“I've been coming to Dee Jays and the grand since I was a kid. Most items are very overpriced, especially the premade food, but you're paying for convenience. There are some deals to be had. For years the lunch plate has been a go to lunch for me. For years it was $5, I think it's still less than $8. You get a choice of meat and 2 sides. It's enough for 2 meals. I also highly recommend the egg salad and curry chicken salad.”

“I found this store very interesting. It reminded me of the movie Home Alone, where Kevin buys milk and groceries. I bought my lunch here for a good price. This store is excellent, and I highly recommend it to Home Alone fans who want to visit.”

“Great store...love what they sell and the owner is what every local store owner should be, polite and grateful. Btw, take his suggestions... he suggested some canned tuna from Greece and it was literally life changing for me!”

“Such a neat little grocery store! Have been going there for a long time. Most of the workers there are really nice. The delivery man that wore the white cap was ALWAYS so kind and funny! He made my shopping experience 100 times better!”

“I was looking for specific ingredients to make koobideh kebabs, including the 1" wide stainless steel skewers and seasoning. They had everything I was looking for, and so many other wonderful items. The reasonable prices were a surprise as well. No more searching for special shawarma spices. They had multiple options for just about any spice, at better prices than anywhere I found. Delicious sweet treats, fresh bakery items and lots of economical bulk options. We will be back!”

“Not a regular Aldi shopper, went with a friend. So if some observations are "standard Aldi" you'll know that. Newer store, very bright and clean. Wide aisles very nice for navigating the wide carts. I realized that they basically don't carry typical American brands, it's private label or something like that. My friend needed mostly produce, and the selection & quality were good. There was no stock out for a deep-discount item she came for. The seasonal aisle was unkempt but had an interesting variety. Stealth hit: Winking Owl wine...quaffable and dirt cheap. I was happy to learn that they accept credit cards (you still need a physical quarter if you want a cart!). But there were no pack-your-own boxes when we checked out, happily my friend had a lot. Overall pricing was sharp, and tho selection was limited, I didn't feel like I was shopping in a heavy-discount place.”

“Carry great items. Great produce!! They make their own non-dairy shredded cheddar cheese which is less than half the price of name brands that are not as delicious and don't melt. The Morse Brand cheese MELTS and is delicious!!!”

“This place is near my office and they have the best sandwiches. I particularly love that they have options for vegetarian sandwiches. The Paulie Walnuts portobello mushroom sandwich is my absolute favorite. They also have some of the best roast beef around. their staff are really friendly and helpful!”

“Always busy, and have everything I need, once in awhile they do run out of products, but everyday I think a truck comes in the morning, so morning shopping is more reliable, to have your products, but it has only happened a hand full of times.A little slow at the cash register, lines can be long, at other Aldi's they have self serve, thos is so convenient. I hope they change this place to have both.”

“From Ackee to Yam and everything in between, I felt like I was home, even the ambiance of the store. Let's see, every pepper sauce and grace soup mix (the one that starts with C). Snapper, oxtail, tripe. D&G soda. Tastee Cheese, curry powder, pickapeppa sauce, browning, the list goes on. Prices are reasonable and you can't beat the friendly staff.Oh, I recommend Beta Flava Ackee (not mash out). Shout out to Jamaican J*** and BBQ restaurant for sending me there.”

“Their Chorizo is homemade and tastes delicious. The taste is superior to any you buy sealed in plastic at other stores. We drive in from Wisconsin to buy their freshly made Chorizo. Give them a try, and let them know you are new to the store. They are very helpful and explain what they have.”

“Honestly I work at a grocery store myself, but I decide to go to George’s store because he’s just a honest and amazing and trustworthy man. He is always kind to my dad and me and even his other customers. I most definitely recommend everyone shop here, and the prices are not bad at all here compared to other stores.”

“You'd get all your Indian subcontinental spices and groceries here. The prices are super affordable and cheaper compared to other outlets.Though I feel the staff often pester people to return the shopping carts and seems a little annoying at times.”

“I love their Jewish salad and the eggplant that is already made in the little containers. The only thing that upsets me... The salads only last up to 2 days then it starts smelling sour.... weird.”

“Love this location took me one hour to get here on bus from Skokie but was completely worth it. Only went for the food court on the second floor! I orders myself spicy pork, that was delicious got it with great side of fish cakes and kimchi. I did not know what the third side was but it was ok. The place is big and the staff was great! Also will not hurt your wallet like some Chicago location that charger like 20 dollars plus for spicy pork.”

“Okay, I get the hype. Jerry's has the best assortment of produce I've seen in the area, and the best prices on them by far. It's like walking through an indoor farmers market. Once you get beyond the array of fruits and veggies they are a big Asian market, European market, and big Mexican market all squished into a tiny space. It's crowded, it's noisy, it's chaotic. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes the staff is in your way more than the other shoppers, and the other shoppers will definitely be in your way. You'll also be in their way. So I give Jerry's five stars for prices and assortment and deduct a star for the staff, the tiny aisles, and the chaos. Others may enjoy the excitement, but I prefer a more sedate shopping experience. Next time I'll try it on a weekday morning, that may improve my rating.”
