Robyn is incredibly kind and has an amazing eye for fashion - she recommended a few pieces that are now key parts of my closet. To make it feel better that I am buying when I should not, I am able to consign what I no longer want with them. The staff is very friendly. I wish I knew about them years ago. I bought an assortment of incense on this first visit (unplanned) as I tried not to take home pieces I didn't have space to house. The service was welcoming and friendly. I'll visit again and again.”

“It's genuinely one of the better thrift shops. Why? Prices. The pricing is fantastic. Yes this place supports a charity, but they also aren't trying to gauge me for a used item with no return policy. I wish people would stop paying higher prices to other places that are charity driven. Because this model works. They get plenty of donations, they are constantly busy, I always spend a lot of money there. Also Kevin fixes watch batteries! It's perfect.”

“Upon first entering The Brown Elephant, you might feel that this is not your average Thrift store. In some sections, it is more organized than other stores of its kind. This store has more furniture than anything else, and the prices were a little higher than your average Thrift store. I would suggest checking in here every once in a while, as their inventory changes quickly. Also like to support this store because proceeds go to health screenings and support for the LGBTQ community”

“What a great place to buy much needed nice home furnishing. Great place to just stop by & browse. You'll always find a great piece to complete your home decorating. Pricing is Great!!! It's a calendar price, meaning longer in store being sold, the price goes down. Also wall art is in abundance and catches "the eye". Staff is friendly & know there stuff as it pertains to there great company.”

“I just happen to find this little Gem by accident, lol. Its a little consignment store they have antiques, big and small, all very reasonably priced. My mother-in-law bought a small glass cabinet for dvds and nic-nacs. It was beautiful wood and glass 4 shelves for $70.00, which we thought was a great price. They have a range of items there glasses, dishes, pictures, furniture, rugs, etc. They had a cute small chandelier for $25.00. I just bought one. I was bummed about that because the one they had was cuter! If you are into this kind of stuff or redecorating, give them a try. It's small but worth it.”

“Came in here for the first time last week and loved it! I felt prices weren't bad at all, and I love who I'm supporting by shopping here. You can find everything from clothing to cookware, rare collectibles to really nice pieces of furniture i.e. I'll leave a picture of a huge sectional couch I wished I could get if it weren't for it being the wrong configuration for my space. Definitely plan to be a regular here!”

“Fun place to spend some time walking around hunting for unique items. You don’t come here looking for something, the store tells you what you need! Found an awesome solid oak coat rack with an old “Property of Cook County” tag on it, and a cool newspaper clipping from the old Rock Island Railway. Deb knew exactly where this piece was hanging up and the story behind it, makes it that much cooler. Would love to see some of the slower moving (kitchen/commercial/restaurant) items cleared out and the boxed items displayed or made more visible. I’m sure there’s some real treasures hiding in this place.”

“Store is ok. Slightly better than other Goodwills. Not as large as you’d think on the inside. Prices are pretty standard being that it is Goodwill. They were consistently bringing new products out to the floor though which is nice. Bring your own bag, though!”

Really reasonable prices and a good range of casual items and really glamorous items. It’s great to bring in things that I’m not wearing and build up credits toward new things to enjoy. Please support the small business by either donating, consigning or purchasing here. I have nothing to do with this business, but as a small business owner in the same community I want them to do well. “A great Hypebeast sneaker store that has a great selection of the popular in demand sneakers that you cant find in regular sneaker stores. They specialize in Nike SBs, Jordan 1s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 11s, Dunks, a few Bape and Yeezys as well as hypebeast / popular streetwear clothing brands such as Supreme, Fear of God, Bape, Gallery Dept, Anti Social Social Club, Comme De Garcons, their own custom merch, and more. They also carry caps/hats and misc Supreme items.The store is super spacious and large, has some good decor, multiple workers to help customers, good customer service, a prize machine with Nike Jordan grails,They have a good selection but not many sizes for every shoe so its almost like a boutique with a large selection but not for every size which is a bummer.However they still are a bit more fair on pricing than similar sneaker stores of its kind.”
