“Walked in the door and stood there for 15-20 seconds before asking who wants to sell me a car. Ended up buying a used Honda CR-V -XL. Vehicle has some issues that should be addressed. TBD how they handle it. Sunroof broken, back windshield wiper blade dry rotted, rotors are warped after getting on the highway and braking at higher speeds. noticed the oil should have been change. under 1k miles and last oil change was almost 6 months ago. UPDATE: Issues above were address quickly and promptly at no cost. However, after further review the vehicle has hail damage. Something that wasn't really visible on a high sky day with no clouds. Offered to cover it if I paid $500 towards the repair. Which is equal to my deductible w/o filing a claim. Not disclosing damage is shady. But, mostly my fault for not noticing it in the first place.”

I've trusted them multiple times after going to other shops around Rockford and having issues with steering wheel alignment afterwards and even a jam nut coming loose on a vehicle done at another shop (which just happens to be directly up the street from Rays)”

“I have been using L& M Garage the last few years for two older vehicles. They have always been totally honest in telling me what needed to be repaired and even fixed a couple of small things for no charge. This time I brought my car in for an ongoing problem with power steering pump. The problem was due to poorly made pump caused by supply chain issues and poorly designed engine in my car. The mechanics came up with a creative solution and it has worked perfectly. Their prices are very fair and I feel they are trust worthy. I have reccomended them to friends and family.”

“Jeff and Terry are very nice hardworking guys. My catalytic converter went out on me. My to be son-in-law is a mechanic, but lives in S. Carolina, and was helping me find a place to go. They are NAPPA affiliated, close to me, and had good reviews.I took it in and they looked under the car and saw a part on my converter had broken on both sides. He showed me what converter I needed for my SUV and cost and wrote me up an estimate.I brought it back and dropped it off. I also needed a sensor. They were very helpful, upfront, and the price is fair and what I expected. I will come back to them when I need anymore work done for sure!”
