At Precious Possessions, you’ll find unique and beautiful mineral specimens, ranging from museum-grade minerals to rare fossils. I personally acquired stunning rubies in matrix and American raw turquoise. Additionally, Helen, the owner, is a warm and knowledgeable presence, ready to make her customers feel appreciated and uplifted with her kindness and expertise in rocks. It’s worth visiting even if it’s just to know her—the most precious thing you’ll find inside.

I visited for the first time today, and I was truly impressed! Helen is an incredible woman with an infectious positive energy that makes you feel right at home. She guided me in selecting some beautiful crystals, and her passion is evident in every corner of the store. I absolutely love this place and can’t recommend it enough—10/10!

I bought a black onyx ring from this shop last week, and just two days later, the stone shattered and popped off. It wasn’t a cheap ring, so this was incredibly frustrating. I always take great care of my jewelry, ensuring they aren’t exposed to water or subjected to heavy pressure. When I went back to the shop, the owner’s only advice was to take it to a jewelry store for repairs. She seemed completely dismissive of the fact that the stone was shattered—no glue or epoxy will restore it to its original condition.
I was especially disappointed when she kept repeating that no one else had reported this problem and continued advising me to avoid water or impact, even after I explained that I’m careful with my jewelry. It felt like my concerns weren’t being taken seriously, and the conversation left me feeling unheard. My first visit to the shop was great, but this experience was frustrating, especially after spending good money on a ring that didn’t last.

Wonderful crystal shop with a curated selection of beautiful gems. Helen is an absolute sweetheart and is so knowledgeable about all of the stones in her shop. She treated my boyfriend & I with the utmost respect.
For all of the avid crystal lovers like myself out there, I highly recommend you check this place out. And to Helen: thank you so much for helping me pick out my gorgeous necklace stack (black tourmaline, black onyx & moonstone) and for your jovial energy. I will be sure to visit again the next time I am travelling to Chicago.

Truly a BEAUTIFUL experience. Helen was such a light & pleasure to meet. She was so knowledgeable, intuitive, & radiated such positive energy. The pieces in this store are some of the most unique & remarkable ones that I’ve seen from other crystal shops. Lots of variety! I wasn’t sure exactly what I was looking for when I came in, but I certainly left with what I needed. Can’t wait to visit again, thank you Helen!

I'm typically not one to write reviews, but I felt spiritually obligated to do one for the kind owner, Helen! I went in out of curiosity and left with some of the most precious pieces I have bought in some time. During my visit, I noticed how large of a selection she has and she was eager to help answer any questions I had. She made me feel right at home and I know she's one of the first places I'm visiting when I come back to Chicago!

Amazing little rocks shop. The prices are quite reasonable and the owner is extremely helpful without being pushy. Lots of jewelry and small rocks, but, the back half of the store is full of great specimens.

My new favorite rock shop!! I’ve been hunting for a place to buy crystals and I came across Precious Possessions. Helen is the store owner and she’s such a wonderful soul. She helped me pick out the perfect jewelry and we talked a lot about crystal properties. I would recommend this store to anyone!!!
