“Cary Grove Animal Hospital has been a wonderful vet for our guinea pigs. They are compassionate and provide excellent care. Both Dr. Fritz and Dr. Quinn are amazing and very knowledgeable when it comes to exotics. “I took my pups in for their first visit on the 14th of march. I have 2 pomeranians, female 10 months and male 8 months old. The reason for the visit, my 10 month old female has bilateral luxating patellas, grade 3. She was diagnosed by a different vet. The first suggested surgery in May when she is a year old and her growth plates closed. I went to the Shore for a second opinion. My second pup was along for the ride.I was so happy with the enthusiasm and care i recieved there. They loved my pups and the pups loved them. They were on board with my choice in holistic care for them and even helped me with recipes for homemade dog food.Outcome is no surgery at this time, and see how she progresses with exercise and mild manipulation. Essentially continue doing what I've been doing.The office is clean and does not smell like wet dog. They treat exotics as well as offering alternative therapy such as acupuncture and chiropractic care. All of this is the reason i will be transferring the care of my pups to them, even though it is not close to my home.”
“They were able to get me in super quick for an urgent matter. They were so sweet and kind to my cat. I ended up losing my cat that weekend. They called to check on us and sent us a card. This was my first visit! Amazing!!! Will be changing my vet and making them my #1 vet going forward!”

“I have been going to Lakeland Animal Hospital for years! The staff is ALWAYS friendly! The veterinarian's are all conscientious and compassionate when it comes to my dogs. Unlike other places I have gone to they do not push to do anyting I'm financially not comfortable with.

UPDATE: I posted my original review 4 years ago and I would post the same review today (5/7/2024). My golden retriever mix had an enlarged heart. Under Dr Dunn's care he lived to be 14 1/2. I had to put him down in November and my other dog in February. Both dogs needed Immediate Care at the end. Instead of sending me to emergency, where they would have had to be put down in a strange place.... Dr Dunn squeezed them in so I could put them down at peace where they were comfortable with Dr Dunn and his wonderful staff.”
“Wonderful truly caring staff. Dr Blackwell, Lori is amazing !! We found this office researching patellar luxation, floating kneecap, surgery. They took so much care and time with our pup he recovered fabulously. We had some lows of an advanced age beloved Maltese/bichon mix that had kidney disease and Dr Blackwell personal care and education and commitment to our dogs health was incredible and I am forever grateful. We also experienced the joy and all the routine visits with a new puppy and another generation I trust with the loving care of Lori Blackwell and her staff. My grand pups also go here now and several friends dogs.”

“We had to make the painful decision to euthanize our beloved cat Buddy, a part of our family for 16 years on 8/24/2024. The staff at McHenry Pet Hospital were all great! They made it as comfortable as possible for Buddy and our family. Explained how the process would work, assured us that Buddy would go peacefully and feel no pain. Reassured us that we were making the right decision. Told us to take as much time as we needed with Buddy to say our final goodbyes. That definitely helped, given the situation of having to let Buddy go.? Thank you to the staff that was there that day from the bottom of our ❤️. We recommend anyone who has to have any kind of care for their pet, to take them to McHenry Pet Hospital.”
“Dr. Carlson is hands down the best veterinarian I’ve ever encountered, and I’ve encountered quite a few. Years ago, I saw Dr. Carlson treat my parents dogs and elderly cat into their twilight years and the compassion and love he has for our animal family members is unmatched. We firmly believe his recommendation of acupuncture treatment for their elderly Weimaraner gave her another 2 years of life after we all thought she had lost mobility in her back legs. I went to another vet for a few years (because they were closer to me) until they recommended expensive and side effect-inducing medications for my 15 year old Weimaraner. I had my doubts so I called Riverside for a second opinion. He reviewed her test results, health records, and examined her thoroughly and agreed that she needed none of that. Dr. Carlson put her on a much more gentle holistic regimen that allowed her to live comfortably the rest of her days. And when it was her time to go, at almost 16, he lovingly stroked her and held her paw the whole time while my husband and I said our goodbyes. The compassion is unmatched. Now I take all my pets to Riverside. Thank you to Dr. Carlson and his amazing team for always giving my pets the best treatment possible.”

“We have been going to Dr Max for years now. He and his office gals take great care of our cats. They are nice, easy to get a hold off and schedule an urgent visit. Dr Max is honest knowledgeable vet, gets straight to the business. Reading reviews on him overcharging patients is complete lie, he never pushed any unnecessary treatments and explained what is necessary and not necessary for our pets. Actually his providing, meds and vaccines are more than affordable, including self pay discount, who cat beat that. My cats have been treated with passion and respect, absolutely would recommend Dr Max to everybody.”
