“All around, the front staff makes a big difference. Devinn's orientation, the workout and the technology. The workout is easy to follow. I got real luck, because my first instructor was Kalli who has great energy! I had one workout where my rower didn't capture my data. That was a big bummer and I hope they can fix that. I think long term if the data didn't capture, I would reduce my score to a 8 or 7. Overall, this location is well-run, clean and a great vibe. I was hesitant with all the monitors, but after orientation with Devinn, I was comfortable.”

“SBM is an amazing place. They have the best instructors I’ve ever worked with. Not only are they knowledgeable and experts in their field, you can feel that they are kind and caring. Without hesitation, they tailor the class for you - offering modifications when needed.”

“I LOVE the xformer machine (it's by far my favorite) and there's only a few studios out here that use it. MPX was the closest studio to me so I tried them out first, and I'm so happy I did! I love their class format and their instructors! Granted, I've only taken it with one instructor so far but she's incredibly talented - she's patient, kind, mindful of everyone's differences (in terms of level/comfort/strength), explains proper form and how to engage different muscles (e.g., if you want to make an exercise more quad dominant vs glutes), and never forgets if there's someone in class that has a limitation and/or needs a modification due to an injury. I've tried a few other studios around here and the only thing they have over this one is better packages ($savings). If you can afford to splurge a little, choose this studio (sign up now!). I promise you won't regret it.”

“I am fairly new to Team Rahsaan Fitness and 1:1 workouts with Rahsaan. It took very little time to recognize Rahsaan as one of the most talented, experienced and committed trainers in the area. Rahsaan is focused on helping me achieve my personal fitness goals through custom workout plans which include a holistic approach to fitness. He makes every session challenging yet positive and, dare I say, fun.”

“This review is long overdue. Thunder Fitness has been a godsend for me and my husband. Price is VERY affordable for a small-business family-owned gym and they're very transparent with fees, check their website for details. You won't run out of equipment or weights as a novice, intermediate, or advanced lifter. Busy hours (5-7pm on weekdays) are a fraction of what you'd find at a commercial gym and you can guarantee that you'll be able to use whatever rack, machine, or free weights you need within 15 min. Most of all, we've found a great community at Thunder to help keep us accountable. The people here are all on different walks of their health journey, but they're humble, hard-working, and determined to prioritize their fitness and longevity. Check it out :)”

“I just joined F45 and LOVE it! I have tried all workouts like Barrys, Soul Cycle, Orange Theory, been a member of Equinox and Crunch and more and this just fits exactly what I need! I thrive in a group atmosphere and the community here is amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and I also love that it's a phenomenal workout at only 45 minutes! I'm a mother of two kids and need to be efficient with my time, but also prioritize myself to stay in shape!! Love all the trainers here.. Ami, Mike, Leslie and Aimee! So happy to be a part of the F45 fam!”

“Hands down the best CrossFit gym I have ever been to besides my home gym here in Chicago. I visited as a walk-in last week and loved HGX so much that I came back for a second class... while on vacation, no less. I had Jazmin and Julie as my coaches during my two visits - they were welcoming and gave me excellent feedback on form. The broader HGX community is also incredibly friendly and diverse in profession, age, race, culture, and CrossFit levels. Thank you HGX for being a highlight of my Bay Area trip.Advice for travelers: Eat all the good food the Bay Area has to offer, and work it off at HGX :)- Matthew, Chicago”

“I recently completed the 12 week transformation with Sam and I am so grateful for all that I learned and gained (and lost!) throughout the entire process. I highly recommend this gym and the 12 week transformation to anyone who is ready and serious about improving their health and transform not only physically but mentally and emotionally in the best way. I heard about the 12 week transformation from a friend and I instantly knew that this was something that I needed to get into to kickstart my health journey that I longed for but had no idea how to start. (For context, I have a 5-year-old son and after giving birth, my health declined and my wellbeing was no longer a priority.) Sam and I met for a consultation and immediately he made it very clear that my lifestyle was going to do a complete 180, but he assured me he was going to be there for me every step of the way - I needed the accountability! With Sam's coaching and training, I was able to lose 49lbs in the 12 weeks. 49lbs!!! In addition, my energy levels have increased, my mood has improved, and I've been able to develop and practice discipline. I also began healing my relationship with food and I learned to use my time in the gym as stress relief. Overall, my transformation experience has been healing in more ways than one. Sam was available outside of our time in the gym to answer questions re: meal plans, workouts, and has been so gentle and supportive when having to modify workouts. He is also extremely knowledgeable and has taught me so much through our training! Other things I love about TS is that the rest of the trainers and interns have been nothing but helpful and supportive! The space, the community, and the trainers are all so welcoming. The gym is spacious, clean and organized. There's cool artwork all over the walls. Most importantly, I feel safe and comfortable to actually workout in a space with no-judgment.”

“Alex is a good coach who makes laugh even when he is killing me in the workouts. I also appreciate Coach Darren for what he did for me during hard times. Thank you”

“I've never done a rowing class before and took a class with a friend of mine who is a member. It was a great workout. Staff were friendly, provided a tour of facility and walked me through everything I needed to know as a newbie. It's a smaller, boutique gym so there aren't showers but they have clean and spacious bathrooms where you can change. They went over membership pricing and bulk/individual class costs without being too pushy.”

“IMPACT is a great kickboxing gym for all levels. My husband I joined a year ago with different experience levels (I have a black belt in taekwondo, whereas he was completely new to this kind of workout). Both of us have grown over the past year thanks to the instructors at IMPACT. They're all really friendly and knowledgeable! I've been to all kinds of gyms, and none of them match the culture at IMPACT. Everyone feels welcome here.”

“I have been taking classes from Kelly (HIIT, Boot Camp, Kick Boxing, Spin...etc) for years. I am the type that needs the class to be fun, filled with good music, and throw in a few laughs. Her classes check all the boxes, and the group/community there is a huge bonus. She is great at encouraging you to push yourselves, but the classes allow you the flexibility to dial up or down the intensity based on your comfort level or how you feel that day ;). I highly recommend giving this place a try. I find fitness is important for the health of your mind and body. I leave my classes here feeling like I have achieved both.”

“This gym is a true fitness gem. Edwin ensures a top-quality environment with excellent equipment and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. My trainer and good friend Mark that works here is a real professional, offering personalized, effective workout sessions. The combined passion and professionalism of all trainers here create an unbeatable gym experience that caters to all fitness levels. Highly recommended for anyone looking to achieve their fitness goals in a friendly and supportive setting.”

“I am 38 and have always hated the idea of working out. I also have suffered from severe anxiety my whole life. I decided to do the 6 week challenge and I can't believe I'm saying this but within the first week it changed my life. I haven't had an anxiety attack at all for the last month and SO MANY other things are happening (job offers, money randomly coming in, old friends contacting me). This place is magic. From someone that didn't believe in this shit before I'm telling you it's real. Mike and Jess (trainers) really care about you and help you. I can't believe it took me so long to do this. The past is the past. Let the dead bury the dead. Now is the only time that exists. I am finally becoming the person I have always wanted.to be. THANK YOU!”

“Newer member. Like the place overall.Pluses:— Clean.— Friendly, helpful staff (not there Sundays though).— Pretty uncrowded.— Easy to get in and out.— Cheaper than Mountain View YMCA (but more expensive than big gym chains).— Nice ‘regular ppl’ vibe (aka seems mostly roid-bro and bimbo free).— They actually have Airex pads (comfy).— Open 24-7 (‘cept a couple of hours on Friday evenings).Minuses:— Small size means they won’t have everything.— Specifically, no shoulder press machine is a BIG miss. There’s actually room for it.— Could really use a small dedicated stretching area with mirrors. Some ppl are doing physical therapy.— They have clocks, but bigger and/or digital ones are much more useful. You want to be able to easily tell time between sets (rest periods) from anywhere.Overall, can’t ask for much better from a small gym. You may eventually outgrow it, but it’s quite good for what it is. ?”

“Excellent school for kids. Sifu Li is a great teacher - the right balance of guidance and firmness, praise and instruction, and also understanding that they are in fact just kids; inspiring them to go forward and be focused and learn respect and be disciplined while also having fun. Can't praise it highly enough.”

“Excellent, small gym. It's always super clean and well maintained. People rerack their weights and are super polite. It's never been so convenient for me to go to the gym, so this has really changed the game for me.It's usually not crowded. Peak hours are before/after work on weekdays, with a small bump at lunch time.It has everything you need, although of course not everything a larger gym would have (ex: no squat rack, no dumbbells over 50lb, not all the exotic machines). The classes are high quality.”

“The friendliest serous gym you'll find. Lots of serious Oly lifters absolutely no posers and none of the 'scene' you'd find at Crunch, yet welcoming to noobs and dinosaurs alike.”

“Finally a gym on the SLAC campus. Lots of workout machines and a full basketball course. Also there is a volleyball and soccer field. I just wish there is better ventilation system inside.”

“This was a great gym for a drop in. I was able to sign up for class easily online ahead of time. Tim (owner/coach) is really experienced and knowledgeable. The people were friendly and very welcoming and the gym was organizing and well equipped. Looking forward to my next visit.”

“Curves is the best way to exercise! It takes 30 minutes out of your day and the bonus is meeting the nicest and helpful staff and other women working to stay in shape and stay healthy. Check out the Los Altos Curves. You wont’s regret it!”

“This is one of the best gyms in the area, and I would say even more luxurious than the bay club. It's clean, has all the facilities you need, swimming pool, rock wall, weights, and class. I was lucky enough to have membership due to my employer. The staff is super nice and friendly as well, and always helpful. They also provide free services like body/fat assessment and suggested workout routine. Only wish they can stay open until 8, and open on the weekends. That just shows how great the gym is.”

“I've been a member of the gym for 3 years now. It is by far the best gym/fitness center I have ever belonged to. They have every piece of gear I could ask for. I highly recommend Fullsterkur!”
