“I have been kicking myself for not having any idea the ReStore store has been so close to me for a while now. I purchased my house in 2016, this store would have saved me so much money, I had no idea what it was, or had any interest in it. When I would drive by, I thought it was a storage facility. I didn't think twice about putting it into Google, Yelp or going inside to see what it was. My friend pointed it out to me the other day, and said we have to go there. Ohhmyygoodness this is a MUST stop if you are moving into a new apartment or house. They have furniture galore. They have dining tables and chairs, desks, lamps and chandeliers, framed artwork and mirrors, and so much more. New inventory is constantly coming in. Everything is so much less expensive than any furniture store, even less expensive than Ikea, yet the quality is there. I got this very cute painting of a lighthouse in a beautiful white wood frame for $5. I also got a pouf for sitting for only $15. I have been looking for one of these for a while, they are super expensive, the one that matches my couch was $200. This one is black and white, pretty neutral, looks great and is such a bargain. If you need anything new for your home, please stop by here first. There is no way you'll walk out empty handed.”

More specifically, the reason why they have such high-quality products is of course they're trustworthy and honest but, it's important for the consumer to understand that they have high-quality products because they don't want to engage in a huge amount of returns. “Great products and outstanding customer service.I purchased one of their metal security doors for a secure room in my house. It arrived on a pallet secure in it's cardboard packaging, well packaged between two sections of plywood for protection. After opening it up, not a scratch on it. The primary trucking company transferred it to a local delivery company for final delivery (a smaller truck with a lift gate). With their pallet jack, the driver was able to manauver it safely down my paved driveway and into the garage. My door and frame weighed approximately 225 pounds.My contractor installed it yesterday, anchoring it as recommended in the installation video. He has installed a lot of doors over his career and was very impressed with the door, frame, and locking system. His comment was someone would have an easier time going through my concrete basement walls, than through this door system.I am very satisfied with this product. So much so, I placed an order today for a second door for another part of my house. Wanting to have them keyed the same, their customer service (shout out to Anthony) guided me through ordering to make that happen, and he answered my questions on the lock upgrade.Again, great product and outstanding customer service!”

They did not have it in stock, and they said they would have to email the manufacturer for a quote and lead time. They were accommodating but didn't have what I need. “Two evenings ago my furnace broke and as luck would have it the low that night was 12 degrees. The following day I attempted to have my furnace serviced only to find out it needed to be replaced and would take a few days. Fortunately I have two pellet stoves. Unfortunately I had just maxed out my credit card and then some to replace my furnace. I have only been a customer at Valley Home and Garden for the purchase of my pellets as of late Nov 2019, I just moved into this house. I went into Valley today and explained my dilema to Fred and told him my house was cold and I had kids at home and asked if I could please take a few bags of pellets and return the following day to pay for them. He said "absolutely! How many do you need?" I told him that I thought 4 would get me by and happily thanked him with a promise to return with payment the next day. He said "not to worry about it" only asked for my phone number and said I wouldn't hear from them for atleast a week and to take my time getting back to them. As I was loading my 4 bags into my car Fred came outside and said "would you like 8 bags? I don't want your house to be cold". What an incredible jesture and what an amazing act of kindness. I am truely greatful to Fred and those at Valley Home and Garden. I will be a return customer for life. Thank you.”

“This place has saved my DIYer butt more times that I'd care to admit. We used to go in there regularly for hardware, and to rent equipment. I've moved out of the area, but still have relatives the next town over, and when I need something of a hardware nature. I pass several big box stores to get to City because I know they know what they are talking about.Earlier this year, when another locally owned hardware and rental place couldn't be bothered to do the most basic part number search for a pulley on an older lawn tractor, I went to City and not only did they bother, they had the part in stock. Yesterday, I needed another part for the same tractor, they didn't have in stock, but they were able to order it. And because of their knowledge, they cross-referenced the part number and found me the right part at a fraction of what the labeled brand would have cost. You can't replace that type of expertise.You don't know what you've got until it's gone. Local hardware stores have been losing out to the big box stores for decades. The True Value in Southington closed decades ago, and our local True Value in New Milford just closed last week. The loss of that institutional knowledge is immeasurable. Can the staff sometimes be a little gruff? Maybe, but I'll take gruff and able to solve the problem over just ignoring you or not knowing what they are talking about any day.”

“Went in to fix and buys some doors. This store had everything I needed: Wood metal fence and two doors for self install. Didn't need to look around like people seem to say. There's employees everywhere waiting to help out. All you got to do is look. They have supplies well stocked too. No problem with this here store. I like it.”
