“Attended the BBQ SMOKED BRISKET class yesterday with my son and we had an amazing time. The Class was taught by a national champion. We learned how to trim and separate a whole brisket into the FLAT & POINT, rubs, wood, pellets sauces and...The Class included two beers, a whole 12lbs raw BRISKET to take home, two jars of rub and our own filet knife. The event was awesome. The store was like a BBQ'rs Disneyworld. The owner and his employees were also wonderful.I would highly recommend Backyard Barbecue.”

I started my renovation project at Studio 41 near Merchandise Mart (near my job) and in Lincolnwood (near nothing) and while the team in Lincolnwood was MUCH nicer than the folks on Hubbard (it wouldn't take much) there wasn't nearly the responsiveness and pricing transparency that I got at Ferguson. I was initially very overwhelmed by by master bath rehab- Sarah was easy to work with and worked well with my contractor to replace a Kohler tub that arrived with minor damage. Totally a 5 star experience”

“American Heritage installed a beautiful fireplace for us when we lived in the city, roughly 15 years ago. It performed beautifully and we enjoyed it for years.We now live in the suburbs and have American Heritage service our fireplace. We have the same technician every year, which is key for the health and safety of our fireplace. Ricardo is awesome with his service and especially with his guidance for proper use and safety. I highly recommend them!!”

“My wife and I just discovered this store recently. They have the most cutting-edge kitchen appliances that I've seen at any store. They let us shop and look around without bothering us. But at the same time, salespeople were available for questions. The employees were so nice that they let us shop for an extra 15 minutes after the store closed and didn't even say anything. Quite frankly, my wife and I weren't aware of the store hours.The products here are very expensive but they are from the best quality brand names.”
“This is the thing I love about Coles and why our next purchase will be from them: each person is kind and has the training, knowledge, and, most important of all, the authority to actually solve problems, not merely be sympathetic about them. Great place. I highly recommend them. I needed a favor, a seemingly simple favor but a favor nevertheless. I called all the big box stores. They were, for the most part, kind and, in an odd way, responsive: they killed me with encouragement. But after three weeks of encouraging phone calls with Customer Service agents and managers alike, and unanswered phone calls and promised but unreceived emails from the folk who might could actually do the favor, I was no where but two weeks behind: everyone said this should be possible but no one could do it, despite being willing to. Remarkably, it was an Orange Big Box Customer Service agent in rural Kansas who lead me to Coles. She said to me, "When I needed this I called my local furniture store." I said, "There aren't any anymore where I'm from." I was wrong. It took 24 hours. I found Coles on my first online search and was embarrassed to realize they have been in my neighborhood a few decades longer than I have. I got Kevin first call, first ring. He said, "No problem," and put me in touch with Charles. Who responded promptly by email. And by the next day I was on the phone with Mark on one of the trucks. Problem solved. And then some. Most big purchases I dread. The research. The feeling all along that the house has rigged the game no matter how hard I work. My next big purchase I am actually looking forward to because it will be from Coles.”

“This is the store I usually go to for garden supplies. The store is always clean and well organized, with friendly associates. I had great experience at the store today when picking up 8 bags of garden soil by myself. The store associate Umar generously helped me haul the loaded cart to my car and loaded all of them into my trunk. I would highly recommend this store to anyone in the neighborhood.”
“I've been going to both locations of the home Depot for years, but will prioritize this one moving forward after a great customer service experience. I was looking to pick up a nest thermostat which showed as available online but was not found once I visited in person. After patiently helping me search and distract my two young children, the sales associate called the other store and had them set one aside for me and made sure I could walk up and get it instantly. I didn't happen to catch her name but she was managing the checkout that day, and doing a tremendous job of organizing everything. Will be back to this location again for my large projects”

“We are lucky to have this place nearby. I usually go to Lucy’s in Zion for appliance parts as I am in Lake County. Though they stock the part I needed this time typically, they happened to be out of it. By backup (Abt), was out of stock too. They suggested Automatic Appliance Parts at the exact same time I found online they had 18 of the gas bake igniter for my range that I needed. They were also open at 8:30am on Saturday. I’m stock and open on Saturday mornings is already a huge bonus.When I walked in and gave them my stove model number and told them I needed an ignitor I thought they looked up the wrong one because he gave me an automatic discount on the part from what I knew the price was online.Local, open early and weekends, large stock of parts, good pricing and knowledgeable people, if you don’t treasure places like this, you are a lost consumer.They may become my go to source for appliance parts. They not only have their inventory online but accept Apple Pay too.I am at a loss trying to find a flaw here….”
“As a family, we’ve purchased two washing machines, one dryer, two refrigerators and a freezer from here over the last 12 years or so. The newest washing machine happened just four days ago, a nice LG model that came highly rated and minus one small dent in the back, looks and works perfectly as of now. We saved somewhere around $350 off the lowest “new” price in other places and $125 off the lowest sale price I saw over the last 6 months. Our oldest purchase is the dryer that we have now had for that 12 year period. Granted, we take very good care of it due to lessons learned in proper maintenance but it’s still working very well with no complaints. If you don’t mind the small cosmetic issues, I would recommend checking them out. They close at 6pm most days so just plan accordingly.”

“Fast to unload. Also, no overnight parking provided, but I parked at one of their 9 docks and spent the night. No one bothered me. They come in early, by like 0500, but load up their own box trucks first. They do not go by appointments. First come first served. Easier to enter by Addison street and exit behind the home depot.”

I called in asking about an igniter and one the gentlemen helped me find the part I was looking for. When I walked in, he already set the part aside so it would be ready when I walked in. I've already recommended them and I'm looking forward to coming back.”
“This update is based on my experience buying wood trim for a project: they have a great selection, and unlike my experience at Lowe's in Lincolnwood, their website is actually accurate and tells you which aisle/bin the item is in (see my Lowe's review for that cluster of a mess). I found what I needed, and they have a sawhorse set up so you can cut trim yourself -- I was surprised that they even had a miter box, as I thought that wasn't something they offered to avoid having people doing their full project cutting in the store. I needed to miter the pieces for my project, but I didn't know the exact measurements and had never used a miter box before, so I didn't want to embarrass myself trying to figure it out at 7am on Christmas Eve in the middle of a Home Depot. So instead I just cut the trim to the approximate sizes I needed with some wiggle room to measure it exactly later, and managed to figure out how to use a miter box at home after watching a Youtube tutorial. So, yay for that. Also after my adventures in elementary woodworking (lol), I needed wood filler/putty because the miter saw I was using was like 20 years old and not the most precise. Their website said they didn't carry the kind/stain shade I was looking for, but when I got there the day after Christmas, they did indeed have it. So, that was perfect. And now I have an awesome, handbuilt coffee table. About 5 years ago I also needed a random 1x4 (or maybe 1x6?) for a single shelf to fill the gap between my fridge and my wall, and one of their staff members used the power saw setup to cut that for me. That was also an easy peasy process. For my future random wood project needs, I'll definitely come here rather than Lowe's.”
