The service at this Sports Basement is awesome! If you're a boarder, go see Dominic for advice. He went above and beyond in understanding what I needed based on my riding style and the issue I was experiencing with my foot, and he helped me find the best possible boots and bindings. They didn't have them in stock, so he ordered them to my house. I even had follow up questions he gladly answered on the phone. Everyone in the store seemed to be of the same attitude to customer service, not to mention the great sale and membership discount... can't beat it! I will always return to this store.

I created an account just for this review. The ski shop team was very helpful in helping me adjust my bindings right there on the spot. The repair technician did not even charge me for moving around a few of the screws on my ski bindings when my boots were a bit scuffed, very nice crew!

This place is good. Staff is very helpful and I typically don't get the sense of trying to be "upsold". I normally do my research before visiting the store, so I have a pretty good idea of whatever item (particularly high $) I am looking to buy. And normally, I can find what I am looking for at SB. The prices are very fair, even more-so when you become a Basementeer. One tip I have for you - become a Basementeer. If you find yourself regularly shopping for outdoors / sports gear, don't drag your feet like I did in joining the club. You'll save a grip. The sales staff appear to like what they do and prices are right. Snowboards, bikes, e-bikes, skis, swimming, Giants, 49ers, camping, baseball, football, shoes, stylie fits, hats, all under one giant ex-Orchard (I still do miss you) roof. Legit.

Ask for Puma! He was very patient and informative while helping me pick out a pair of running shoes and hiking shoes. He identified what would work best with my foot shape and made sure I was happy with the options he recommended.

I love this store for selection and value, especially sale prices. However, one overlooked area of the store is the ladies restroom. No TP, no seat covers, no paper towels. One crunched jug of liquid soap lying on its side on the sink. I asked a female employee who's responsible for the restroom and her reply: "I dunno." Make sure you come to the store with an empty tank, so to speak.

Excellent place to rent ski and snowboarding equipment, especially if you're a beginner or have growing kids. Our family was headed to South Lake Tahoe for a week on the slopes, and we needed to rent, not buy, equipment for our girls. Our older one was a "just past beginner stage" skier, and our younger one wanted to learn how to snowboard. My brother-in-law recommended Sports Basement, and what a great suggestion that turned out to be! From the moment we walked in, we saw how large the place was, with a massive selection of outdoor equipment and gear. They even have a ski bus ($99) which takes you to some of the popular resorts. The rental section is on one side, and staffed with very knowledgeable associates. They asked our girls a few questions, such as whether our younger daughter was goofy (left footed) or regular (right footed) so we could rent the right snowboard. And we rented brand-new ski boots for our older daughter as those were the best fit! The total cost was about $300 for eight days, and it was totally worth it, because the girls had a great time. Our older daughter has vastly improved her skiing (she didn't need poles by the end of our trip), and our younger one can snowboard now! I returned all the gear yesterday, and it took less than a minute. Thank you, Sports Basement, for helping our family learn how to snowboard and ski better! We will be back to ride your ski bus on our next trip.

Sports basement staff was really nice and the place has quality products. I purchased a volleyball and my son hit it into the rose bush. The ball got punctured and leaked air. I went back to the store and requested a replacement, and they honored it. Great quality service and stands behind their products that's sold.

I recently took my old bike to Sports Basement for a tune-up. The bike repair staff was super helpful. They provided great service at a great price. I recommend them for bike repairs.

I highly recommend shopping here. I was impressed by the online video consultation for snow ski gear I received from Troy, who went over every aspect and then provided me a list of recommended products ideal for me. Later, when I went to the store to install the bindings and get my boots fitted, Jason continued the excellent service and provided even more suggestions on some ski accessories.

Fantastic experience; bike service center is awesome (especially Charlie!)- I bought a brand new e bike online and there was a bit of play in the handlebars and they knew exactly how to fix it and did it super quickly and made sure it was safe and ready for me to take my toddler on bike rides. These folks are great!

I visited the San Ramon store to clarify an issue regarding the bindings for my new skis. I could have done this over the phone, but why give up an opportunity to visit the store? Jason knows everything about skis and skiing and is fun to talk to. It was great to see more people also buying their skis while I was there. Everybody is getting stoked for the season. See everyone at SnowFest!

The staff is highly knowledgeable...the advice they gave us was so much inline with what we needed...they didn't just try to sell us stuff but guided us to get what will make us good progressive snowboarders...we will highly recommend the San Ramon sports basement for all sporting needs.

Shoutout to Cade who helped me, along with several customers, sharing his expertise and solicited opinion about the different shoes I and other customers were considering. He regularly asked customers if they needed any help before they even asked him. He's a definitely an asset. I also love how the shoes were arranged based on a person arches. It definitely helped narrow down the selections so I only did minimal research while trying to decide which make/model to try on.
