Pet Grooming
Pink Paws Grooming
127 Main St, DerbyI had an excellent experience. The price point is more than reasonable. They were very gentle and I got the exact groom i asked for. Everyone was very friendly. Their website is really easy to use and lots of updates via text. I was nervous to get my cat groomed because of her age and expressed my concerns prior. During her groom I got a text update on how she was doing and after groom a picture update. Even though the street is under construction currently it was still easy to park and drop off/pick up. The location is convenient right off of route 8, and there are plenty of other businesses (coffee shops, breweries, home depot) within a mile to kill time while your pet gets groomed. And my cat got a cute bandana. (My cat is 18yrs old).

Pet Care
River Valley Veterinary Hospital
88 Sodom Ln, DerbyMy family and I have brought our dogs to Dr. Moore for over 18 years and the level of care and concern she has shown all our dogs over this time is a testament to her compassion and professionalism, but more importantly, her deep understanding that these pets are more than just animals to their owners, they are family. My dog recently underwent his first teeth cleaning and despite the fact that he is extremely anxious while in the office, Dr. Moore and her amazing staff handled him carefully and cautiously to avoid aggravating his mood, and I received regular texts to my cell throughout the day with status on his condition. The staff equal Dr. M's love of both their job and their furry patients and each and every one is kind and gentle with our dogs. While the office does tend to be busy, clearly a result of the number of pet owners that echo my sentiments, Dr. Moore and Dr. Celentano, or one of the staff, have always taken the time to get back to our family with emails or calls to assess and discuss our concerns and develop a plan that best suites our dog's needs. When our concerns we're identified as urgent, time has always been made to get our dogs into the office. Just today I received an email well after hours from Dr. Moore regarding treatment that my dog needs on his hip. She understood how worried I was that my dog was struggling and wanted to ensure I was given a number of options that would work best for him and that we had a plan laid out for treatment. River Valley offers a level of personal attention that we've simply not experienced at other vets with a staff that truly value the lives and well being of our dogs.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants
A.M. Bagel
111 New Haven Ave, DerbyAM Bagel is the only bagel game in the area. (Not literally, there is Katz Deli, Whitney Donut, there's one in Naugatuck, and maybe one more) But for a variety of bagels, coffee, fun cream cheese flavors, fun bagel flavors (Peach Cobbler??) and a friendly experience? AM Bagel. For every bagel place I go, I get the lox sandwich and this one is solid. The traffic in and out is congested, a little complicated, and there is usually a line out the door on a nice morning. But they are efficient and the line moves quickly. I recommend.
Parking: A tortuous parking lot and it's complicated when it's busy.

BADSONS Beer Co.
251 Roosevelt Dr, DerbyReview August 2024 Sunday afternoon outside was great weather. We grabbed an outdoor table and a few drinks and ordered the pizza. While there had a good band playing some good top 40 /jazz music. Really good experience overall. Beer, wine, and pre-made Vodka drinks are all available. Pizza is Roselands and it was good - thought it would be more New Haven style crust - it wasn't, but still was tasty. Pizza was a decent bar style pizza. Lot of beer selections. It would be nice to have more wine selections.
