“Mari’s Urban Garden is definitely an oasis in the urban jungle of Kakaako. A tiny lush miniature plant shop with various succulents and tiny plants that will enhance any apartment. The staff was wonderful to work with and very accommodating with my pot exchange when I found out Mehta I bought was the wrong color. Highly recommend for the urban green thumb.??”

“Best nursery close to town. My father has worked here for more than 30 years nurturing beautiful orchids for the islands. :) Wonderful family-owned business - I love this place and the people.”

“Glenn from Nii Nursery is so helpful. He Carrie's a wide selection of plants. Best to call ahead of time to ask if he's open and if he has the type of plant you're looking for. He had the paklan tree my friend wanted and when I went in person to his nursery he showed me different sizes. All of the trees were healthy and some had flowers. I'm was pleased with the price too.”

“Wanted to make a DIY tray for the first time and went to Home Depot. I’m so glad I did! Everybody was so nice and I received great advice about how I should go about my project. Extra shoutout to Kayne and Ashton for cutting my wood sheet. I never thought I would have so much fun in Home Depot. Thank you. ?”

“Home Depot has became our Black Friday tradition. It started decades ago when I noticed the poinsettias were so cheap that I could afford to buy one for each relatives gravesite. I remember initially buying less than half a dozen, now we need 17. When the kids were born, I brought them along for Black Friday. Popo (grandma) at one point joined us. It has evolved into a family tradition. Popo has difficulty walking now so we sit her in a non-congested aisle. Then her grandchildren hunts for the best poinsettias and brings them to her. Popo selects 17 of the best ones. Afterwards, the "poinsettia hunters" is treated to breakfast. Popo will nurture these poinsettias until her "retired poinsettia hunters" returns home for their winter break. She looks forward to visiting all the graves with her entire family. We spend one day convoying from one graveyard to another, ending with another great meal as a family. We have no photos of this Black Friday tradition so we made a point of taking one. Later we noticed a Home Depot employee photo bombed us. How apropos. In the background Home Depot employees have made this tradition special for over two decades. Thank you Home Depot employees. Thank you for greeting us and making us feel welcomed. Thank you for being pleasant even when you're busy. Keep up the good job and your HUMOR. Happy Holidays.”
