What an amazing animal shelter we had the best experience. The employees are truly a god send. No kill shelters are hard to come by and you can see how much they really care about every animal. Thank you for everything you do!!!!

Great place! We found an abandoned cat. Someone answered my email within minutes and they came out and got the kitty.Awesome!!!! ?

I volunteered at APR for a year before I moved out of state and I was impressed on the dedication of the staff and volunteers. If you are looking for a place to volunteer this is a great place to do so! They have so many great dogs too!

Founded in 1996, Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of South Florida's largest no-kill animal shelters, providing shelter, medical care and compassion to homeless dogs and cats. APR houses up to 200 cats and 35 dogs while finding homes for about 350 pets per year.
Before being adopted, pets are examined by shelter veterinarian and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for common illnesses and microchipped. To adopt a pet, visit our website to read pet bios and complete an adoption application. A team member will contact you for an appointment to visit our adoption center.
To surrender a pet, send an informative e-mail to
[email protected] along with a photo. APR can only take in animals when space is available.
