“To correct a couple of things: Opportunity House thrift shop is open Monday-Sat 10am to 3pm, and it does take credit cards! Items not accepted are furniture, appliances, and electronics with screens (and bed pillows and other items no resale shop will take). Opportunity House is a local non-profit that helps support Monroe County United Ministries, a low cost quality nursery school, food pantry and cleaning/hygiene supplies. Opportunity House has great finds because donations come people who know Opp House's mission of keeping prices low to serve the low income community as well supporting MCUM. I'm one of the fifty dedicated volunteers!”

“I was totally blown away by the selection of wedding dresses in the formal room! There is absolutely a dress there for everyone and any budget. I left with a gorgeous lace gown that just felt like it was made for me and at a GREAT price. Everyone at My Sisters Closet was super friendly and helpful. The lady who helped me with the bridal gowns has experience in bridal wear and alterations! She knew exactly what alterations the dress may need which helped tremendously when I was making a decision. I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the market for a wedding dress.”

“That's a very nice place to receive assistance from. Some of the employees are really nice and others can be somewhat rude. But for the most part it's an okay”

“Great place to go to learn stuff and work on projects. I went there initially to work on a small project that required using wood working tools (living in a small apartment, I needed a place and access to tools). I got a ton of help from the people there and my project is done! Now I'm a member and keep going regularly to enjoy the interactions with creative/tech-savy people and use the available tools.”

“This place has the most dedicated and sweetest staff and volunteers, it's very relaxed and happy environment. My son took a class here last spring and it was amazing. He is 9, my 3 and 5 year old daughters and I went to the walk/run after party and it was just a great experience my kids had the opportunity to ride the horses and they loved it!!”

“I have heard "rumors" of negativity... And yet have never been shown any negativity by staff. Very understanding and helpful. They do not offer counseling bc they are not counselors however it is REQUIRED in the program to go to it. And honestly who couldn't use someone to talk to? Negative minds will always create negative circumstances.. Chores ?? We ARE NOT MAIDS. We do ONE chore a day in COMMON AREAS. yes u may have to put away a dish someone else used but it's ONE CHORE. The negativity is real on these reviews... But the positive help you can and DO receive here is real as well. Thanks guys for all you do ! -Cassondra”

“It's like a goodwill for diy home repairs! They have a punch-card rewards program, and if you're up for the hunt, some great bargains may be in your future! It wasn't as organized as their picture online but we still found some great renovation supplies! They had everything from paint, to furniture, to Christmas decorations, ceiling fans, lumber, trim, tools, door knobs, and toilets. This should be your first stop in the search for hardware, fixtures, flooring, and anything else you can diy for your home! Being a college town, they also had tons of small dressers, end tables, bedframes and bedroom sets, office chairs, and storage options. Definitely a win!”
