“It’s a decent venue for medium crowds. The workers were attentive and friendly. It was clean and well decorated. Bathrooms are small but probably adequate for most occasions. We went for the “In the name of love dine and dance party.” The food was just ok but it was great to see Tim and Jana making music again.”

“I come here pretty frequently. Ricochet is always a great place to be, best Barcade in Des Moines for sure. Lots of fun games and the bartender was completely on top of it even though they were dealing with a pretty big party. If they had food I'd never leave!”

The tables, the room, the cocktail hour were all fantastic. The dual plated meal served to our guests was such a great option for a wedding and it was very delicious. We recently attended Sunday Blues, a series featuring a fantastic live band every Sunday. There is ample seating throughout. “My soon to be mother in law hosted my bridal shower here last weekend and it was gorgeous! The barrel room worked so wonderfully for our group. My MIL said the staff was phenomenal to work with. Jasper winery was so accommodating!! The sangria was of course a major hit with everyone, we all had multiple glasses! I highly recommend Jasper Winery for your next event in Des Moines!”

“I went here with my 3rd-grader on a field trip to see a short play. The theater is well set up, the seats comfortable enough for the length of play we saw, and the lighting and acoustics were good.The only real complaint I have is centers around the situation with restrooms here. There are a number of signs letting patrons know that the theater has no public restrooms, and while this was not a problem for us during this play, if one of the kids had needed to use the restroom, I'm uncertain what would have happened. There are public restrooms in an attached location, and it is unclear why the theater hasn't made arrangements for their use, if needed.”

“Best venue for music!! Not a bad seat in the house! Drove through the blizzard to make it last night!They had the whole place open to walk and view before and after the show! Took our kids for their first concert! They loved seeing the Hoyt Sherman building and the concert!Best place for concerts! The employees working there are amazing too!! You ever get the chance to see a concert there.. DO IT!!”

“Such a lovely spot for a date night. I used to work here back in high school when it was café di Scala and I had not been back since. Went for an anniversary and was treated with champagne and such a good meal. I got the seafood risotto and everything was phenomenal. The pizza was spot on and everything was delicious!”

“Wonderful and well executed concept. We enjoyed every moment from being greeted on the way in to being wished a nice evening on the way out. Waitstaff was knowledgeable and friendly. My steak was perfectly cooked, the beet risotto was also spot on. The cocktails were a bit off, one too sour the other too strong, but we drank them ;) prices were in line with expectations. Recommend for an evening date, supporting local farmers, and trying interesting new dishes.”

“Check in was speedy and quick . Parking was up close. Griffin was very helpful. Shuttle driver Bill and Scott were very helpful, friendly and made sure our visit was pleasant. Hotel is clean, housekeeping was helpful as well. Location is in the Downtown area and the shuttle was available to take us to the fair, and farmer's market. I love the Holiday Inn and will definitely stay with this franchise. The pool and hot tub looked refreshing but I didn't get a chance to soak. Breakfast was nice and hot. Check out was speedy as well. Thank you for a pleasant time .”
