“I know this will probably get taken down but I'm here to leave a message to any and all customers. My name is Will and I've worked here for a year now. Currently 04/19/2023 we are low staffed and trying our hardest to take care of all of our customers. Please do not give us a hard time as we will do our best to provide great service to you. We however could change this and not be low staffed if we got our customer count up to 600 customers. We cannot afford to hire more team members per a decision made our higher ups. We are also told we will lose one of our service vehicles if this does not change. Lots of changes, rules, policies, and guidelines have changed over the time that I have worked here. “Love this Big Box hardware store. It may be a major chain, but the customer service is on par with a small town hardware store. Oh, wait it is a small town hardware store, that just happens to be a major chain. Moving to the Alton area from the big city of STL, the first thing I noticed on entering this Home Depot was the cleanliness. The HD close to my home was always kinda grungy and unkept. This one is kept fairly clean and well organized. The next thing that surprised me was the customer service. The associates here, actually approach you and ask if you need assistance. They don't avoid eye contact when you meet them in an aisle. The ones who have assisted me thus far have been knowledgeable in their given area. A new feature that I've learned to take advantage of at this location, is ordering items on line that are available at this location and having them shipped to the customer service counter for pick-up. Damn, this makes life so much easier. In the city, I was not a fan of HD, but this one is winning me over. When: Multiple visits within the last 6 months. Why: Bought a new house”
