“Lucky Penny General store is a gem in Santa Monica. It's more like a home goods store, interior design style. Lots of home accessories. A mix of modern and nostalgic. The store is well lit and designed. Browsing is always fun and Claudia is the best. She also has great food recommendations nearby. I always go by for the classic candy machine. Worth considering when buying gifts for family and friends.”

“Highly recommend Sofa Interiors. I'm not one to write reviews but wanted to leave one for SF due to their excellent craftsmanship and service. Scott (owner) took the time to meet with me and carefully explain the work they would be doing on my mission-style furniture. They picked up the furniture, completed the work beautifully and delivered the whole set on time, maybe a day or two early. Left me a loaner too!
There was a minor creaking sound when sitting on one end of the sofa. They followed up and came to the house and fixed that promptly. I couldn't be happier with the service they provided!”
“I was looking for a very specific type of bridal bouquet for my elopement, I wanted wild and whimsical, almost like I'd hand gathered from a wildflower filled hillside, with some bit of drape. I personally don't like the tight and rounded bouquets, give me wispy fairy bouquets any day! I wasn't sure if I'd find it nearby, but lo and behold doing a google search, I found Wild Stems on Beverly. Ana created the most gorgeous bouquet for my big day, and I loved it so much I decided to hang dry it as a decorative dried arrangement a few days afterwards instead of letting it die and tossing it out. I even dried the boutonnière, it looks so cute next to the bouquet. If you're looking for an artful, wildly beautiful bridal bouquet that will stand out, check out Wild Stems! “Such a unique store with unique, fun and interesting merchandise. I'm so happy this mom and pop store has been able to thrive over the years as it truly is a favorite to visit in my town and it's terribly hard to be in business these days. They do such a good job with their Instagram page and promoting their awesome themed art shows and various art events. I love their annual pet show as always come home with portraits of my dog from the artists that attend. I love that you can order online. They helped out a lot during the pandemic. They are always so helpful when you go in too. This last weekend I went in to find some Valentine's Day gifts for family members and sure enough left with some fun goodies. “I cant believe that Ive been coming to this store for like 7 years and it FINALLY DAWNED ON ME TO WRITE A REVIEW??! This store is soooo elegant and FULL of splendor and amazing curated vintage and modern pieces. It reminds me of a high end box of chocolates where the box and wrapping and ribbon is so elegant that you feel guilty for eating the candy lol. This place is my guilty pleasure. The decadence comes from the decor and selection but the sweetness comes from the staff. Its a small staff but they work hard to help you find what you are looking for and what you didnt even know you needed in your wardrobe! lol. The owners Marie and Ian are very kind and down to earth and have treated me so well all these years. I am truly grateful to them for helping my little collection of awesome vintage grow. “After Necromance, sadly, closed their brick and mortar shop, there was a brief period in time where their combination of taxidermy and Victoriana was no where to be seen. I'm a big fan of Gold Bug in Pasadena, but they are not quite as "dark" in their aesthetic. Memento Mori, on the other hand, feels like a pretty good replacement. So, what are you going to find here? Well, as you may have guessed from my intro, taxidermy. The classic boars and deer heads preserved as wall ornaments...but also delicate butterflies beautifully arranged under glass domes. While no where near as extensive a collection of preserved animal parts as Necromance, there still is a decent collection, particularly for decor. Memento Mori also lacks the strong mothball smell that permeated the aforementioned store. There is a large collection of silver jewelry incorporating classic taxidermy elements, such as glass eyes. And lots of trinkets for those of a "gothic" aesthetic. They also carry a number of very comfortable tshirts bearing variations of their logo, one of which currently hangs in my closet. Memento Mori also appears to serve as a gothic community center: they always have flyers and posters advertising events such as Endless Night, a vampire-themed ball, or gothic-themed fairs for artisans. So, definitely worth a visit if your aesthetics or predilections lean to the darker side of life.”
