“Huge selection of wine, probably the best on the island, and priced great also. Nice selection of beers and spirits also. And thanks for the choices of chu-hi! It's hard to find anything other than the standard lemon or grapefruit, but the lychee is great.”

“After hiking Moana Falls, hubby and I needed some coffee. Saw this spot on Yelp and was rated well and I wanted to see why. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman and he talked to us about how they make their own unsweetened organic almond milk (which is not the norm at coffee spots!). Ordered 2 iced lattes with almond milk (extra charge for that) and a lilikoi bar. Almond milk was nice and creamy in the latte and the coffee itself was strong. Lilikoi bar was pretty tasty. I would recommend coming here to support this local business!”

“Always fun to wander around and discover new things! Love their premade food and desserts as well. The parking situation isn't the greatest. It usually takes us a bit to find parking but it helps that security/a worker is out in the parking lot to help direct traffic and keep things moving.”

“Chill spot. Great grub. Love the ribeye. Small warning: If you buy a bottle of wine, they will not let you take the rest of the bottle home. But they will hold the bottle in your name until you return.”

“The food was creative & tasted excellent. Our water was very attentive, provided great discussions, and packed our “to go” food very well. The only negative was the time for each course was quite long stretching to be a 3 hour dinner. We had basalt bread, drinks & friends so it was still a great evening.”

“Love this place. We came in a little before 5pm to pick up poke, snacks and a beverage for our “lite” dinner. It looked as though we had the same idea as 4 others. The pieces of fish are large, fresh and premium cuts vs. sinewy globs. We went with Tamira’s regular poke and the tobiko-wasabi blend. The pickled spicy cucumber is a perfect side dish. Shrimp chips and taro chips and a manager’s special white wine from Willamette Valley rounded out our purchase. Very tasty and oh so reasonable for a pupu dinner.”

“They make a really good spam musubi and also sell some good bentos made fresh daily. Not bad for a liquor store. It's a good place to grab a snack if you're hungry and don't wait. They also make sandwiches which I haven't tried yet. Owner is very nice and helpful.”

“When a group of people go out to have a drink at a bar, the rum fire comes. It's in the Sheraton, so it's easy to find as a meeting place. You can also bring your children. Some of the tequilas are of a very high quality, so you can go all out or have a cocktail.”

“MUSUBIs!!!! Small Mom & Pop store that carries everything from beer and wine to musubis and ice cream. Hey they even sell fishing supplies and make keys. Generally I feel like prices are good (considering the store type), about what you would pay at 7-11 or Aloha Mart. Parking is not the greatest, maybe 3-4 stalls, but rarely are all the stalls filled. Most people are quickly in and out. Our family lives in the area, so of course we love the location, but what we REALLY LOVE are the MUSUBIs. They just seem to have the perfect blend of flavor, rice to spam ratio and of course price. The spam is more than likely simmered in a sweet shoyu based sauce and it's cut about a third of an inch thick and placed on a rice bed slightly less than two inches thick (maybe an inch and a half). The spam, rice and nori are, in my opinion, very balanced (OMG, writer's salivation). I'm not quite sure what the price is now, but I believe it's $1.89 each. I stopped paying attention after the 20th time I bought one. The couple that works there is so nice. Instead of going to one of the Gas Station Stores on School Street, give this place a try.”

“The go-to spot for kegs! Aunty there was cooperative and knew what she was doing. We ordered one Corona Premier keg for my son's birthday party. They got all the local favorites: Heineken, Corona, Budweiser etc. If they don't have the brands that you're looking for - brands that aren't locally popular here like Guinness or Blue Moon - they can easily special order it for you if you're in a last minute bind trying to supply the keg for the party. Other then that, they can get you any keg you need. They have 2 sizes available, prices vary depending on beer. 1/2 bbl for $140-$160 and 1/6 bbl for $60-$80. both require a $100 dollar deposit for the actual keg container. I was a bit confused at first but for those who are new to this (like me), the prices for the kegs apply to the actual volume of liquor you're purchasing, and the $100 deposit is for the metallic keg container holding your purchased volume of liquor. When ready for pick up, aunty will provide you with a trash can to put the keg in and fill it with ice, ice to fill the trash can, and a pump for you to get beer out the keg. And after you can return the keg, pump, and trash can to get a refund on your $100 deposit. Will definitely be coming back, my plug for kegs”

“Locally owned and operated by some of the nicest people, and some of the best simple spam musubi and boxed lunch/bento you will find on-island during weekday lunch hours. *GREAT PRICES*, hands down.If you need something convenient and are in the area, or you want some of the best hidden gems of spam musubi in Honolulu, this is the place to go.PS - When my father passed away, one of the owner/operators recommended a very helpful book to me out of kindness and solidarity from their own parents' passing. Support this place: they really are amazing for the community and a great place to grab a quick snack or even lunch!”

“Spam musubi comes in two styles: wet, where the spam is caramelized in a sweet shoyu glaze, and dry, simply pan-fried for a salty crunch. Wet brings a burst of sweet and savory, while dry offers a straightforward spam flavor. The spam musubi here at Middle Street Market is a dry version giving it a straightforward spam experience where the spam is the star giving it a clean, classic spam flavor. The same technique is applied to their red hotdog musubi. That being said the spam musubi here lives up to my expectations and more. the rice was fluffy and well cooked while the nori held everything nicely together. The portion is the normal size of any other spam musubi. Overall I would definitely recommend Middle Street Market because I know I will be back.”

“Best mom and pop shop on the Island. Actually has workers/owners that care about the customers and care about helping the people more than themselves. “There is allot of cool wild and goodness that does and happens here. Its always a spectacular Bizzare Different Experience. There no reason to get scared to experience these quirky random few minutes and at the very least you will chuckle to yourself about what just went down and what a fascinating rotating cast of characters : workers or patrons. Or praise both at the same 90 second to 3 min jolly fly bizarre by you just did. Alcohol selection is like everything you want 'silly rabbit' even if its last or next future season trend or treasure. I didn't ask if they had 'French Letters' {prophylactics}”

“I used to take my dad to Chinatown Liquors every week so he could get his Chinese newspaper, but ever since Covid-19, most businesses stopped bringing in the Chinese newspaper to da 808.Where is Chinatown Liquors located at?You can find this liquor store at the Chinese Cultural Plaza in Chinatown. The little liquor store is kinda hidden away, as the entrance of the liquor store is tucked away, fronting a parking dock within the mall.Normally, I drive into the parking dock to drop off my dad, so he could walk straight into the liquor store to pick up his newspaper.Unfortunately due to Covid-19, times have changed and this liquor store no longer brings in/sells the Chinese newspaper.Aside from Chinese newspapers, if you're looking for booze, then you've hit pay dirt my friends! Not into Chinese newspapers or booze? No worries cuz they also sell snacks, and other types of non-alcoholic drinks, and even some small groceries items. I did finally find a store that brings in the Chinese newspaper to da 808. That store is also located inside the Chinese Cultural plaza - Kanjico.”
