Carniceria Ruiz is a family-owned neighborhood gem and corner store. It offers groceries, fresh meats, and produce at good prices. The butchers provide excellent service, tenderizing and cutting meat perfectly, and are very helpful and kind. The shop is known for its delicious, hand-trimmed meats, including the best skirt steak and carnitas in the city. On weekends, they serve special authentic Mexican food like incredible carnitas, barbacoa, and menudo. They also sell top-notch fresh homemade salsas, including a very spicy one. It is a true local staple with lovely people.

Officially our new local spot. Go on the weekends for the best carnitas you will ever have in your life. Everyone is so nice and helpful, and we were welcomed immediately! Can’t recommend it enough.
