“Hello there! I am staying here for a work trip, nearly 3 weeks at this point and this is my honest opinion about this stay:Pros: Professional, friendly, cordial, and helpful staff. Everyone from housekeeping to guest services, and reception desk have been amazing and made me and my coworkers feel welcomed and at home (As much as one can after 3 consecutive weeks). Breakfast is deliciously well prepared, their BLT for dinner is delicious, house keeping kept my room immaculately clean, bed made often, toiletries & towels daily tended to, comfortable bed, great view from de soccer fields and quite refreshing watching the families coming and going while they practice, blackout curtains (I can’t praise you all enough for that!), and good size tv. The location is great with a nice greenway nearby, fast food services, and good options for quick and delicious meals from Johnny’s Tavern & the Rub BBQ.Cons: their automated motion sensor controller is a pain in the butt and woke me up a few times sweating due to the AC being on stand by. Annoying thing Marriott group, but your staff will award you 5 stars. In sum, this has to be my best ever stay in a hotel, and I would like to recognize specially Stephanie (Assistant manager), Halley (Receptionist) John (Kitchen/ restaurant), and Mercy (House keeping) as I’ve mainly interacted with them, but the entire staff deserves a standing ovation ??????Keep up the good work guys!318”

“Would highly recommend! Our room was booked for extended stay once we got there, but it wasn't a problem as we were immediately given an upgrade room. We were celebrating our 25 year anniversary and received a nice card from Shannon, front desk. That was a really sweet gesture! The breakfast food was excellent and the hours were great for those that like to sleep in.”

“This is a great place to stay when you can grab a deal on one of their rooms. We enjoy the water park, and I felt life their life guards were attentive and focused. Everything seemed to be pretty clean. The lock on our bathroom door in our room was broken, and the wifi was spotty towards the far end of the hotel (fourth floor about at the end of the hall), but those were the only minor inconveniences we encountered. We look forward to returning in the future!”

“My wife and I stayed at Chateau Avalon, February 16-18, 2024. We stayed in one of the Venetian Suites. Our experience was excellent. The room was excellent, the two-person hot tub was perfect for us. The entire hotel was well designed and maintained. We loved our experience and we will go back. The "d'Nile" wine bar was very nice and intimate. Robert, who runs the place, was an outstanding host! The bar is well appointed with high quality spirits. Robert knows his business and makes the d'Nile experience a true joy. As an FYI, you don't need to be a guest at Chateau Avalon to enjoy the "d"Nile" experience. Also, the couples massages we had were great!”

“Nice facility rooms, pool, lobby all very nice. Only downside is traffic on interstate facing rooms is very loud. Windows are not the best. Other than that enjoyed my stay.”

“Spent a couple nights here traveling between Iowa and Oklahoma and back. My wife was looking at recent reviews and saw some that were not too, let's say, encouraging. When we pulled in we noticed that the hotel was in the middle of renovations. I went to the front desk and was greeted by a very enthusiastic and helpful staff. He has our room, on the bottom floor, as requested. I mentioned that I noticed they were doing renovations. He said yes, and had given me one of the newly renovated rooms.Stayed here on our way back to Iowa and was greeted by the same young man with the same enthusiastic attitude. Was greeted by his twin brother with the same awesome demeanor. We travel a lot, back and forth from the mid west to California and stay in a lot of hotels. Have to say, this experience, even with the renovation going on, this is one of the best overnight stay(s) I've experienced in a long time. Just being greeted like your really welcome makes such a huge difference in the entire hotel experience.”

“Staying in the area for work. This hotel location is incredibly convenient. The hotel is impeccably clean and well kept. I travel often for business and am quite picky about my hotels - this is one of the best kept hotels. They do daily housekeeping-which is unheard of these days and feels like a gift everyday.Lastly, the service is spot on and super positive.”

“Peaceful. The rooms Extremely clean, up to date. The bed did Just have two pillows it had for big pillows. No Riff-raff, hanging around. They had an ironing board on a rack and iron on a rack also, in the closet. Breakfast, if you didn't find any eat there? You wasn't hungry in the first place. Great Breakfast Do it yourself, buffet. Is a great place to stop and lay your head at and eat. Great location too”

“I have been going here with my family for years. The only downside is the price but we see it as a splurge so we usually come just for one night once a year. We always arrive a few hours early and our room is usually ready. The water park is awesome, something for everyone. They have improved the food service over the years, they have vegan options and mocktails which are really great. We did the magiquest one year it is really time consuming so we would not do it again. The rooms are really cute, sometimes we get a regular room but a few times we have reserved a kid cabin which has a separate bunk bed. This place is really a top notch indoor water park. It is very clean and safe. I have never been in the summer but they have some outdoor stuff as well. Eta: kids beds are terrible, my kids always complain about how uncomfortable they are. Cute themed rooms but bed comfort leaves a lot to be desired”

“This place is not run like a motel, or even like an extended stay hotel. It is run like a short term apartment rental. As such there isn't a lot of cleaning going on by staff to the rooms. We found a cockroach upon check in but killed it and haven't seen any bug since.Unfortunately since it is being used as apartments for many people that results in a lot of smokers smoking standing at the doors, despite it being against the law in Kansas to smoke withing 10 feet of any door, window, or air intake. There is also weed usage. Don't park near the dark colored car with four stars on the front license plate. He smokes weed in his car multiple times a day, with windows down, so your car will get that illegal smell as well.As far as amenities: laundry room needs new machines, many of them are weak or just broken. The exercise room has more than many hotels. Has a working snack and drink vending machines. Has some things to borrow such as games, books, or kitchen appliances. If you adjust your thinking to this is a short term apartment rental instead of a motel, it's not a bad place to stay. However, since they do nothing about the smoking right in front of doors and windows, and some people smoke weed immediately around the hotel, I wouldn't advise staying here if you have anything like asthma, or other health issues that would be effected. That's a lawsuit waiting to happen.Walkability: It is within reasonable walking distance to a grocery store and a few places to eat.”

“The new manager was super nice and helpful . Housekeeping was supposed to clean the room before we got in but they didn't so we cleaned it ourselves. Not bad for a cheap motel, rooms could use a fresh coat of paint, but not bad. Usually in cheap motels like this you would expect some kind of bugs, not a single one in sight though. Happy surprise there !! Haha just being honest !”

“A great price for the quality! The room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and no bad smells or foul odors. The whole hotel felt very fresh and clean and the staff was helpful and friendly ?.Breakfast could have been better in that there was no butter for waffles and some of the cereal was stale and the fruit didn't seem very fresh, BUT the person at the main desk would wipe down the table after each customer was done and had left. The hotel maintenance was impeccable. No paint scratches or chipped and even the metal thresholds were clean!”

“I am giving this hotel a 5 star review as a 3 star hotel. We are just checking out today and this hotel was not as terrible as many of the previous reviews state. It is definitely outdated and needs some work but the beds were comfortable and our room was very clean. We are here for a basketball tournament and the thing I appreciated the most about this hotel was it’s very large lobby level in which we could hang out with parents and team. My son, his team and their younger siblings spent many hours in the pool and had a blast! The desk attendant that checked us in was very kind and informative. My favorite person was the bartender and I wish I would have gotten his name. I was trying to fill my water bottle with the lobby’s water dispenser and he stopped out to tell me he could fill it at the bar much faster. I went into bar and he filled it with a smile and then I came back several times during our stay (I drink A LOT of water) and he had the water ready by the time I walked to the bar. A huge thank you to him!!”

“I don't understand the bad reviews..??!! Clean room, love the Dove lotion and hand wash, neat and tidy room, good nights stay for under $70...the only bad thing I saw was the stairs needed a good vacuuming but who cares about stairs other then I like to workout goin up and down them as a fitness fanatic...lol...I've seen nice hotels too that need a good vacuuming on their stairs as well. I would say stay here if ur looking for a 1 nights stay and go.Rooms: Clean, well kept”

“I like the set up of the place. It's stacked 2 stories high and kind of like a motel 6 where the doors to each room are outside. Lobby is up front with the laundry/vending room. There's doggie doo doo stations with bags, trash cans, and ashtrays throughout. There's a nice little public sitting/picnic patio area with tables a grill. Lots of washers and dryers, which mostly are working, all $2/ea. Everywhere I've been has been clean enough, all rooms are non-smoking. No carpet in my '1 queen suite', so I'd bring a broom if I were you. Photos of rooms on app and site are accurate. Same free breakfast as the others with it- packaged muffins, oatmeal, chewy bars, coffee. Everyone I've dealt with behind the counter has been nice and helpful and overall very pleasant to deal with. There's no deposit at this location. As far as location goes, there's a couple of gas stations not too far, as well as a few restaurants, as in, within walking distance. Pet friendly with additional fee for non-service animals who stay free, of course. Cats and dogs allowed. I'd stay here again. Be sure to mane an account thru them and book in the app for the best price. Major discount applies at 7+ nights.”
