“While many reviews here may suggest otherwise, I must respectfully disagree with the general consensus. Avis, in my experience, has proven to be an exceptional rental company with unbeatable prices. Unlike most places that require a hold of $200 or more, Avis only charges the weekly rental fee without holding any additional amount on your card. Their dedicated staff goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction, even in the face of challenging individuals they encounter daily.

I initially booked a gasoline car but was offered an electric vehicle instead due to unavailability. Though inconvenient, I drove the electric car for 6000 miles without any major issues. The only minor inconvenience was running out of window washer fluid, a simple fix. Despite this, I had a pleasant experience with the vehicle and would gladly choose it again in the future.

Regrettably, I cannot give Avis a five-star rating due to a recent policy change that required a credit card on the online profile for payment. Despite using a debit card successfully for six weeks prior, I was unable to proceed with the rental. This left me stranded with my two infants in Buford, missing my daughter's birthday celebration and incurring additional costs for transportation. The inability to secure a car for our planned weekend getaway was disappointing, all due to the new payment policy.

While this incident left a sour taste in my mouth, I must acknowledge that it was most likely a one-off situation rather than the norm for Avis. Their customer service team did their best to assist me in finding alternative solutions, but unfortunately, none were feasible at that time. I hope that Avis reconsiders their payment policy to accommodate more customers, especially those who rely on debit cards for their transactions.

Overall, my experience with Avis has been mostly positive, and I would still recommend them to friends and family looking for affordable and reliable car rentals. Despite the hiccup I faced, I believe that Avis remains a top choice for anyone in need of a rental vehicle.”
