“Sasha and his crew at modern rugs are amazing! They helped me pick a beautiful rug for my apartment and they were so professional. The had an endless variety of different rugs of the highest quality. Even the ambiance of the store was very cozy and comforting.”
“Fold the disclosure. I only went here to see a movie. The stores were all closed. The windows are full of beautiful and interesting household items and appliances. I'm sure it's heaven for designers”

8687 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood“Y'know, Elton throws his annual post-Oscars party here. Not sure how my invitations get lost every year, but Jamie W. and I found ourselves strolling Melrose Avenue and facing this monolithic structure. Actually 'monolithic' is not the right word because the complex consists of three asymmetrical buildings in three colors - Blue (1975), Green (1988), and Red (2013).No surprise how cavernous it was. Designed by renowned architect Cesar Pelli (...he later designed the Salesforce Tower), it has a similarly austere feeling which amplifies the emptiness inside. It's not a retail shopping center, it's primarily a series of designer showrooms so you have to have a lot of ka-ching to be considered a serious consumer. We were just looking for the toilet.RELATED - Exploring LA? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: bit.ly/2TWT63v”
“Really enjoying our continued experience with Alfonso Montoya. We went into the store just as we were moving earlier this summer - purchased a Platner table. We needed the delivery to be delayed, this was a breeze to organize. Then we needed to order two ghost chairs, these arrived very quickly but one was missing and again Alfonso saved the day and is organizing the replacement of this one chair left behind. It turns out the quantity was just incorrectly entered on the invoice - simple mistake. Then we wanted the Platner Side Table so we contacted Alfonso again who made this a very easy process. I'm sorry to those of you who had a slightly bitter experience but we've had really great service and follow up.”
“My sister-in-law works at Jenni Kayne, so I wear a lot of their clothes and shoes (in fact, I'm wearing a Jenni Kayne sweater and clogs right now). I've been consistently happy with their quality and wearability over the years. The style is also perfect for me, a 38-year-old mom who just wants attractive, well made basics. I don't usually go into Jenni Kayne stores, but I happened to find myself right next to this one on Almont and decided to take a peek. This was apparently the first store, and it was very pleasant, with a relaxing, upscale vibe. I browsed the racks and tried on some shoes that were out on the floor. The staff left me alone in a way I didn't mind. I enjoyed my browse and made a mental note of a few things to buy down the line. If you like nice sweaters and comfortable everyday shoes, definitely check out Jenni Kayne.”
“I adore this store. Such great finds, art, home decor and even jewelry. It has the best items for finishing touches in a home - all my designer and stylist friends shop here. The owner, Lauren, has a great eye and has curated great products from all over - including a lot of local artisans. Definitely pop in - there’s always new gorgeous products - I find new things I “need” every time I visit ?”
