicated to books and another to fashion items. All purchases go towards charity! Kensington has a street dedicated to antique retailers, consignors and upcyclists which goes by "Kensington Antique Row." More information can be viewed at: kensingtonantiquerow.com.”
“I absolutely LOVE this thrift store! I'm here almost every day and there is always a plethora of high end purses, clothing, shoes, accessories, and 5000000 much more!! Extremely kind staff, always willing to help when needed. I always feel welcome, and treated with a great deal of respect. The staff at the donation center is 100% on top of their game! The staff will unload your car for you, there is never a wait, careful with breakables, and make the experience very pleasant all around. I would highly recommend this thrift to anyone! Thanks very much all, !!!!!!!”

2200 South Dakota Ave NE, Washington“Can’t speak to the shopping experience, but the folks working the donations are all so helpful and kind. They offer to help take your bags out of your car for you so it’s a quick and easy process. Was there Sunday 10/29. Thanks all!”
9AM - 9PM
6307 Allentown Rd, Camp Springs“A lot of people have the wrong idea about thrift stores(second hand stores). One friend said she would never buy someone else’s old, dirty, worn, hand me downs!!! WOW! I on the other hand love Thrift Stores! Believe it or not, I look for designer name tags in all of the garments and generally I have an idea of what color and what type of item I am looking to purchase. I found this cute little long cotton over dress to wear over summer pants! Only paid $12.77 for two pieces! Loved it.”
“Got my booster! Just checking schedule and just GO! Fill out forms when you get there, take COVID Vaccinations card and ID. We'll organized. Kudos to the ARC, located in the PGCounty office areas on McCormick in Latgo.”
“03/16/2024- The Sassy Soulful Sisters ( Rolanda and Natasha) ventured out to try to find an outfit for a music gig coming up on March 17th! Love this store! I always have a great time looking for deals! Had fun!”
