“**February 2024: Monday Late Morning Visit** I've been to a number of Assistance Leagues throughout California and I really like this branches selection and layout. They have a wide selection of women's apparel and four dressing rooms. In the back of the shop are the higher quality items that are also separated by garment type. It has a very boutiquey feel to it and all the volunteers are super sweet. Prices were very fair/competitive to other thrift shops, but I scored a long sleeve and slacks for half off. The next time I'm in the Santa Barbara area I will definitely be back!”
“This place gave me the opportunity to live the life I've always dreamed of having. The Rescue Mission will forever hold a special place in my heart. A huge thank you to everyone who continuously pours their heart & soul into making this establishment possible and a special thanks to my tracker Dillon for giving me the chance to change my life for the better.-Rescue Mission Graduate (Class of 2023)”
“My husband started attending the Friendship Center in early 2023 two times per week and he really enjoys it so we recently added Friday (a shorter day) to round out the week. He has a mild form of dementia called CAA but anyone with memory issues of any kind can attend. He is not usually keen on group anything but he enjoys the very attentive staff and the many activities offered, especially the music and singing. At home we would go for short walks or do some fun activities but he spent a lot of time just watching old movies or constantly wanting my attention which is hard when I need to focus on work. The activities and friendships are so good for his well-being and he understands that it's helpful for both of us. It took a few weeks to fully embrace being away from me but he looks forward to his time there now. Our family is so grateful for having a safe, kind, and fun place like the Friendship Center in our community!”
“Downtown Santa Barbara is an absolute gem! The blend of stunning Spanish Colonial architecture, vibrant cultural scene, and picturesque ocean views makes it a perfect destination for a day trip or an extended stay. State Street is bustling with charming shops, fantastic restaurants, and cozy cafes, offering something for everyone. The local wineries and tasting rooms add a delightful touch to the experience. The area is also incredibly walkable, with beautiful parks and historic sites easily accessible. Whether you're exploring the museums, enjoying a beach day, or just strolling through the streets, downtown Santa Barbara offers an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend a visit!”
“I was grateful for the food deliveries from Food from the heart. This food really is from the heart. The meals are nicely packaged/ the meals were fresh and real dinners - lunch and breakfast were given, along with fresh fruits and vegetables. A positive news letter was also given with the meals that will give you some giggles while you’re recovering from surgery or any other illnesses that limit you from providing yourself with meals. I loved the homemade meals- grateful and blessed.”
“So far all I have used this resource for is information. On their website you can apply to have sent to you different booklets on numerous things that have to do with aging. They came within a week and have a wealth of info in each one.”
“Cannot speak highly enough about Karla and Immigrant Hope in general - I would not have been able to apply for citizenship until July of 2024 but Karla helped us find out that due to my husband's employment I was eligible to apply for citizenship back in May of 2022. After over 18 months of waiting, I finally had my citizenship interview and then had my oath ceremony this past week and am now an Australian American! I'm so thankful for Karla's care and compassion throughout the entire process. We could not have done this without her!”
“I am so lucky that I got to come here for residential and then to PHP (while living at their sober living) after. There is something really special about this program & staff and after leaving I feel indefinitely supported. So many amazing women have come out of Casa Serena and as alumni they are still involved and so welcoming to new ladies. It’s hard to describe how life changing of an experience this was in just a short paragraph. I received so much individual care and attention from staff throughout my entire stay. I wish every woman had the opportunity in life to get the help they need at Casa, and after experiencing other residential programs before this I’m really glad I trusted Casa with my money and with my life instead of other not so nice places. Best investment of my life :)”
“The place is very nice. The community team are wonderful. Not sure how many countries there are sending their emergency kits. But the feeling that be part of the volunteer process is grateful knowing that someone else somewhere get this help.”

434 Olive St, Santa Barbara“In today's age of disposable everything, BIci Centro is a great place to recycle and keep your rig on the road. My old free cruiser needed a wheel rebuild due to breaking spokes. It was either buy a cheap one on amazon from China, or get the parts and rebuild. It took me a couple hours to re assemble with some help from YouTube, but with the help from Bici's helpful staff to get the right parts, i got it done and have a wheel im proud of. Great source for 2nd hand bikes and parts.”
“Impressive operation. They have an excellent caring and courteous staff, lots of diagnostic equipment, and fixed my detached retina. I couldn't ask for more.”
“I have known the Fish Reef project for over a decade. One of the few organizations out there making a tangible difference. If your passion is Ocean Health, please support them, they are the solution for the restoration of the lost west coast kelp forest.”

“I want to share that The Salvation Army SB was the best decision I ever made. After being released from jail, I needed a stable place to land my feet while I began my recovery journey. I truly met some amazing people, learned how to live again, and began my recovery journey at the SB house! I will be celebrating 11 years Sept 26th 2023! This place is truly a gift if you are willing! Forever grateful!”

“WYP was the "feel good hit" of each summer camp season for our kids. I believe this kind of education is very important and should be available to all children through schools, after school and all summer long.”
