“From the outside you wouldn't know how friendly and nice it is on the inside. I have stopped here for gas several times while seeing my foot doctor in Bloomfield and the staff once engaged is amazingly friendly, polite and I enjoy my time visiting the store and getting gas and necessary staples for the day. “I'd say, "Ol' Reliable." When I planned my trip to Connecticut, I assumed I could depend on Lyft. How wrong I was!!! Luckily I found out about Yellow Cab Co and was impressed by how immediately/unconditionally they were reached by phone! They operate 24/7. Their version of "ASAP pickup" usually denotes 30 minutes - WAY better than Lyft/Uber which just straight up has no rides. The prices were great, in my experience! I paid exactly what I would have paid with a Lyft, if not a little less. They dropped me off in Essex one day, and later got me to the train station early. The taxi consistently arrived a few minutes before scheduled. I recommend to schedule your ride in advance; when I didn't call ahead on a Friday night, I wasn't able to get a ride from them. (I ended up getting a ride from some kind strangers I met - Connecticut is awesome, LOL!) The taxi itself is emblazoned with their logo, as well as a hint of eau-de-cigarette, but nothing unpleasant. There was a nice safety divider which still made our voices audible. I was able to charge my phone in the car. When I asked my driver to slide his mask up a tad, and he happily did so and did the same during my second trip. And I was happy to support a local business!”
