“I stopped in to do a return on an item I had purchased at the store a few weeks ago.
Being néw to the area, I found JCPenney all by accident. However, I had seen an ad
on line and thought, just maybe they will have the item in the store after finding a sales associate. She led me directly to the jumpsuit I was looking for. Yes, I purchased it, but found that it didn't fit perfectly. I decided that I should purchase a larger size.
I went in the other day to return and found two associates working at a counter, one called me to the register and I explained I opened an account that day, and still haven't received my new card.... she very politely explained that was no problem with my receipt she could do the return. The conversation turned to the music playing, store closings .. I expressed how surprised I was to find a JCPENNEY open. Most of the JCPENNEY's in Massachusetts/Maine have closed, limiting the shopping experience for many.
I have worked in retail for many years. I understand the metrics of keeping a store open and just how much damage COVID did to our economy. No one thought the recovery would be this overwhelming. I hope the management team from Penney's will be wise in their decision-making.”
