I joined this gym because I wanted to pursue bodybuilding and my home workouts weren't cutting it. I lasted 4 months at this gym because I couldn't take the emotional, verbal, and mental abuse anymore. After the owner got in my face on 2/22/22 I was finished. I am still amazed at how cool calm and collected I was that day. I started training with the owner because he seemed well versed and knowledgeable about the subject matter , however much to my dismay there was a lot of turbulence from start because he is not a people person and he could learn a thing or 2 about basic human decency common courtesy and respect. Also he exhibited frequent mood swings and would be extremely aggressive. Not a day went by in which I didn't experience some form of either emotional or mental abuse from him. I experienced a lot of bullying and body shaming from him and a lot of nasty and inappropriate comments he even mocked me for working minimum wage jobs, and working as a Dental Assistant whilst I became a paralegal( Which I became a certified Paralegal officially very recently) 1 which is none of his damn business and 2 I needed to work in order to pay for his ineffective training sessions not only was he unkind to me, but he also sat and gossiped about everyone and everything he is extremely judgmental and prejudiced and I was on the receiving end of bullying because on my looks as well as due to the fact that he made assumptions about my sexual orientation. He was discriminatory towards everyone he looked down on Dental workers or any other blue collar pretentious and egotistical in its purest form. He would also use it against me for asking him to hold on to my payments because money was tight he didn't want to let me go but he didn't want to accommodate me and would make me feel guilty about circumstances that were beyond my control. My simple requests he would use against me which is so unfair to treat a client like that. He would breadcrumb me every chance he got and it never got better. Due to the frequent stress that I experienced it took a toll on my body and my progress and would blame my slow progress due my "bad genetics" and I know it was because my mental health was profoundly impacted by his emotional and mental abuse which translated into the physical i.e I wouldn't be able to sleep at night, and my anxiety would reach new levels the purpose of training is to feel better about yourself not worse. As someone in his 30s I was reliving my abusive teenage years and 20s in which I would be systematically disenfranchised when I was a member at this gym. I had no say and no rights I couldn't even go to the bathroom without him screaming at me. He would grab my arm fat and tell me that my arms looked like Kielbasha and he would grab my chest telling me that my chest looked like a saggy middle aged woman's breast, and when I would politely tell him it;s not right to speak to someone who is trying to improve their body like that he would default to calling homophobic slurs that were too graphic to mention here on 2 occasions I would walk out of the gym in the middle of the training sessions and I put up with his abusive behavior because I was conditioned to believe that all bodybuilders who train behave in this manner which is not true. Every time I had a question about the workouts or food plan he would accuse me of arguing with him. There was also another trainer at the gym had his own personal prejudices against me and he would also mock me and fat shame me and once I spoke up for myself and he also got in my face and he even put fake vomit on the sink and lied to the owner and told me that it was me. The trainer who framed me with the vomit didn't even reprimanded but I would be reprimanded and scolded like a smallest child for the most trivial of things. This gym is just full of menopausal middle aged babies with a god complex, who behave themselves like they are still in high school . Typical tired LA BS lol. The best part is that when I addressed his unjust behavior towa

This gym is absolutely great! Very private gym no one bothers you while your working out. It's never too crowded to where it's difficult to use the gym equipment. Also, Mark Cage a personal trainer, trains a few of his clients here at the gym.His client literally has been training for 2 months and has dropped weight and getting lean muscle, which is very impressive! All the trainers here at this gym are amazing and very nice. They have fresh towels to use here while working out which is a plus. Love this local gym if you reside in Sherman Oaks OR Studio city areas it is very convenient . Oh and they have parking lot available for fee parking which is a big time plus!

I was a member here for 11 years and it was very exactly what I needed. Quiet, never a wait for equipment, nobody bothering you. Plenty of space and great value for the price. I had to move, but I recommend this gym and its trainers to all!

This is a very secluded private gym open 7 days a week and extremely convenient, also very affordable gym membership's to the public. Actually priced the gym's in the area and studio city fitness stood out to me as very convenient and private to train here. Feel very at home here great energy! Positive vibes all the way. They also are offering personal training here which is absolutely awesome. The trainers at studio city fitness are very professional and knowledgeable which is amazing!!! I have been coming here for years!! And have no intentions to stop!!! The gyms around the area don't match what studio city fitness offers. The owner of studio city fitness is very cool. Very outgoing and and always has great energy. I would recommend this gym to anyone ! Personal training at its finest ask for mark cage

Make sure to check your credit card statements after going here - Demetri billed me two additional times after charging me for the first membership period, said he would refund me, never has

Gym membership was canceled two years ago. I still get monthly charges that I dispute with credit card and get refunded each time. Place was closed for at least a year. But charges are still coming.

No. Uh-uh. Absolutely not. The equipment is like 20 years old and the musclehead that runs it is creepy. It's cheaper than a good gym but there's a reason for that.

Stay away from this place. The machines are old and the place is generally run down. No TVs or juice bar but I don't care about that, I go to workout and then go home. The real problem is the angry and very aggressive owner. I know of two trainers that left the gym because he wouldn't refund any of their client's money for the three months it was closed during the first pandemic wave. Then today my yearly membership was up and I wanted to change it to a monthly membership because if we were to go into another shutdown at some point I wanted some way to withhold payment for the months I wasn't there. The owner was happy to do that but charged me $100 just to go from a yearly membership to a monthly membership because of some bookkeeping BS. Now, just know that I've been going there for ten years at least and you'd think that he might say, 'What the heck, you're a good customer, we'll waive the $100 fee.' Nope. I told him I thought charging me a hundo just to change from yearly to monthly was ridiculous and I didn't want to pay that. Basically, it was "Goodbye, get out.' I forgot to mention that I also asked if it was possible to get a credit for the three months the gym was closed? He told me it wasn't him that closed it, it was the government - so no refund. And I could take it off my taxes anyway as a loss. WTF? Like this guy knows anything about taxes. Anyway, there are a lot of good gyms in the Studio City/Sherman Oaks area, they cost a bit more but they have a much cleaner gym and newer equipment... and an owner that cares about their clients. I think it's worth the cost.

I really like this place. I never really liked gyms, either too crowded, people not respecting personal space, cleanliness issues, prices, contracts, the list goes on but this place is a hidden gem. Everyone who goes there is a regular and Dimitri is professional and nice. Everyone that works their is and all the people who work out there are as well. It's a great price too. I stayed away from gyms for the past 6 years and my husband showed me this place about 3 months ago and we've been going every week since. I think the majority of others reviews saying the owner, Dimitri is aggressive or mean, are wrong, I think they are just facing a bit of a culture shock and don't get out much. I'm a tiny 5 foot female and I've never felt uncomfortable.

I really like this place. If you're looking for a low-key, old-school gym where you can come and do your workout without hassle or attitude, this is a great spot. I couldn't care less about the equipment being old --- I don't need my dumbbells glossy and new. You will have everything you need if you want to do your weight routine and use cardio equipment. Good free weights area plus lots of machines, as well as a spot for stretching. You'll see all kinds of people here: elite East European lifters as well as trainers working with elderly women. Nobody bugs you. The owner is perfectly polite. He enforces common sense rules, like no talking on your cell in the weight area. I'm glad he does. He is a no fuss guy, and not warm and fuzzy. Just low key and runs the place well. No upsell. There are no fancy bathrooms or showers here. If you prefer a bit of glitz and glam and the latest stuff, look elsewhere. I live out of state. Dimitri allows temporary memberships that are totally affordable, so I can use the gym only when I am in town for a week or two.

The owner of this gym is very aggressive like a previous review said. I have been working out here with a trainer for the past two months. He has always been rude and dismissive, especially to women. Today he has been doing renovation by himself and the gym is a holy mess, completely disrupting the workouts of people but everyone was working around it. Today after my workout I went to the restroom- which had no sign that said "do not use." I use the restroom, flush the toilet, wash my hands. Then hear aggressive banging and yelling at the door. I open it. There is the owner (names Dimitri) standing less than two feet from me yelling at me, gesturing at water- coming from the washing machine- not the restroom, yelling at me that "he told me not to use it." Which he did not. I am still shaking from my encounter with him. Ladies stay away. This gym is garbage, the equipment is old and this man will harass you and make you feel unsafe.

Hi, I have been going there for 5 months. I absolutely love the place! Dmitriy the owner is so polite and the best trainer. I went in with bad back pain and within weeks I no longer had pain. He showed me correct exercises to strengthen my back. I love the cozy feel there. All the members and trainers have been super polite and friendly at all times. I definitely would recommend this gym to all my friends and family.
