The Urban Pet
1127 Fair Oaks Ave, South PasadenaThey have a brand of freeze dried salmon snacks that my cats absolutely lose their little cats minds for. I really appreciate the expanded selection of Weruva that I can't get at PetSmart. Also, a great selection of cat toys with leather/fur (the good stuff!)

Pet Grooming
South Pasadena Veterinary Hospital
1911 Fremont Ave, South PasadenaThis is a great business. They are always friendly, helpful, and professional whether you need an appointment, prescription refill, or just have a question, they are there to help. Our veterinarian was Dr Navia. She is a superb clinician, has great surgical skills and is very gentle with animals. She treated our dog for a bad heart valve and heart failure over a couple of years. When his disease progressed and we decided on euthanasia to prevent suffering she was very skillful at the procedure and provided us emotional support as well. Everyone at the facility is service oriented. You will never feel like you are bothering them and never feel like they are in it for the money. A simply great group of people. As a retired family doctor I give them my best recommendation,

Pet Care
Vet Villa Animal Hospital
2140 Huntington Dr, South PasadenaThe staff is so kind and helpful! The front desk is really nice and the vet team is as well. Appreciate they help you figure out next steps for your pet without you feeling forced to go all out and test for everything if you cant afford it. They find a good balance to help your pet one step at a time. Also the wait is always fairly short and reasonable which i really appreciate as well. And they seem to genuinely care and want to help! I had been going to a different vet for years prior until i moved, and i'm shocked at how much nicer and efficient and helpful this vet clinic and staff is. They have helped my dog and cat so much and i'm so thankful!!!

Obedience Please Dog Training
721 Fair Oaks Ave, South PasadenaTook our Havanese puppy to Howard and the team and in only a couple months this dog was doing commands like a full grown man. It was magic! The team is so friendly and amazing. We come once a week to visit the pup but also to hear some of Howard’s amazing stories. He’s a great guy who really cares about your relationship with your special family member. His method is organic and natural they teach the dogs to respond with love.
George is a rockstar at what he does and he was the one who trained our pup. David is amazing and so are the others. Howard explains the process and has great communication with his clients. I give it a 10/10! Thank you Howard George & David!

Pet-Friendly Restaurants
Cos & Pi
303 Pasadena Ave, South PasadenaHave tried this place on multiple occasions both dine in and take out and they do not miss!!! Solid portions, tasty food, matchas are delicious, garlic fries are perfectly garlicky!! My brother also had the corn soto which he raves about still to this day and he had it months ago. The avocado toast was massive, more fluffy than I like (would opt for a more toastier bread) but still delicious. The LABT was huge! Definitely would get that again. It's in a cute neighborhood not surrounded by a lot of other establishments so it gives it a cozy feel. They have seating in their main area inside, out front, and also a tent in the back with several tables. The service was good! The staff was helpful choosing options for breakfast! Would certainly return to bring others!

Shakers
601 Fair Oaks Ave, South PasadenaWe love Shakers. A basic neighborhood diner with good comfort food. We have so many favorites but their sole dinner is really outstanding - tender, buttery sole with a good tartar sauce and veggies plus your choice of mashed potatoes or rice. Highly recommend this!
Their fish and chips are really good too - crisp, crunchy and flavorful!! Comes with coleslaw and fries. Delicious!!
Staff are all friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend if you’re in the neighborhood. Thanks, Shakers!!

The Munch Company
1028 Mission St, South PasadenaThis is my second time at The Munch Company and I adore it here. They play quiet and peaceful music and make a delicious sandwich! I particularly enjoy the fact you can pick your own bread. I don't think there is free wifi, so I just use my hotspot if I need to get some quick studying in. The service is great and the workers are so kind. I really recommend this place and the hot in the club sandwich if you want a good sandwich!

Heirloom Bakery & Cafe
807-C Meridian Ave, South PasadenaWent here for breakfast the first time a few days ago and I didn't know what to order, but the lady taking orders (Sunny/Sonny) helped me so much! I said I wanted something flavorful and she recommended the chilaquiles and also recommended the smaller half size because the full plate is pretty large. I love how eager she was to help me and understood exactly what I wanted because the meal was perfect!!! I was so happy that I listened to her -- the food melted in my mouth and the flavors were incredible. I also asked Sunny/Sonny if they had water and even though it was in a jug where customers are meant to get water themselves, she offered to bring me some, which I thought was really sweet. Very good customer service, lively ambience (especially in the morning), and amazing food. I will definitely be coming back thanks to Sunny/Sonny!

Aro Latin
1019 Mission St, South PasadenaGreat little bar restaurant on Mission St, close to cafes and milk tea shops. The ambiance is very much local Latin eatery with a variety of selections ranging from tacos to Branzino to paella. Very relaxed, local crowd. Lots of seating. Never been too full from what I could see whenever I walk past, even during peak dinner hours. However, I think they may be lacking service staff, may take a longer-than-expected moment to get seated, but the servers are very nice and helpful when they are available. Good place to go for casual latin cuisine with good drinks, and a inviting warm environment with indoor outdoor feel to it, with indoor and outdoor seating. Pricing is a little more than you pay for street tacos or Guisados, but Aro doesn't just have tacos, they have actual entrees so you can mix and match. Drinks were good, I liked margarita monday! Hopefully they can expand their margarita selection since I am partial to tequila & mezcal. Parking is on the street in the surrounding neighborhood but pretty easy to find parking in my experience. Good for casual dining with friends/family. Cost on margarita Monday for 4 margaritas, shrimp, skewers, quesadilla, and 5 tacos with asada fries and tostaditas came out to about 120$ including tax (pre-tip). Street parking is pretty easy.

Twohey's Restaurant
424 Fair Oaks Ave, South PasadenaMy SO and I enjoy making a trip here from time to time for breakfast. One of our favorites on rotation. Enjoy their chicken & waffle, which is flavorful and well prepared. They really do make a delicious latte as well. You can even get a breakfast cocktail if you're in the mood. It can get busy with a little wait, but they keep you comfortable while you wait with plenty of shade and a nice outdoor waiting area. Parking can be challenging with a small, oddly shaped lot. It's worth it, though. Just go. Get the French Toast. It's great!

Gus's BBQ - South Pasadena
808 Fair Oaks Ave, South PasadenaThis was my 1st time here and love the atmosphere of the restaurant. I fell in love and we were seated right away. I ordered the 5 Bones St. Louis Spare Ribs and share the Fried Pickles appetizer with my sister in law. It was the bomb and really enjoy my meal. I highly recommend this place if you’re craving some good BBQ. Best time to go is during Happy Hour! Enjoy!
Parking: The parking lot behind the restaurant is small.
