“My first visit with two cats went smoothly from the minute I pulled into the parking lot- a tech came and helped me carry the cats into the building from my car. During the examinations Dr. Ball was pleasant and thorough. She was not rushed and answered my questions professionally and thoughtfully. The office was clean and quiet and the front desk staff were helpful.”

52 Turnpike Dr, Middlebury“I have been trusting Middlebury Animal Hospital with all of my furry babies for well over 30 years. The level of care and compassion, not only for our pets but for us as well, makes all the difference. From serious medical issues to the times I was just being an overcautious pet mom, you have never let us down and always treated us like family. Even during the times of grief when we needed to say goodbye, the overwhelming empathy shown by your team made it less painful. Thank you for always going above and beyond!! ❤️❤️”
“We've used a handful of Vet Practices in various parts of the state over the years and Roxbury Animal Clinic is head and shoulders above the rest. Consistent professional and kind service for all our different animals, from both the doctors and the office staff. We also use them for farm visits, another outstanding service that they offer. Thank you to everyone at RAC!!!”
“I’ve been coming here since 2001 and have always received exceptional care from Dr. Mark and Eric. The front desk is very knowledgeable, professional, patient and kind. I would recommend Oxford Veterinary Hospital to anyone seeking the best care for their fur babies.”
“My cat Quincy was seen for a wellness check and some concerns I’ve recently had. He is a new patient to Stone Veterinary Hospital and I was very, very pleased. The office staff was very pleasant and friendly. Dr. Ira Stone was extremely pleasant, patient and didn’t make me feel I was over worrying. He paid attention to me, keeping eye contact and explained everything thoroughly. He didn’t make me feel rushed or that I was taking too much of his time. Highly recommend!”
“We’ve been going to this vet for 15+ years. Dr. Guzy has been wonderful! Since the day he took over the practice we have appreciated and respected his care. Our dogs are happy and healthy, thanks to Dr. Guzy and Berkshire Veterinary Hospital.”
“Recently switched to Southbury Vet. Very happy with the way Dr Ross cared for both our elderly dogs. His pricing is fair, he returns phone calls, and he listens. His office is clean and his office staff and vet techs are pleasant and helpful. We look forward to his continuing care of our fur babies.”
“The best veterinarians in the state!!! They love what they do and are very caring, loving, and very dedicated to your pet!! Their staff is wonderful and are equally dedicated to the care of your fur babies!!”
“My dog (and I!) receive outstanding care at this veterinary facility! The cardiologist & my Cella's regular veterinarian, Dr. Pavlik, are SUPER clinicians. Erin and Mia at the front desk are friendly & helpful. And Riley the medical assistant is a delight, warm and comforting to my doggy. Look no further; this is the best pet hospital around!”

487 Quaker Farms Rd, Oxford“They have been phenomenal for our 4year old cat. She is feisty and has unfortunately had quite a list of health issues over the past year and a half. Last year she became very sick basically overnight. Our previous primary "low cost" vet was impossible to get a hold of. I was frantically calling every vet I could find and no one was willing to fit her in as a new patient. They were so kind and did what they could to get us seen. They worked with us on finding her the right medication and offered affordable options. Their visits are pretty affordable as well. The doctor is great, thorough, and straight to the point. Would absolutely recommend.”
“I’ve been taking my dog here for years and only just met Dr.. Miska when taking my dog in for a sick visit. She was wonderful; very thorough and called/texted to make sure he was improving. They give you an estimate of the cost for the visit (scans, labs, meds, etc) so you know what the bill will be beforehand. Highly recommend!”

51 Depot St STE 501, Watertown“I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Stone. The staff and Doctors were nothing but caring and gentle with my Ella. She was a large and very nervous dog that would try to bite, however they handled her so well. The last vet I was at made me feel bad that she was like that. Not at Stone. They accepted her for the way she was. When it was time for her to cross the Rainbow Bridge the Techs and Dr AJ were so patient and gentle with her. Yesterday I received a card, handwritten, from Dr AJ sending her condolences and a little paw with seeds to plant to remember Ella. They also donated money to a charity in Ella's name. Beautiful. The business they used for cremation was wonderful as well. They sent her remains home in box I picked & it was put in a velvet bag along with an impression of Ella's paw and a Rainbow Bridge token. I am reading these other reviews and I am surprised at the accusations of price gouging. I never felt I was being charged too much. We have had dogs for almost 30 years and where I was taking them in the past was so much more expensive and the care for Ella deteriorated as she was difficult to handle. I hope Stone thrives and is around for a long time. Also I don't know why this is saying I'm from California! I live in Connecticut!!!”

“09.27.24 Update: CJ now 14 1/2 yrs old and still running, swimming, and enjoying life. He occasionally furniture hops to avoid walking to & from the sofa to loveseat. We discourage but..his QOL is important and he has that.
I'm not it's the ultimate solution..
But it seems to have helped CJ adapt and adjust to changes in functioning that accompany aging in senior dogs.
He's definitely slowing down. Lost wt. down from 60lbs to 54 lbs.
Changes in activities- endurance, tolerance. Butno matter what he still wants to play. He'll sleep longer but be ready to go the next day.
Depth perception is poor with his vision. Impaired hearing. Heightened anxiety. Tbh He was high strung as a puppy. Took 3 hours of exercise daily release all his energy and anxiety. wants to be around family all the time. Now Wherever i take him to exercise and swim, he keeps close by.
He'll run back and forth- to me.
Pet owners know aging isn't kind and doesn't discriminate.
But Librela can alleviate the pain and accordingly improve or maintain the mobility and functioning for our pets.
Just my experience.
Ty for reading.
Original post: VCA Naugatuck extended the quality of life of my then 13 yr 8 month old lab mix. This translated to increased life expectancy. His Annual appt in Dec 2023. Morning of appt Cj went outside to do one of the daily things dogs do outside. Sudden onset of intense pain and extreme difficulty with mobility. Slow and painful to get back inside. Weighs 60 lbs too heavy for me to carry him back in.
VCA DVM SARA DUPRE informed me of new treatment for chronic pain like arthritis approved for use earlier in 2023. i knew even if this episode resolved it had high probability of recurrence.
Oral meds given daily can be a hit or miss for maintaining comfort. A dog instinctively my not show pain until it becomes intolerable and interferes with basic activities for example walking around indoors, toileting outside, getting up from floor.
I agreed to trial Librela. DVM SARA educated me on most current available information regarding usage, rates of success; common adverse effects along with most recent newly observed effects and cases of no-effect. I was able to make a well informed decision and felt comfortable to begin this monthly treatment. Day of initial injection CJ returned home had to be carried from car to living level of raised ranch. Placed on bed and didn't move position x 5 hours when son carried outside to void.
No appetite. This continued x 3 days.
Slowly began repositioning self, stairs still a challenge.
4th day- like NONE OF THE PREVIOUS 3 days had happened! Back to acting like a 13 month old dog, running, jumping
(our attempts to discourage these was met with obstacle (us) avoidance maneuvers! Had mixed reactions-feelings. INITIAL WAS WOW!
Followed by Amazement, gratitude and Awe! LIBRELA literally improving his QOL [Quality Of Life] 4 days after initial dose!
CJ'S response to feeling like himself again led to our thoughts and verbalizations of "Stop this nonsense! Will you grow up! you're going on 14 yrs old not 14 months!
I highly recommend this VCA location and encourage anyone who has older dogs with pain interfering with their normal activities to educate themselves and talk to their Vet about Librela. Ty to all staff at Naugatuck VCA for giving me more time with CJ and improving his QOL so much he's back to his normal playful behaviors he's had since puppyhood.”

1095 Chase Pkwy, Waterbury“I've been using Mattatuck Animal Hospital for over 30 years and I don't have a single complaint. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and so is Doctor Turgeon. Additionally, there fees are very reasonable.”
“I have been going there for several years at least through five pets. They are very professional and very friendly. I have never had a problem there they can be a little pricey but they're very good at what they do.”
