“Always friendly tellers and helpful staffI've gotten legal documents notarized & as a member, it's free. I've made cashier checks, and as a member, 1 per day is free. There are financial advisors available to guide you through IRA accounts, etc. Safety deposit boxes are also available.I love banking here and often do business weekly.”
“I highly appreciate the exceptional services provided by Hawaii Federal Credit Union. Their remarkable attention to their patrons is truly commendable. Sharlen and her team have consistently demonstrated their expertise in delivering excellent service. It is without hesitation that I bestow upon them my utmost admiration and five-star ratings. They truly deserve the highest accolades for their outstanding work.”
“They have two locations, Kaneohe Marine Corps Base and in Kailua town next door to Boots and Kimos. Open everyday except Sundays and federal holidays. They are also affiliated with the Co-Op and Share Branching networking. Full service credit union with great rates and friendly service.”
“Invest with a well known company where you will have access to create and fund your account yourself, have full access to be monitoring your trading, how your profit goes ,and at the end of every successful trading, you can place your withdrawal requests to your bank account or bitcoin wallet with no stress. I am a living witness. With Mrs Brenda William, trading is made easy.”
“Very helpful and friendly. If you're looking for a trusted institution who cares about you and willing to listen, guide and educate you, this is where you should put your investment. I experienced and saw how all the employees treat their clients and realized how caring and friendly everyone was. Kapolei Branch thank you!!!!!”
“Awesome service! They are always friendly and courteous, with a smile. I always go here since it is located in Walmart. Very convenient, plus they do shared branching!”
“Been at Oahu Federal Credit Union since around 2007?? Maybe longer than that. I love it here. The staff here at Oahu Federal is super great and answered all your Questions and more. My friend first started banking here and had told me about this place. Very friendly staffs and so welcoming!”
“Really good service from Aaron and the new accounts department! I tried to open an account however with a bit of inquires I could not. Aaron took the time explaining to me why they could not open the account and that next year they will be more than happy to open the account for me. That interaction with them made me leave feeling cared for!”
“I had an excellent bank experience at Hawaii Central today. I needed to make a bank transfer and needed help. The young lady at the counter was very helpful and went out of her way to help me by referring me to another young lady by the name of Mila. Mila came out with her laptop and assisted me step by step on how to make the transfer. Very pleasant attitude. I appreciate the great service. I have been a member since 2015.”
“Everyone at this branch is so personable with their customers! I love this branch and would prefer to go to this branch even though pearl city is much closer to me.”
“This is my bank, the staff here are always friendly , happy, quick & efficient. The line here is never long, & if it does have more than 5 people, the staff that handle other guest services will assist you at their desks, which helps get the customers serviced quick. I like that they have multiple branches all over the island. I always recommend this bank.”
“I will always recommend Hawaiian Financial FCU for their customer service Steven from Kaimuki branch was so helpful when I open an account each step was explained thoroughly no fuzz great job Steven and Beverly!”
“I'm a long-time member of this credit union, from its former name of Hawaiian Tel Employees FCU. Over the years, many smaller credit unions merged into it so it was renamed to reflect its diverse customer base. It's now known as HiFi for short. This is the main branch off of North King Street in Kalihi, which is open on weekdays only. As such, I don't often visit this location, unless I happen to be in the area or must complete a transaction in person. There's free covered parking which makes it convenient.HiFi offers a wide variety of services including credit and debit cards, free signature guarantee, home banking, loans, and home mortgage and equity loans. Darren Kimura is very helpful and knowledgeable.”
“I recently got approved for a car loan through Hoku. I went down to open an account with Daphne. Before opening the account she went through the membership qualification and explain each product and service that they had. Very informational and detailed. So much so that I ended up opening a checking and an additional savings. I transferred my direct deposit over to Hoku based on the level of service that I have received. I have been with them for four months as of this review, and I absolutely love them. I no longer need to go to a specific bank to deposit cash or checks. I can deposit it any participating ATM that accepts deposits. Not only in the state of Hawaii but throughout the mainland. That is so convenient. Where has Hoku been on my life? I am glad that I joined now. It is a small community-based credit union I don’t feel lost in the thousands and thousands of customers that a bank may have. I love my credit union.”
“Family has business with them. Friends worked for them. There ATM was easy to use for what I needed it for, checking balance and withdrawal. The only thing is,, unless I missed it, is the money denominator, it only dispense $20, no option to request larger bills, like $50 or $100, carrying a wad of money on a large withdrawal is unsettling for female, older and are not able to have someone accompany you for safety reasons. I know there are other options, but sometimes you don't have a choice...sharing.”
“I was in the area last Friday and had to make a pit-stop at this particular branch to take care of business. I arrived -- should anyone need verification of doing said business, I was there between 9:20am and 9:30am -- shortly after the branch had just opened at 9:00am. This branch has parking in a parking structure with a height clearance of 6'8" that my full-sized lifted vehicle will clearly not fit in but there were parking stalls alongside to the right before the parking garage. However, most of the outside stalls were coned off, for whatever reason, as it was not indicated why aside from the signage stating, "For ATM and oversized vehicles." I proceeded to reverse-park in the very first stall but was waiting for two women in the next stall over as I was anticipating them to walk-off but they didn't. Rather, one of the women moved one of the other cones for me which I did so in that, now, open stall. As I got out of my car and was gathering my belongings from the back seat, I was approached by a short Asian lady, with black thick medium-length-non-flat-ironed hair, wearing jeans and a green polo, possibly a lot attendant, and in a hostile tone, greeted with, "Are you doing business at the credit union?" as she began to move the cone next to my car. She continued with, "You can park in the structure," to which I replied, "My car doesn't fit in there." She then stated, "It's 6.8." Now, for one -- I drive a lifted full-sized vehicle. I am constantly wary of height clearances wherever I go. Two -- she must've mistook me as visually-impaired as if I did not see the obviously-stated, HEIGHT CLEARANCE 6'8" sign, literally one of the first signs I looked for, aside from the "Hawaii USA" upfront. Three-- 6.8 does NOT equate to 6'8" LOL !! Anyhow, ended up doing the "business at the credit union" that needed to be done. Thankfully, as I walked into the branch there were two available tellers with such warm and welcoming attitudes, the complete opposite as the woman I first encountered. The teller was courteous, friendly, patient and professional. **Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere if your vehicle will not clear 6.8.... I mean 6 ft 8 inches... as there is no other designated parking to do so** The stars apply to my pleasant experience with the teller. Negative stars for the ill-mannered lot attendant.”
“I love banking with HawaiiUSA FCU! Staff is always professional, friendly and helpful. They never rush you when you have a question and want to make changes to your account... even if the line is getting long.”
“This is a commendation for Saua, who provided excellent customer service with an IRA and other tasks. She was efficient, patient, kind, and an asset to HFCU in Pearl City. Mahalo to an exemplary employee.”
“I've been a member of Hawaii USA FCU for the past 12+ years now and have always been happy with their services. I do majority of my in person banking here at the Waipahu location, as I used to live/work in the Kunia area. The tellers are always friendly and do their job efficiently. I have had to work with loan officers a few times and they are also very efficient and professional. The only junky parts are that the current/newer location is smaller and can get crowded as they usually have 2-4 tellers working at a time. The parking lot can also get crowded, but luckily it is a section of Waipahu Town Center and you can park further near Longs or Seafood City and walk over. All of those things are out of their control so I didn't feel the need to deduct any stars from my review. I recommend Hawaii USA FCU and this branch in particular for your banking needs.”
“My visit & review was originally posted in Autumn of 2022.
My reviews have since disappeared; here is that review redux:
Came here today to replace my debit card & get some advice on a suspected fraudulent check I had received in the mail. Belen, the young lady behind the glass, was very helpful, patient, & communicated consistently clear with me.
Belen is a star!
Thanks for your time.”
“Found your location. Google maps location indicator is off and leads you to believe it's in another building of the mall. It's behind Times. Hope they can fix that. But otherwise good service just needs to tweak the location”
“Eric has been nothing but kind and welcoming to me! Usually i dont like going to the bank because of the long lines and tellers aren't as personal. However thats not the case with Hickam! I love to go to Hickam to do my Business here. The tellers are very kind to me and make sure im happy with the service I receive here. However I want to give a special shoutout to Eric. His kind and welcoming attitude really made me want to join Hickam Federal Credit Union. Thank you Hickam and Eric!!!”
“Mililani receptionist saved the day! I had gone by the Radford branch. Tried to drop off paperwork, but the receptionist wanted me to sign in....behind 20 people waiting in the lobby (more than an hour wait). I tried to explain that I just needed to drop it off, and then she said I could go to Miliani if I didn't want to wait......so I took the 20-minute drive. The Miliani branch receptionist took it no problem, out in 1 minuteshe said, "no problem, we'll FedEx it tomorrow.”
“I came in to withdraw a considerable amount to donate to Nalaniikaleomana Foundation who has helped homeless teens and adult from Waianae to Honolulu. They partnered with a few nonprofits to support and provide food, necessities, and one forgotten shelter. However part of my withdrawal was for self purchase and rewarding myself. But one of the managers called me to her desk and nice because I can take the load off my feet...lucky me?! She was so personable and patient with my requests as well as questions. This was so awesome! It's such a pleasantly decorated place with a turquoise color palette...somewhat calming. People are really friendly here. This credit union has hand sanitizers all over the place. Of course everyone, employees and customers must wear masks. I love Hickam Credit Union and my biggest account located. In fact, my mom opened my account about 40 years ago. At one point, I forgot about it before checking whether it still existed. But I kept track and utilize it more now!!! Ciao”
