“My sister and I needed this trip so badly! We had a late check-in because of it being busy. BUT. It worked out beautifully. We had a Swedish massage at 9 am. My Masseuse was so personalable and funny and made me feel comfortable. I had a Facial at 1, so between 10am and then I enjoyed the Women's Sanctuary. The 8 point shower was incredible. The available shampoo and conditioner smelled great and made my hair look great! There was a basket of blow dryers to use, q tips, nail files, combs, toothpaste, and bamboo toothbrushes. Everything you could need. The bar had great drinks!! The Foccacia bread was DELICIOUS. The room we had had a GORGEOUS view!! My single complaint would be that there was only cable available on TV. We would have liked to be able to project our phones onto the TV or have access to Netflix or Amazon to watch what we wanted.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience and WILL go back again!! Thank you so much!!”

“This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay. Milan was and wonderful, caring , personable host who made our stay great! The only thing I would change is I would not stay on the 3rd floor because you have 40 steps from the sidewalk and I have bad knees. Other than that it was perfect! The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. There were snacks and coffee. I recommend staying there.”
“Great location with countless food options in easy walking distance and the ferry nearby.
Food & drinks: Duckfat, Cheese Louise, Shipyard Brewing, DiMillos, Becky's Diner, and countless more.”

“This B&B is one of the best I have been to. The historic inn is lovely. The setting is great in that there are several nice restaurants in the small, attractive college town, and it is close to Portland as well as many outdoor recreation areas. The accommodations are comfortable and there is everything you could need. The owner is super friendly and helpful. Her breakfasts are amazing. My husband and I have stayed here at least once a year for the past 10+ years and have never had a complaint. Do not hesitate to book a room.”

“Rad hotel for families. Exceptional service. Every staff member was so kind. Free hot chocolate for the kids and coffee for the adults. Room has a nice view of the harbor. Pool is great. Only suggestion would be mats for the tubs—my 5 yo slipped and banged his head on the tub. Very slippery. And the beds are little too soft for my tastes.
They’re renovating the rooms as of January 2025, so maybe they’re fixing those issues.
Location wise, quick walk (<10 mins) to so many restaurants.
Walkability: Very walkable”
“An absolutely beautiful property and outstanding service! Meticulously designed and very detail accounted for.
I loved the fireplaces and the stocked pantry. This will be my new home away from home when I visit Portland. Can’t wait to check out the rest of Lark Hotels properties!!

“We stayed here on our last night, we wanted an easy drive to the airport because of an early flight. This hotel was great for airport access and the room was huge! It was a little apartment quite comfortable and beautiful views to watch the planes take off and land. It wasn't too noisy either. They had a pretty good restaurant lounge lobby area that was quite enjoyable. I'd stay here again.”

“Great rooms. Nice pool, good breakfast buffet, friendly staff. My only issues were the elevators are the slowest I've ever been on and not enough elevators especially when they are booked to capacity. Also parking is tight. Overall great experience!”
“Great boutique hotel in downtown Portland with excellent service. Very cool that they were able to convert an old newspaper building into a modern hotel, with design details that match the building's heritage. As it is a historic building, the rooms were on the smaller side, but still big enough and comfortably appointed.
Walkability: Walkable to everything downtown Portland has to offer.
Noteworthy details: Building was converted from an old newspaper office into a modern hotel, with design details that match the building's heritage. Lots of references to newspapers, type, and typewriters.”

“The rooms and the inn itself are very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The food and drinks are amazing and fresh every day. All employees were super nice and very helpful. Winnie, the bar and restaurant manager, made the dining and bar experience amazing. The location is prime. Very close to the beach, Portland, and Scarborough. Not stuck in the middle of a big city. Overall a great experience!”

“BRIDES!!! If you're looking for a unique one-of-a kind experience for your wedding and your guests, STOP looking. The Inn on Peaks Island is the perfect blend of elopement vibes vs. traditional. Our little husband and wife team shot photography and videography for a wedding here in May and the staff was unbelievable. Every little detail was thought of and absolutely stunning! We can’t wait to document our next wedding on the island!”

“The most cozy bed and breakfast hotel in Portland! The breakfast was also delicious and romantic! I highly recommend this place. The owners/managers were very attentive and Professional. We will deff be coming back.”
“Beautiful Hotel. Front desk staff was lovely, helpful, professional and friendly. We had a corner king on the 5th foor. Rooms were clean, nicely designed and comfortable. Shower was great, rainhead type, no issue with pressure or temp. Well designed closet with room for hanging clothes, a clothes steamer, coffee and tea makings, and mini fridge. Nice residential neighborhood with good restaurants, if you don't feel like heading downtown. Union 188 was a nice find, when we walked by during the day it did not look like anything much but for dinner we found a chef owned eclectic bistro with a tasty menu. Also found great food around the block at Cheval.

“While I will give this a high rating, I note this has among the slowest elevators on the planet.
Also they want to charge an extra $35 per night convenience fee. ARE YOU KIDDING? That is most of the bad. There is more that is good.
The check in staff was extremely kind and helpful with advice on places to go, parking options, etc. $45 for parking overnight there seems high since downtown Boston is about $50. But I saw a ramp charging $40 for a whole day so maybe that is just Portland pricing. Weird for a small town. Check out staff was very nice as well. They contacted the valet to get the car ready without me asking. Impressive!
I must say the location is wonderful. The terrace area for drinks on the terrace is very nice. The rooms, bed, and bathrooms are very good and nice sized. The facility is quite clean.”

“This was a very nice hotel and convenient to the downtown Portland area – a smooth 10–15-minute drive. Not much dining within walking distance, but lots of places a short drive away. Room was clean and well decorated as were the open spaces. The bar/restaurant must be very popular – it was crowded every time we went by.

“We had a beautiful 2 nights mini vacation at this location. The room was spacious and functional, all furniture very comfortable. A good fridge and microwave were included as well as a comfy deep tub. Hairdryer, iron, even a shoe rack were part of the equipment. The heater/ac/thermostat worked great. Nice ambience inside. Rooms very calm, despite proximity to mall, main roads and airport. Staff exceptionally friendly, great continental breakfast selections including in addition yogurt, apples, oranges, fruit water, to American classics (cereal, eggs, waffles, bagels, blueberry muffins etc)

“Home2 Suites came up as an alternative location than the traditional hotel rooms. For about the same price as a regular hotel room with breakfast included I happily booked. I only spent one night here, but the room was spacious and felt more like an apartment than just a hotel room. Having movable features like a full sized pull out table and computer chair in the room was incredibly convenient to customize the space to your liking. I was able to watch YouTube and stream Netflix on my TV without having to bring my own device which was also a huge plus. The indoor heated pool was small but I prefer it smaller than too big. My room had plenty of lavishes such as a full sized fridge and freezer, a microwave, dishwasher with soap included, tons of usb ports in every bedside table and lamp, and tons of open cabinet and closet space. The free breakfast was great, very on par for hotel food including make your own waffles and premade egg and cheese omelets. The room has some traditional wear and tear but that is to be expected. Some USBs didn't work and my door to the bathroom was a sliding door and nearly impossible to pull out of the doorway once it slid back in. My only complaints are that there was no liquid hand soap for the bathroom sink and the shower had a sliding glass door which no matter what I tried, I ended up with a soaking wet floor after every shower. Overall my experience was great and this hotel would be fantastic if you were staying for an extended period of time, because it would feel more like staying in a studio apartment than a hotel room, but I stayed only one night and it was very satisfactory to me.”
“The best quality of this hotel is its staff! Cindy and Bobbie were super helpful and kind. They put eggs out as breakfast was closing, and kept it open for 15 minutes after- and even told us when they were closing! Extra sauces available (a few hot sauces and other condiments), and oat milk for my coffee/cereal.
The beds were very comfortable (soft pillow top but firm enough mattress), very clean, but a little dated with some of the features. The pool was fully functioning and there was plenty of free parking. They were able to check us in early and gave us some free snacks as they had to downgrade our room a bit as that was what was available. It’s a very well run hotel!
Consider taking Lyft over Uber to downtown Portland if you don’t have a car- the surge pricing for Uber can over double the price of Lyft during peak times.”

“Nice room layout and clean. Great AC, good modern TV. Convenient location. Easy parking and check in.
Location is convenient for visiting Portland and surrounding restaurants, breweries, and beaches.
Would 100% stay again if prices continue to be reasonable.
Rooms: Clean, spacious, comfy.”
“This was an absolutely great stay: Big super clean room with a huge comfy bed; great A/C (for those who like it - I don't); helpful staff; nice, convenient and silent area; proximity to several restaurants and attractions; fitness center; vending machines with a wide selection of snacks and drinks; complimentary coffee and tea; great common areas. I think people complain just because they are bored. I'm reading some people complain because neighbors were smoking outside. I don't like smokers too. Just like I don't like when I hear Taylor Swift's music coming from outside. But you just can't get rid of people if you don't like what they do!”

“The reception and breakfast areas are beautifully presented in a fresh contemporary style. However, after this great first impression the hallways to the rooms were a disappointment as they were drab and stale. The ochre colours and brown patterned carpet harked back to the 70s. It could be that the inn is mid way through a refurbishment and the hallways will get updated in keeping with the reception area. (it would be a massive improvement to have lighter walls and hard flooring instead of carpet)The staff were great. The breakfasts were good too. Plenty of choice.I given 4 stars simply because the door key cards frequently wouldn't work so you'd have to go to reception for new cards, and the dated, rather stale nature of the hallways and the room carpets.Having said that, I would stay again.Rooms: The first room we were allocated smelt of damp and mould (like the hallway) the lady on reception showed us a couple more rooms for us to choose as soon as we raised the issue.”
“I had an amazing facial and dermaplaning with Mia and a deep muscle massage and body wrap with Eileen that released all the tightness and tension in my body. I live in CT but each year visiting this spa is a must. The best experience and services of any spa I’ve visited 3 years running! Don’t miss the multi jet shower afterwards which is like a cash wash for the body.”
