“Dr. Miller and his staff have been very reasonable and personable. I bought a case of low protein wet food for my dog, and my dog refused to eat it after a few days. Dr. Miller accepted a return of the unopened cans. He didn't have to do that, and I appreciate it. His staff is polite and kind. They return phone calls and have always been on top of things. You don't know how good you have it until you go to another vet and are treated terribly. I do recommend Dr. Miller. He is not a corporation and this business is not run to maximize profit like all the other vet practices. I actually vastly prefer waiting in my car as opposed to struggling to control my freaking out dogs in a waiting room with dogs and cats.”

“I recently moved to the area and needed a new vet for my senior lab. My neighbor recommended Dr. T at Aptos Creekside because she specializes in older pets. I was excited to hear she was taking new patients and we got our appointment in less than a week! The front desk staff was helpful and friendly and the doctor was thorough, knowledgeable and a good listener. She answered all my questions and gave some good practical advice. Im excited to have a local vet who will help me give the best care to my old guy!”

“5 star rating for Santa Cruz Vet Hospital as they were able to get us in with a same day "walk in appt". We were on vacation out of state and our 12 year old black lab got sick from drinking brackish ocean / lake water. He was not eating for several days, not drinking much and totally not himself. He also had an arthritis flare up in his old bones from running and running on the beach. Alex Rahm, DVM was wonderful with us worried humans and so kind and gentle to our sick old dog. Alex got on the floor with Cooper our dog and started talking to Cooper like they were old friends. He did the full exam while sitting on the floor petting and calming Cooper. This Vet Alex truly loves his job!! He explained to us his reasoning for the meds he chose and how we were to administer them. Cooper is much better now. The arthritis is chronic but it will be more manageable.

“I went here with my family to get a second opinion about my dogs situation and this place was so great and gave us hope and options. We have been here before in the past for my dogs and cats i’m pretty sure but since then we moved to san jose and we made the drive down here just because this place is so great. My 14 year old black lab was really old and he started growing huge tumors on the side of his abdomen. This place gave us the option to surgically remove it and we were more than happy to do that since the last place just told us to put down the dog (we really wanted it removed). Long story short, we found out that this tumor was more cancerous and would spread really fast and his recovery would be 50/50 chance of him surviving. we decided that day during surgery that we should go ahead and put our old doggy down since he was already asleep and we didn’t want further complications to where it injured him. But the way this place handled things was amazing. i asked if i could see him before he was put down and I was so happy i was able to be there for my doggy as he went to sleep. (some vet places don’t let you be in the same room of when they put down your dog because it’s a policy thing but im soo happy i could see him before.) They laid out blankets and candles and gave us a button doorbell to push when we were ready to put him down so it would let the staff know. they gave us all the time we needed with him and we were really grateful of that. I had a small favor to ask and that was to take some pieces of hair and whiskers off my doggy to keep since i also have hair of my other old doggy that passed away years ago and they were more than happy to do that for us. driving home for us was the hardest part because it’s the quietest and most sad car ride knowing your dog isn’t in the back seat wagging its tail and that dog won’t be coming home with you. But a week or 2 later. we got a handwritten card in the mail from this place with a stamp of my doggy’s foot print and that made me burst out in tears. I’m so happy to have this card to remember my childhood dog. Thank you Scott’s Valley Veterinary Clinic. My family truly appreciates the doctor and the whole staff. Even though i didn’t get to take home my doggy in the end, you guys showed love and compassion and we appreciate that.”

“Dr. Maggie Turner is a wonderful vetranarian. She is very knowledgeable, kind and informative! She diagnosed the problem and looked for other possible reasons my horse was having this issue. She was able to get him started right away on medication and would be following up withe the results of the blood work as soon as it comes back. I highly recommend her!,”

“We found a young kitten in bad shape and in desperate need of medical care. We were able to get a same day appointment. The front room staff was so kind and caring when I was emotional and crying.
The vet (and his assistant?) took great care of the little kitten. The kitten was in rough shape. I was concerned he would die or lose his eyes. The vet treated the kitten swiftly.
It has been almost a week and you wouldn't even recognize the kitten. He is gaining weight and recovering well. He will return for a second visit this week.
I was also surprised the bill wasn't higher. It is definitely much more affordable than the emergency vet. If this vet wasn't able to see the kitten the same day, we would have gone to an emergency vet, which would have been at least 4 times more expensive.”

“I highly recommend Pacific and Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists for your pet's emergency needs. My german shepherd/lab-mix dog Betty is a relentless competitor when it comes to ball catching, but she doesn't always take care when landing after jumping into the air to catch a ball mid-toss. On Saturday after ball play, she began limping and obviously had an injury to her front right arm or shoulder. Dr. Shishida performed a complete assessment and shared that in her experience, she did not believe Betty's arm was broken. Although she offered to take an x-ray to confirm, I really appreciated her assessment (which was exactly correct) and reassurance that starting with pain meds and rest was a reasonable (and less costly) approach to treating Betty's injury. My experience with all staff members and techs were very positive as they exhibited great care and empathy for Betty's injury. It was overall a very good experience.”

“This morning was as good as any heartbreaking event could be. We drove through the redwoods and didn't care much that cars lined up behind us. Windows wide open, at first she was up head out the window. It wasn't long till she was down flat sleeping. We got to the vet early so we opened the tailgate and sat a good while with her, whispering, reassurring and loving on her. We told her that Grama and Grampa were waiting with Smitty and Buffy (our sometimes cats) to all play together. She just let us pet and stroke her. The vet made an obligatory attempt to advise us about pain meds, iron shots and to wait some more. Michele and I were resigned. We dreaded a late night hemorrhage and pain and a flying trip to get help. It was just time. Dr. Jen said Vera was skinny, dehydrated, anemic and had a very large palpable spleen. Probably all tumor by now. One shot to put her to sleep and a second to stop her heart. It was all so calm, peaceful, not even a twitch. We stayed there for a while, thanking the vet, remembering our past visits and the Felton parade.”

“I absolutely LOVE Del Mar Pet Hospital!My dog is so excited to go every time he whines with excitement when we get down the street. My cat even falls asleep on the exam table when she's there.The staff and Drs are so friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and work with you on pricing.They are the most fair priced vet I've been to in SC county, and I've been to a lot.I'm talking $100 cheaper for a frequent shot I have to get my pup. I've been fleeced before coming here.The waiting room is inviting and clean. They even offer free teas and coffee while you wait!Ordering prescriptions is an absolute breeze and at super reasonable prices as well.I only had to wait 10 minutes for blood work to come back! I've never experienced that at a vet anywhere in this town before. You can get your results for basic panels while you're still there!They accept CARE credit and most pet insurance too.I'm very sad I only recently discovered them before I'm moving out of state.Do yourself a favor and start taking your pet to Del Mar Pet Hospital ASAP!”

“Very thankful to have found Exotic Pet Clinic for our rabbits! We first reached out when we found a lump on one of our rabbit's back and another vet closer to us diagnosed it as suspicious and possibly a tumor. We called Exotic Pet Clinic because we wanted to talk to a vet that specializes in rabbits and could perform surgery if needed, and Exotic Pet Clinic was super accommodating. The receptionist took down notes, requested records from our local vet, and their vet reached out to us within a few hours to let us know next steps. We were able to make an appointment quickly after to get a diagnostic with Dr. Deng, who was super nice and patient with our questions. Made the whole situation much less stressful for us after we talked to her. We scheduled a surgery to remove the lump with Dr. Stern for the week after. The day of the surgery, Dr. Stern kept us updated via text, and the clinic staff checked in on us the following days via text. We really appreciated how caring, helpful, and responsive everyone at the clinic was, from the vets to the staff!”

I would recommend this place because they are very thorough and knowledgeable. They are kinda expensive is the only reason they didn't get 5 stars.
