Exotic Fish & Corals
374 New Haven Ave, MilfordThis is easily the best aquarium shop in the northeast. Bob, the owner, is wildly knowledgeable of all types of aquariums, corals, and products. The store is newly expanded & renovated. They have many modern acrylic aquarium kits and one of the best selection of fresh and saltwater fish I’ve ever seen. Absolutely incredible experience walking through this store and learning from the staff. Thank you, Bob & team for an unforgettable time!-Chris (Hartford whalers)

Pet Care

Milford Animal Hospital
256 Cherry St, Milford10/10 James at Milford animal hospital and staff always take amazing care of my cat MJ! She is consistently terrified to go to the vet but she comes home well groomed and happy as can be. The level of communication is appreciated and we super appreciate their updates as MJ goes through her vet appt that she has about every 6 months. She has to get sedated to be groomed and I love knowing she is in great hands when I drop her off. Highly recommend!

Dr. Neil Mandel, DVM
56 Quirk Rd, MilfordI want to say thank you to Dr. Lipsitz and the rest of the staff for treating our 13.5 year old yellow lab Dunkin. Dunk suffered a very sudden decline in health a little over a week ago and we were forced to take him to a different vet. We had no clear answer as to his ailment but were prescribed pain medication and were told his time was near. Hoping to get more clarity, I called Baybrook and they got Dunkin in right away. Our family was well aware that at his age, there was probably not much that could be done but we just hoped it was an infection that could be cleared and maybe give us a little more time with him. We went in for the blood work and Dr. Lipsitz and her staff treated our boy with care and compassion. They listened and they understood the situation and I was very grateful. Let me preface this by saying Dunk rarely saw a vet but was always VERY healthy. He had a very bad experience several years ago at a local boarding facility and ever since then, he was petrified going to the vet's office, so much so that he would urinate on the floor and would snarl. Now, anyone who knows our boy knows he was the most gentle, playful, affectionate pup around and I wish you all at Baybrook could have seen that side of him. After receiving the results of the blood work, we scheduled an immediate ultrasound to check the abdominal area for the presence of a tumor or some other mass. Dr. Lipsitz's concern was that our boy had a mass that may have or may be in the process of rupturing. Unfortunately, just prior to us bringing Dunk in for the ultrasound, his legs went limp and he couldn't walk, presumably due to the rupturing of the mass. We carried him out of the house and brought him right to Baybrook. They took him immediately, all staff members helped. He was their priority. Sadly, our boy didn't make it. The care and compassion shown by everyone far exceeded our expectations. Dunk was brought to a private room where he was put to sleep surrounded by his family. The process was thoroughly explained and went as smooth as can be. We were given as much time alone with him as we needed once he passed and all staff members offered their condolences when we left. I can't say enough about this place and highly recommend it to anyone. It's going to take some time but we will get another pup one day and I can guarantee he/she will be seen here. Please see that Dr. Lipsitz and the rest of her staff sees this review so they can understand how thankful we are for making our boy's last minutes on this earth as peaceful as possible. Thank You

VCA Baybrook Animal Hospital
56 Quirk Rd, MilfordHave been coming here for over 15 years. When another Vet said my pups time was limited, I got a 2nd opinion with Dr. Lipsit. My pup gained another 8 years under her care. She now takes care of my two newer pups. It is pricey, but it is worth it for the care you get from the best team. When we can't see Dr Lipsit, we see one of the other Doctors on staff. I have totally confidence in all of them!

Black Birch Farm
44 Old Gate Ln, MilfordRecently took our dog to Black Birch for boarding while we went on vacation. This was his first time away from family and around others. George calmed my worries and assured me that he would be okay. I was sent photos of him and he looked happy. I am grateful for finding them and now know he has a home in case we need to travel without him. Thank you so much to everyone at Black Birch Farm for taking care of my baby Kane.

Scratch N’ Sniff Pet Services LLC
144 Meadow Park Dr, MilfordI love that I can leave my pup Shiloh there and not worry about her. She's not in a crate all day, nor is she stuck inside a cage like a small compartment inside!!!! She's outdoors and playing with other dogs, and then she goes inside to cool off and maybe catch a nap with other dogs, too. I love SCRATCH N' SNIFF LLC

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Athletic Brewing Company
75 Cascade Blvd, MilfordI live in Florida and in December 2023 I had my last alcoholic drink, and I decided to do Dry January 2024 well, it’s February 2025 and I have not had a drop of alcohol and I love it! But I was missing the taste of beer, so while shopping at Publix grocery store, I saw this Athletic Brewing Co Upside Dawn, zero alcohol, so I was like let me try this! Man it tasted sooooo good! It reminded me of Bell’s Brewery Oberon from my home state of Michigan or a Blue Moon. Add a orange and boy oh boy very tasty! Great alternative for those who like the flavor of beer and don’t want the alcohol! They have several flavors too, so I signed up for their yearly club membership and I cannot wait to taste other flavors. Looking forward to making a virgin black and tan! Thanks so much guys for thinking of those who want the taste without the alcohol! ? ??

Scratch Baking
84 Broad St, MilfordCute bakery in the heart of Milford with a wide range of sweet and savory baked goods. Unsually good bread. They serve coffee too but there's only a small strip of a bar in front and no seats so it's really more of a takeout place. Service was super helpful, friendly, and efficient.

Hair of the Dog
128 Bridgeport Ave, MilfordHOD is a tragic attempt on a neighborhood bar. The food is gross and service is shotty at best. They are out of a multitude of food and beverage items regularly. Sandra the owner is always drunk, sloppy, and looking for a hand out. Her staff too. There is zero reason to ever patronize this establishment. Save yourself the aggravation and possible food poisoning and keep driving. There are plenty of great places to stop in the neighborhood
