“everything here is top-notch and I promise that I will always come back for more. great sandwiches and the atmospheres really cozy and it feels like home. If you haven’t already, I highly suggest trying there pasta, sauces, and actual pasta in the far corner of the store because they made my dinner a Michelin star.”

“The store is great except they keep rearranging product locations so it’s not always easy to find your favorites. Parking is limited as you would expect but it is made worse in the garage where employees often use 2 spaces for 1 vehicle because of the narrow lanes.”

“My husband has been bringing me home Slice Shop everyday since he found the place. We have another favorite pizza place in the area but think Slice Shop just might top it! The other day he told me they have subs next door. My husband brought me the Italian, I was hooked. Today we actually went in and dined in. I got my sandwich and he got his pizza, we both got what we wanted all in one spot. The grocer has so many items and is way bigger than it looks on the outside. New favorite place!”

“This is a Mexican supermarket. Great selection in this small place! The produce and meats are always great, especially try the Windy City mushrooms they carry. The AZ salsas from the deli fridge and the deli pickles are also wonderful. I don’t even speak Spanish but the staff is always friendly and kind to me.”

“Wow, what a find in Chicago!!! We were staying in the tourist area and took an Uber to the restaurant, which was a bit far. When we got there, we were surprised because the place was small, and we were already a bit sorry. WHAT NOTHING!!! Best food, best service, best brewed coffee, best milk pudding... ugh... PF super delicious, I also ordered kibe, guaraná, my goodness, how delicious... lol It was worth every penny!!! We were attended to by the owner's nephew, who was very friendly. Coming back to Chicago, I'll hit the spot there for sure.”

“La alteña, my favorite store. You’ll find fresh meats, a small selection of pan dulce, fruits and veggies, Never a disappointment. La Alteña has been around for many years, that itself says much on how they serve the community and customer service. Many reasons why we continue to come back. Thank you for always being my familias go-to grocery store, let it be for our weekly groceries, high quality meats, delicious tortas de jamon and last but not least the best carnitas and menudo. Saludos y bendiciones!”

“For the most part, I've pretty much have only had good experiences at this Trader Joe's. The parking lot is not very big like typical TJ fashion, so if you are coming via a car during peak shopping hours, good luck to you. It's a close walk to the Brown line L station which may be convenient for some. Most of the employees I've encountered here are typically friendly and helpful as well. I would say that's always generally across the board for Trader Joe's though which is why I love returning. Prices have certainly gone up in the last few years with inflation and COVID, but I still find TJ's to have certain items that I can't live without and still (IMO) affordable when comparing to other general grocery stores such as Jewel Osco or Mariano's. I really wish they'd put a Trader Joe's in the Andersonville/Uptown area. It would flourish.”

“Stopped in here today to pick up some items for Christmas dinner this weekend. Been going here for years and the food and service is always great. I also had the privilege to pay it forward by purchasing a woman's groceries for her who was behind me in line. She gave me a Christmas hug and thanked me. Being kind and generous doesn't cost a thing and the smile and hug we shared was priceless. Happy Holidays Everyone !”

“Great neighborhood market that is actually fun to shop at. I am always surprised by the unexpected items that can be found in this small store. For example: Publican and Aya breads, Elegant Farmer pies, Sputnik and Dark Matter coffee, Slagle meats, Carbone pasta sauce, organic fruits and vegetables and any number of locally sourced products. They even have propane tanks, firewood and ice. Occasionally I even receive a random 10% off.”

“I enjoy shopping at Aldi's but more checkout lines need to be open. Most of the time the lines are far too long and the lines reach to the middle of the aisles”
