Gustin - Van Every Mobile Veterinary Medicine
226 Calcita Dr, Santa CruzAs a first-time cat parent navigating the learning curve with my kitten, Ozzy, Marc and Christine were the perfect fit for us. They both showed incredible patience and kindness, especially toward me as I learned the ins and outs of kitten care. Ozzy suffers from motion sickness, making car rides challenging, but Marc and Christine provided thoughtful solutions and medication to ease his symptoms. They made each visit easy and stress-free, helping with shots and all aspects of Ozzy’s medical care.
It’s clear that Marc and Christine genuinely love animals and understand the concerns of pet parents, which made us feel completely at ease. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring and knowledgeable veterinary professionals.

Chanticleer Veterinary Hospital
2701 Chanticleer Ave, Santa CruzDr. Barton is an experienced vet with expertise in senior cats. She is warm and caring, and inspires confidence and trust. The office is well managed, staffed by kind and competent people, the wait to see Dr. Barton and her assistant Katie short, and the appointment itself unrushed and thorough. Pacific and Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists
2585 Soquel Dr, Santa CruzI highly recommend Pacific and Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists for your pet's emergency needs. My german shepherd/lab-mix dog Betty is a relentless competitor when it comes to ball catching, but she doesn't always take care when landing after jumping into the air to catch a ball mid-toss. On Saturday after ball play, she began limping and obviously had an injury to her front right arm or shoulder. Dr. Shishida performed a complete assessment and shared that in her experience, she did not believe Betty's arm was broken. Although she offered to take an x-ray to confirm, I really appreciated her assessment (which was exactly correct) and reassurance that starting with pain meds and rest was a reasonable (and less costly) approach to treating Betty's injury. My experience with all staff members and techs were very positive as they exhibited great care and empathy for Betty's injury. It was overall a very good experience.

Pacific Paw
905 Tower Pl, Santa CruzWe recently attended a puppy class at Pacific Paw with our 7-month-old puppy, Sunny, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience! Working with the owner, Michelle, was an absolute delight. Her expertise and passion for dog training truly shine through in every session.
Both my partner and I learned a tremendous amount from Michelle. Her approach is not only effective but also incredibly engaging, making the learning process enjoyable for both us and Sunny. Since starting the class, Sunny has shown remarkable improvement. He listens to us more attentively and has mastered new tricks like laying down. Additionally, his interactions with both humans and other dogs have significantly improved, thanks to the socialization skills he picked up during the class. We are excited for more classes in the future with Pacific Paw.
I would highly recommend Pacific Paw to anyone looking for a puppy training experience.

Heritage Kennel
201 Mountain View Rd, Santa CruzHave used heritage kennel a few times for our Italian mastiff and he is such a clingy dog he doesn't come home nervous or anxious. He seems to be fine. He has a skin condition and this last time I took his cone with him so that he wouldn't lick his wounds raw and he came home his skin was a lot more clear which means they definitely coned him when he was alone or kept him busy not licking which made me happy! Definitely our go to!

The Velvet Coat
7 Lyle Way, Santa CruzWe've been taking our beloved French Bulldog, Ricky Bobby, to Shannon at The Velvet Coat for about a year now. He goes a couple days a week to daycare. We drop him off in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. We had a couple timing requests and Shannon was able to accommodate us. Ricky Bobby LOVES going to daycare! He's happy when we drop him off and he's happy when we pick him up. Due to being a Frenchie, he needs a little extra care. He likes to play until he drops! And that isn't always the best for him. We know that Shannon calms him down when it is needed, and we really appreciate that! For boarding we typically try to leave him with a family member. When we're unable to do that, the only other call is The Velvet Coat. We know that he is going to be safe and well cared for and completely loved. That means everything when you're on vacation! I can actually relax knowing my precious doggy is well taken care of.

Well worth it. Loved seeing the dough being fresh pressed and cooked for the sandwiches. Great job guys keep it up.

Linda’s Seabreeze Café
542 Seabright Ave, Santa CruzThis is a lovely breakfast place in Capitola. We drive over from San Jose at 7:00am and arrive in time for breakfast without long queues. And the drive over is leisurely and fun, no speeding maniacs at that time of the day. Bring a jacket, it can be cold if you have to wait outside. The omelets ( we tried the Florentine) are delish. 3 eggs with Spinach, mushrooms, onions with sour cream served with a walnut cinnamon bun of toast. Their jams are great too. The staff are happy and show it, the customers are chatty and happy too. Lots of families. Great meeting spot. We frequent this spot often. Lovely to walk it off on the beach afterwards or visit Henry Cowell Redwood State Park to walk amongst the giant trees.

Cococ The Food Truck
41 Municipal Wharf, Santa CruzThis was honestly the best food truck food I have ever had. I eat healthy all week, but I know when I go to a brewery on a weekend, I’m gonna have to make some compromises! No compromises had to be made for this food, as they had tons of healthy options! But healthy doesn’t always mean delicious, but this place was truly some of the most delicious food I had ever had at a brewery! (Humble Sea beer garden on the Santa Cruz wharf) I'll search out this food truck anytime I'm back in the Santa Cruz area.
Vegetarian options: Absolutely delicious!

River Cafe
River cafe, 415 River St suite K, Santa CruzI ordered the Grilled Veggie Panini and Chai. I loved the veggie panini, me and my friend thought it was very filling and yummy. The chai wasn't to my taste, but it was still pretty good, my personal preference aside. The service was pretty fast. I think the interior is charming, its a bit small. Overall we really enjoyed this place, I hope to come back again to try the Momos.

Since finding this gem of a spot, I’ve made my own tea tray, am understanding the intricacies of the ceremony, and have gained a new perspective.
The owner is so kind and always willing to share his story and lessons. The shop itself is filled with authenticity. It’s a must see. A great way to time travel to pre-internet/social media haha. Thank you!!

La Posta
538 Seabright Ave, Santa CruzLast evening a dear friend and I enjoyed our annual, combined birthdays get-together over a meal at La Posta. I'd been the lucky recipient of gift cards worth the cost of two prefix meals on the restaurant week menu from Good Times Santa Cruz and thought it appropriate we use them this week! The weather was autumn-perfect for eating on the patio while we sipped our respective glasses of white and red Italian wines. We ordered different items from the prefix menu so we could share: butternut squash soup, smoked black cod croquettes, rotolo with chanterelles, scallops and prawns, tiramisu, and almond torte with roasted apples. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The server noted what a good job we did cleaning our plates, but going to a restaurant like La Posta is a rare treat for this reviewer. I didn't want to miss a crumb! I'll look forward to opportunities to return to my neighborhood restaurant for future special occasions!

1855 17th Ave, Santa CruzWonderful! We had a lil baby hummingbird that fell and we thought he was dead so I called NAR and they told me to look at his eyes if they are moving/blinking at first they weren’t so I hung up all sad. Then about 30 minutes later I see him moving his head around! I called back again and they had someone come over to my work within 20 minutes! I was still sad and asked if they thought he was save able and she said they had great people there they could save him! Oh I was so happy. I asked if the y could call me with the outcome and she said they usually do! Thank you!
