When someone suspects wrongdoing, your first instinct is to reach out for help. That is what we did, and Wells Fargo's reaction was not to respond. I placed a review for the Wells Fargo branch of Adel; sharing information on fraud and why it's important to stay vigilant and how your bank should be equipping their institutions with the best tools to combat the growing problem.
If you bank at Wells Fargo, you have likely experienced the requirement of setting up an appointment to be able to talk with a banker. We set up an appointment to speak with a banker at this branch, Harlan, who listened to what had occurred with our accounts. His reaction was to file a complaint and let us know that someone would reach out within two days. That did not happen. We contacted the branch again, another complaint was filed AND we were told that the District Manager, Carl, would contact us. That did NOT happen.
I asked myself this, what administrative procedures and strategies does Wells Fargo have in place to help their customers combat the growing problem of fraud? Our experience is they are very lacking, and this should be of concern to you.
In an article published by the American Banking Association it states: "Institutions should examine and modify their internal processes to ensure consumer protection and privacy." I say again, when you suspect wrongdoing, your first instinct is to reach out for help. In our situation Wells Fargo response at this branch was not to help. This is very concerning as a consumer.
A recent AARP Bulletin headline reads "How to keep your money safe!" We were vigilant consumers and contacted Wells Fargo for help, their response speaks volumes! Educate yourself and be aware of how your financial institution will help you or in our case, not help you.

Personable service with a smile. Been a patron for over 20 years. Thank you! Tried a new drive-thru location in Johnston. Same good service, but a little less handy. I'm sorry that the Beaver/Douglas location closed. Still excellent service in Johnston.

They would put holds on my account all of the time then get mad when you get upset and call them out for it. The customer service department is rude. They are closing my account without my approval or knowledge. They have illegal foreclosed on a friends house and already been sued for it, they clearly haven’t learned a lesson. They think they can do what ever they want it’s sad they don’t think they have to follow legal rules :( I have advised the many people I know not to bank with them and advised ok what they have done to a friend and I. They screw people over and they just don’t care. They put a hold on my paycheck deposit making my family suffer. The WORST bank I have ever been to.

This place just went downhill, the professionalism is no longer there, the tellers and bankers call you hun and want to know your personal business the atmosphere has definitely changed. Will avoid as much as possible in the future. What a shame.

LOBBY CLOSED. About 5 signs on front door, 3 are for covid precautions, and two are saying temporarily closed due to short staff. Urbandale branch lobby is opened though.

I normally love this bank especially the bankers. But ever since covid hit over a year ago, they never answer the phone, and when they finally do, Bankers always seem to be gone for the day... Imagine if cashiers at grocery stores were like this.. "Nope sorry can't get your groceries, our cashiers decided to go home early for the day.."? It's 2021 people, let's get it together here..

Horrible service!!! It took 15 minutes to deposit a check. Wells is using Covid as an excuse to understaff. If the lobby is closed, which is also BS, they should at least have 2 people at the drive up. They don't open until 9:00, so I think they can afford to staff it open to close.

My go to bank for my needs. Tellers are nice. Sometimes you have to come in to do some in person banking. Nice shady spot for parking is easily found.

The employees are always friendly and helpful, quick to solve any problem I have. I am not sure why there are reviews stating the customer suffers when Wells Fargo makes a mistake...I have been with Wells Fargo for 5 years now and have no complaints. Believe me, they have solved various problems for me. I have nothing but gratitude for this company.

This is the worst bank you can have. When they screw up the customer suffers.

Terrible. Somehow this branch got our information from a loan we have with Wells and tried to solicit us by saying there was a problem with our loan...we've never been to that branch and obviously nothing wrong with the loan we had for 2 years prior to this.
