“I’ve been yearning to stay at this boutique hotel and finally found time to visit for a quick weekend getaway. The property is quiet which allowed me to get lots of rest and work done. I was given directions to access the self-service check in and had no issues. One of the owners also checked in with me before my stay and was readily available to answer any questions. My room was very clean and I felt safe. I LOVE the decor throughout all spaces and felt very welcomed. I look forward to future visits at this property. Thank you Limelight!Nearby activities: Lots of wineries and local restaurants nearby.”

“Stayed in the Park room over Easter weekend. Great location within a block of all that downtown Dahlonega has to offer. Love the authentic feel of such an historic site.Host did a great job communicating and preparing for our visit. The check-in process (or more accurately lack of) was smooth and simple.Highly recommend!”

“This was the PERFECT spot on the square to stay. It is practically right on the square. Very walkable to EVERYTHING. Our room was clean, updated and comfortable. The staff was super friendly & helpful too. An added bonus was loving on "Ghost" their outdoor Inn cat. I cannot recommend this place enough and would definitely stay there again.”

“Within walking distance in downtown. Will definitely stay again.Food & drinks: Nice to have the breakfast but the bacon wasn't cooked, too raw, and the sausage links underdone. Not appetizing. Pancakes were rubbery. The coffee and sweet rolls were perfect!”

“4 1/2 stars!!We've been visiting the Smith house for probably close to 30 years. We spent our vacation staying at the hotel, spent several nights there while on vacation one time and stayed there for our anniversary another time. Our favorite part of visiting the Smith house was always the Family Style Dining in their huge dining room.It was strange at first but sitting at a table with other complete strangers while plate after plate after plate of food was served became one of our favorite things to do and we went to the Smith house several times a year prior to moving and multiple times after we moved.Out of the dozens and dozens of times that we dined at the Smith house only twice did we ever encounter people who simply didn't get the family dining concept and refused to engage in friendly conversation. But, apparently all of that ended sometime prior to covid when we visited only to find that as a couple we were seated at a table with 10 chairs even though there were other people behind us and we ate alone. After a couple times dining that way we stopped going. We recently had out of town friends visiting and we wanted to go to Dahlonega and spend the day so we decided to check into the Smith house and see what the reviews were saying. Imagine our dismay when we read multiple reviews stating that the all you could eat had disappeared and that now you would be served a finite amount of food but you could have a doggy bag to bring food home with you. Many reviews stated that even if you asked for more food they would not give it to you. We almost decided to dine somewhere else while visiting Dahlonega but curiosity overtook us.I have to say that our dining experience was the opposite of those reviews that said that the food wasn't as good or that there wasn't enough food or that they wouldn't give you seconds. They still call it family style but they will not seat strangers together anymore, I don't know why that stopped and it's true that they don't just start bringing food until you tell them to stop but we found the portions for four people to be quite sufficient and when one of our group wanted extra Fried Chicken they brought it without question as they did several other items that we wanted more of. We didn't seem to have any issue getting extra food.We do miss the old Family Dining experience, Friday nights Seafood night and the all-you-can-eat but all in all the food, particularly the Fried Chicken was very good and the portions were more than enough for four people and they did in fact give us extra food when it was requested. It's those changes, the seating and the lack of the all you can eat as well as the Friday night Seafood that caused me to give it a four and a half instead of a 5.”
